Not much, Mrs CD, unwinding after busy work day and psyching myself up for a busy Bank Holiday weekend. Lunch with offspring in town tomorrow, involved in a charity concert tomorrow evening and another one in aid of Ukraine Sunday afternoon. Somewhere, somehow, I will find some time for a bit of sloggus domesticus, as well as giving the dog and cats some attention. It will be nice to get back to work after the weekend for a rest...One life - your life - live it!5

“Sloggus domestics” that’s a brilliant expression Nargleblast and totally describes my plans for today 😂6

Hope the charity concerts do really well, nargle. Will there be any videos we could have a peek at on utube?
We're both retired, but still feel like we have very little time somehow!2025 Fashion on the ration

Still about but if I turn round too quickly I meet myself coming back. I've always thought that old people took life slowly and easily and conducted it mostly from their armchairs with a blanket over their knees.
I went wrong somewhere.

Nowt wrong with a bit of sluggus domesticus now and then, we can't fire on all cylinders all of the time. One life - your life - live it!6

I fear I shall have to indulge in a little Sluggus Exterminus during the week, weather permitting; the front garden is a wilderness, and the wretched molluscs are having a rave-up out there every night. It's at times like these I wish DH liked gardening; but he'd sooner carve off his right leg with a rusty bread knife than do anything out there other than mow the lawn. Added to that, he can barely tell a nettle from a nasturtium. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)5

We used to have a chap at church, very willing to do the gardening, but didn't know which were flowers or weeds!2025 Fashion on the ration

I had that image of retired people too but I seem busier than ever. I love gardening and so have spent a lot of time out there - and not much time on housework. My excuse is that we are always being told that the fresh air is good for us! My children have also taken on an allotment and I've been down there too helping out. Lots of clearing but also just starting planting.
The allotment is between two railway lines but is so quiet and peaceful that it is a pleasure to go down there. I often take a flask and sandwiches. We have some garden chairs there too and it is lovely to sit and listen to the birds and people watch too!! It has a proper, flushing toilet for all the allotmenters too - that is really useful!! Also seen foxes close by and stag beetle larvae (?).
