A very belated thank you monna for todays thought. I liked that.Settle and Carlisle wil have to wait until tomorrow. I'm a bit concerned the Mings and Amy Pond have gone very quiet. That's not a good sign. You don't have a patio anymore Mar so no point plotting with "your mate" to do away with me. Bigger people have tried and failed. The application of quicklime shortly before moving house was a waste of time. Forensic science has come a very long way. Remember I know where the bodies are buried. One of my small pleasures at the moment along with Staged is a TV ad for Global player. A blast of Radio Gaga my favourite Queen song and I defy anyone not to sing along to that. My other favourite is " The days of our lives" but i can't sing along to that obvious goodbye from Freddie. I knew he was gone before the news broke.pollyx

I've been quietly knitting a sock and back in time reading The Eagle of the Ninth. Dere Street is practically at the end of my road and I've gone all Roman. Pondering becoming a Samian Vase but I fear another name change might be too much for a certain parrot...

Maybe burtha will lend you her Roman outfit from her Hadrians wall challenge. Don't ponder either another Avatar or name change. There are limits to my patience!pollyx

I know you no longer live there Floss but I've just watched a piece about Blackpool , the pandemic and the impact on the "Left behind" near the end of bbc 10 oclock news.Lots of other places are seeing the impact of cuts and inaction over the years too. It's like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.pollyx.It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Hi,
so only a 2 mile run tonight , after a lovely tea celebrations for my youngest gd birthday . a very small but exquisite do , ( me , her parents and siblings ) birthday girl looked wonderful in her pink floating dress , silver shoes and shocking pink lipstick , perfectly in place to blow her candles out . stunning for a 2 year old lol
my bubble , but I've not actually seen since Dec, trying to protect them from me as I feel like I'm the potential high risk carrier . so today was good .
I've been taking notes as to where I'm running to , at some point when the world is alive again I intend to actually run there , the UK is full of interesting places , please keep the list going . I'm so inspired by you all
I've never heard of the books your talking about , at some point if I sit still long enough I'll look them up .
monna , loved today's words x

Pollyanna, I worked in the Liver building for a while. The views across the Mersey were lovely but the office was so cold. Papers would blow off the desk even when the windows were shut if the wind was in the wrong direction. It was in the late 1970s during the "winter of discontent " and we had lots of strikes. I can remember trying to find my way out of the building during power cuts and worrying whether my train home would be running.7
