Thanks burtha. All puzzles done, just the giant Cryptic Crossword to be tackled today. Apart from that it's the usual excitement-packed day in lockdown.
I usually do myself some sort of roast dinner on Sundays, just a nod towards tradition and a memory of cooking for indefinite numbers of people. But today I don't feel like it, so I'm tossing up between beans on toast and bacon and egg. By the time lunchtime comes it may be something entirely different. We'll see.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
It's OK if things are not the same and your heart is missing the way things used to be.
And it's OK to take time to sort through it all while leaning into the light and pursuing soundless peace.

Bacon negg roll here monna

Monna if it's a toss up between those 2 I'd go for the beans on toast, with grated cheese on the top
We're pushing the boat out and having a tinned pie (FB) with chips as there is only the 2 of us, not very healthy I know. I may do a roast if Dad comes over in the week. I think the old ways of allocated meals for the day have mainly gone now
My DM used to buy a joint of meat and we'd have it for 3/4 days in different ways, a roast-Sunday, with bubble and squeak-Monday, pie and mash-Tuesday etc. and it was always fish on a Friday.

crosswords all ways make me think of my dad, evening paper and time after tea .
beans on toast sounds good . not sure what we are having , think I've got cauliflower and broccoli to use up .
I'm still in bed , not much sleep last night, get some fresh air soon after a large coffee .
a few weeks ago I discovered that potato waffles could be cooked in the toaster , I remembered to put some in the weekly shop , don't think I've had any in at least 30 year . .. anyway it worked , kids now think I'm bonkers
but they were really nice . a blast from the past .
made me happy anyway .
eldest ds is waiting for covid results today .

Can't believe it's February already.
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the time flies past when you are doing nothing and going nowhere? I thought it was supposed to be the other way round.
Perhaps it's because all the days are the the same and they seem to flow seamlessly into one amorphous stretch. (Do I mean amorphous? Is that even a word?)
I wish I was an active, busy little bee sort of person. My house and garden would now be all organised and I would have at least started one of the many projects I have waiting in the wings.
Never mind. As GreyQueen says, it is what it is. That is a great comfort to me.
Having nothing else to say, I'll shut up.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY

I can't believe it is February either, must admit I have had a little more zip in me this Monday, think it is all down to the lovely sunny day we are having here - hope it's the same for you all. Got my first line of washing out and walked the dog - then second lot washing done. But just need to get it dry!!
My saying is never but of today what can be done tomorrow or even next week.
Hope you have a good week.9 -
As I have got older the time seems to fly past. Went for our weekly shopping and now hubby going off to work in his home office. I will be doing crochet.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Monnagran - you really have no idea how much your thought for Sunday has helped me. As I'm on the shielded list due to blood cancer and no spleen, I have been at home since March last year. The only place I've been to has been the hospital for scans and an operation for a new cancer in my kidney that was found by a lymph node scan last September. I haven't seen 2 out of my 4 children in all that time, the other two I have seen through a closed window a few times outside lockdown periods. I ache to give them a hug and I miss my old life more than I can say. Living this way makes me feel sad, angry, lost, and some days, full of despair. Yet I feel guilty for feeling like that because I am alive, my DH has been allowed by his employer to work from home and shield with me, I have enough money to live on and I have enough stores to not go hungry when home deliveries of food don't always work out - all things a lot of other people don't have. So I feel like a weight lifted when I read the bit about it being OK for my heart to be missing my old life. It has helped me so much. Thank you.
