Don't know where everyone has gone! I'm afraid I've been MIA lately as well, but we've been busy at church getting ready for our anniversary.

I've had a busy week. On Wednesday I had workmen all day. I now have a new soil pipe, the broken elbow joint between the grid and the soil pipe was replaced and all the pipes from the bathroom (loo, sink and bath) have also been replaced. In the middle of the day I left the workmen to it and went to mum's bungalow to meet the Estate Agent. Agreed to put the bungalow up for sale with them (1% flat fee) and quite happy with the suggested asking price. I stayed to do a bit of work (tidying the yard and putting in bedding plants) as there was a half hour wait when I phoned for a taxi. The photographer came whilst I was still there, he helped me move some edging stones out of the way and swept the yard. Lovely photos.
On Thursday I had my PIP interview by phone. Should have been an hour long, was nearer 1.5. I had gone to the bathroom just before she was due to call and she phoned early so she was treated to the audible version of me doing my best to get back downstairs. Finished at 10.20 am and my social services early intervention visit was due at noon. She was late (very relieved as I was seriously starting to flag. She brought a trainee and they were both lovely, they loved my garden and recycling projects and brushed aside my attempts at apologising for the state of the house. "I was obviously doing everything I could to keep both myself and the house going".
I going to get handles either side of the front door and one by the back door, the stair rail will be extended and another one attached to the other wall. I'm having a bath board and a shower rail and curtain (I can tuck it under my bum when having a shower).
I cleaned the bathroom over about 10 days in 5 minute chunks. this week I've started on the kitchen. I gathered all the [pots and pans that needed washing into bags for life and all the laundry in rubble sacks. The grid was just about holding the muck but I was afraid if I ran the dishwasher or washer that the grid would overflow all over the yard, so only started processing those when the workmen had finished. however I have several patches of worktop visible and cleared the kitchen table. I moved clean pots onto the trolley, stuff from the dishwasher went onto the drying rack (after I'd cleaned the sink and draining board). First load went in and all the ones with dried on food were left to soak.
Late Thursday afternoon the EA phoned to say someone wanted to view the bungalow on Saturday. Yesterday I spent hours there sweeping, sifting soil and stones, dismantling my polytunnel frame, stashing absolutely everything still there in the shed (including the spare walker, Henry hoover, polytunnel, big curly hose, any leftover oddments of tools and cleaning products. Was absolutely exhausted.
This morning my bath board was delivered. Mr and Mrs Builder came round to discuss my back wall and the gap where a gate and fence panel should be. They think they can fit me in before they go away on holiday but agreed that it will be easier to do the big jobs once DS3 and Beloved move on (soon, very soon). This afternoon i had a phone call to say the woman who'd viewed the bungalow had put in an offer £5,000 above the guide price, so I've accepted it.
So very hectic but ultimately satisfying - had slight doubts when booking 2 appointments in one day but if people were available, I thought I should go for it. The last third of the year is turning out better than expected.

I've been ill Mrs CD, Started with the heatwave, Arthritis, Fibro flares and the agonising rotator cuff tears. Totally sleepless and struggling to figure out what day it was. Finally dragged myself to the little Coop yesterday. First time out since June 29th and very weak and wobbly.I had a horrible energy bill just over a week ago and was stopped in my tracks by the price rises in the Coop. Haven't been on the threads , knew things were getting dearer but didn't realise how bad it is.Literally fell in to the armchair when I finally got home.Very glad I defrosted the big freezer in the garage on our hottest day- coolest place of all that day and freezer isn't auto defrost so it really cooled things down. I did a load of batchcooking that day. Was totaly wiped out but glad I did.Hope all is well with you and yours and your church celebrations go well.Sorry to hear burtha hasn't been well hope she's feeling better now, pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Random thing I had a lightbulb moment on one of the sleepless nights. Suddenly thought It was silvasaver whose BIL was involved with a Wool Club. Out of nowhere but wonder if it was.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Just checked up on the footie. Glory, Glory Man Utd at last. A lot of fans aren't keen on ten Hag but I think he's exactly what they needed. Apart from the former player who stepped in when Ole was sacked they haven't had a proper manager since Fergie. Hope he's got a smile on his face today.I will always have a place in my heart for Ole. He won us the treble and I'll never forget the moment he slamed the ball home in the final minutes.I think after Fergie retired there wasn't anyone to enforce the work ethic, hard work and decency he had. Working in the Govan shipyards makes for strong characters.I like the fact ten Hag will sit overpaid . prima donna players on the subs bench and leave them there. Harry Maguire was paid a fortune and although Ronaldo helped last season he's vastly over paid and isn't putting the effort in. Too entitled both of them . I can;t remember when I last saw Harry Maguire defend which is why he is defence.Just hoping for a calmer season and less of the prima donnas.Anyone in employment would not be paid for turning in and not doing the work so dock their pay and leave them on the bench.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Oh dear, polly, you have been through the mill. Hope things turn around for you soon.
Glad you're felling better, burtha. We had covid in June and it took a while to feel back to sort of normal again.
I'm still getting most of our shopping delivered from asda. Dd told me to get their rewards app so I did, thinking it would be a waste of time, but I've had loads of money back, which I share with dd and dad when I work out who owes me what for the shopping. I thought if it paid for delivery, I'd be happy but I've had around £40 back since I started at the end of June! It all helps. I've also managed to save a big cushion of credit on our electricity bill so it will help to balance out the big hikes over the winter. I'm grateful to be able to pay our bills.
