A lovely lavender candle is the answer to the world , the universe and everything .
Good news on the allotment and sorry nor to have mentioned it before I have been rather busy with a certain wee wummin up a hill who's name I dare not utter lest she eat the bars on her cage and escapes .
It's a perfect time of the year to take on the lottie . You must all be so exited to be back on a plot . Oh the things you can grow , at times like this I remember mine very fondly but it would be too much now on top of the gardens .
May the sun shine or rain fall depending on when you need them .

It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

There but for fortune go you and I.

I am excited thank you. I can't get into the greenhouse until the previous plot holder has harvested his tomatoes but the outdoors I can play in. DH has been welding broken fence panels (metal building site ones) for the chicken run and has a more experienced welder making me a chicken run door. He's also got me condemned scaffolding planks for raised beds so we'll get on with the first one at the weekend. It's a tiny plot - maybe 5 meters by 10 - but perfect for me. I get 3 beds to rotate in and the 4th youngest is going to play in.

Oooh Fuddle - such excitement! There are quite a few things be you can start off now that will go through the winter. I've got Carol Klein's vegetable book - it's very good. If your local library have it, it's worth taking a look first to see if it 'suits' you. My broad beans got decimated by blackfly but I salvaged a pod, dried it in the greenhouse and then planted the beans - got 8 new plants to go in now - will keep a closer eye on them this time. Do post & let us know what you're planning to grow.

What a total and utter scrotebag. The Fencers Army are here for you to scream at, shout at, run ideas past or cry all over. Whatever you want. Go with the flow. Rule number one - look after yourself first, so that you can be strong enough to look after others.

There will be things to do, decisions to make....but for now, just breathe.

So this is where you got to. I'ts still a week since anyone posted.

Thank You polly for your good vibes. I have mixed feelings about the pending central heating as they are just going to leave the holes where the heaters are now and are putting the radiators in different places.

I will lose one of my two cupboards for the boiler and unless they have managed to miniaturise boilers I will also loose the only place for the microwave and my extractor fan will have to go. My kitchen is will be not much of a kitchen at all.

I'm thinking it is going to cost me a lot of money.

Good news DS has had two interviews for jobs. One he has been offered verbally working in a bakery. The other he went to today, is at the new Northern Distribution Center working for Aldi.

He has been told he needs to do an access course for uni so even though he would be paid more at Aldi it will be impossible to fit in his access course working at the distribution center as it is shifts. Polly I think we will need your good vibes again.

I'm sat here girding my loins and drinking tea, 2 of the DGC are due this morning for a boat trip.
We should have left the marina at 2:30 yesterday but we got half way home and CHS remembered his lunchbox, this was only important because all the boat padlocks were in it, he'd taken them to work to squirt with WD40.
Ye gods I'm surprised the boat still floats! It's the Kennet and Avon canal, not the Bronx, we have a 92 ton boat with an extra ton of padlocks on it.
It was 4 o'clock before we left and by 5 we'd moored up to watch an open air play at the Rowbarge Pub in Woolhampton. It was called 'In at the Deep End' and it was about the RNLI, there was a cast of thousands, well 4 people. Performed by the Mikron Theatre Company, we've seen the boat many times but this is the first time we've managed to catch a performance.
    Chin up, Titus out.
