The village school used to do Maypole dancing when my late mother in law went there but don't nowadays.
It's still too hot for me and I know I've been a bit cranky at times.😔 It's taking me until around 2am to get settled down each night then I don't want to get up in the morning. Most days it doesn't matter but tomorrow we're planning a trip to the shops so it will be an early start so we can get home before the hordes turn up.
We had to get our plumber in this morning as the cold water pipe up to the downstairs toilet sink started leaking. It's taken a while but it's fixed and he's a good lad for coming quickly.
I'm trying to finish knitting some socklets for inside my canvas shoes but my hands get hot and sticky and it's not nice so I give up! Any ideas?

Silva, we are near Hungerford, I'm probably sending Steve to collect his prescription as it will be too hot for Beano and it's too hot to leave him on the boat.

Finished a scarf.
Mr F has to visit the post office so will try to get some ice lollies from Icelan.
Anyone else think that we will go the way of panic buying as so many people getting pinged - meaning distribution issues?

Looking at another scarf has got my temperature rising!

Too hot to sleep, another night of less than 5 hours and a 6.30am alarm for work. Can't even slope off early as I've got a call 4-5pm ☹

Hopefully it will be cool enough for another walk along the canal this evening, although as I've broken a little toe I will need to wear proper walking shoes and not my Converse.

Nargleblast

Now there's a welcome sight, water on a hot day. Perhaps we should leave activities like knitting and crochet to the autumn and winter months, and do cooler stuff like embroidery  and art in the summer?

Never satisfied, are we? Remember back in May when we were moaning about the wind, the rain and the cold?

Nargleblast - saw on a local site that lads are jumping off the pier - this has always happened but the harbour is not dredged as much as it used to be -  so they are risking serious injury.

Yes, it's often in the news about young idiots jumping off cliffs and bridges to cool down, they don't realise that there may be stuff to cause injury under the surface of the water, or fast flowing currents. My dog has more sense, she'll wade into a river but will never go out further than where she feels comfortable.

The kids do it on the canals too, it's terrifying when they time it so they jump just in front of us. They don't understand how long it takes to stop a 32 ton boat.

They should all learn about Joni Earekson-Tada. She dived into water in her late teens and became quadriplegic. She's done amazing things with her life though, and can paint beautiful pictures.
