monna I was not surprised, I told DS he had fallen for a space age kitchen that would not be up to it. He still wants it but I would not pay £600 a month for a house half the size of the average 2 up 2 down.
By the way the underfloor lighting, under the base units? Who prepares meals on the kitchen floor with their feet? Why would you want to light the kitchen floor?
Got so carried away with the thought of a chocolate orange I forgot to say the whole place smelled like a tarts Boudoir!!! Now come on everybody start singing bread. I think that is what she used to say about cheap perfume.0 -
Crumbs nursemaggie, what do you think the cheap smells were masking? The floor level lighting is obviously in case you come in drunk, fall over and can't get up, at least you'll have enough light to read or reapply your lipstick. The house sounds wonderful nm ....not ... never understand why anyone would want lights in the kitchen at that hight .... just odd
Your right about my quiet day ... before 2 30 I had driven 30 miles dropping kids off , walked/ cleaned 5 dogs , 2 loads of washing , and spoke to the 3mw ....
Then repeated some of that at 5 lol .... collected kids , food shopping, walked dogs ,tea,.....opened a bottle of wine ,then call from ds asking for a lift to hospital ... just back thankfully all ok ...
So maybe not quiet by most people's but at least I didn't have to fit work in the middle of it today
So now having a glass of wine ...
Football in the morning , so will run before it starts .... then ds homework is taking pictures of fish ! ... really .... art .... guess we're going to a sea life centre unless I find anywhere closer ....

Supermarket fish counter burtha.0

burtha Fish for sale in tanks in one of those big Pet shops. garden centers sell fish too. Just don't come home with any more animals.
Been having a good look on my own at houses. Found a good one just round the corner from here would still have the same cheeky kids, "close to schools, shoos, and other amenities." Perhaps that one is for Emelda Marcos.
I knew as soon as we saw that house it was way over priced. It's only £600 said the estate agent. Average price within half a mile of the house is £450 a month for bigger properties.
I found a nice 3 bed semi for less than £500 with a nice garden and a garage for the bikes he will acquire. He's bound to have at least two by Christmas next year.
DS was feeling right down this afternoon because of the noise all around us. We had night club level music and stamping feet of children at
4 A.M. Yes 4 in the morning.
DS used to do free running, for those who don't know what it is it's running around over roof tops and jumping from one roof to another. We used to get calls to pick him up from A & E regularly. He even moved to Sussex on crutches.0 -
Would sooooo like to do the supermarket one :rotfl:
Yes , may do that nm .... but definitely not coming back with anything ....fish give me the creeps .... horrible things with big eyes ..... and what use are they .... I'd look silly taking them for a walk , no conversation skills , no good in a break in.......
only plus side in no hair

And free running looks fab .... but think my kids would probably not be impressed if I started that :rotfl:
Always wanted to do a parachute jump ... any be in a few years .....

NM - your description of the apartment compared to the EA's view made me think of the one I went to see - A detached residence with plenty of character turned out to be a railway carriage up on bricks!!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Or the house "full of rural charm," that a friend was astonished to find next to a sewage treatment plant. Or the one I saw a couple of months ago " overlooking a lake" but neglecting to mention that it was in the middle of a derelict industrial site.
I understand the gloss that advertisers use to sell their wares, but really!
On the other hand it makes for a good story when you have got over the irritation.
I'm sure that I have told before about the couple, who after failing to sell their house through estate agents, decided to do it themselves.
They took out a large space in the local paper and headed it, "DO NOT BUY THIS AWFUL HOUSE," and proceeded to enumerate all the things wrong with it.
Within a week it was sold, signed, sealed and settled.

burtha, hugs, my friend has been told it was just chance and not likely to happen again, mind you her MIL told her it was because she wasn't maternal enough!
But then my MIL told my now ex husband that my placenta previa was caused by me being immoral!Chin up, Titus out.0
