Yes, the Fencers are certainly in the Halloween spirit. I do have some reservations about boultdj's waiters, though. I like their black cloaks and their pale makeup, but they never seem to be around in the daytime when you need them......One life - your life - live it!10

Well I've polished my brookstick. Hope you aren't all going to let the side down with scruffy ones.9

Can't edit - that should have been BrooMstick.9

Amanda, ( see what my tablet did there?) you don't happen to be posting on a tablet, do you? I do daily battle with mine, which is apt to officiously change Nargle into Marble and mardathur into MacArthur, but will happily leave words like dznger and spwrtzn as evidence of my poor finger control.
And what's all this about fencers being somewhat akin to a box of frogs?
Sniff!!! They seem perfectly normal to me.
Polly, eclectic or not, Giant Haystack is historical. Judge Judy is only verging on the historical.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Congrats Bertha. Glad to see everyone is mad as usual on here. The fence section here is now decorated for Halloween ahead of a village pumpkin trail for children.Thank you so much Jazee. I've been wondering what the oblong thing is next to the pm envelope. Clicked on it and the threads I bookmarked are all there. It makes sense now I know the oblong thing is a book.I doubt I could ever cope with a tablet Monna I can kill a laptop so lord knows what I'd do with a tablet. Probably hurl it across the room.Macarthur Park has reminded me of Richard Harris I can hear him singing it in my head now. I've all his cds somewhere. He was a bit of a wild boy and some thought him not much of a singer but I loved the songs Jimmy Webb wrote. Slides was my favourite. The disgraced teacher saying goodbye to his boys with advice for life. "Living well is the best revenge ,you can be sure" That became one of my mantras after the toxic ex along with "No one's ever gonna keep me down again" Rest well Helen Reddy you gave us all confidence to survive, thrive and help our sisters to find their inner strength, realise they could make good lives and never be kept down again.pollyx

I've decided I'll do security on Halloween. Someone has to protect those poor waiters, any police dogs and their handlers and whoever else gets caught up in the mayhem.I've just realised I've been living in two different time zones since Sunday and hadn't noticed, Everything automatically went back an hour except two alarm clocks which have to be changed manually and my beloved bone china Brambley Hedge wall clock. Strangly I was looking at the time on both and never realised until now.Is anyone finding thier sleep pattern has gone haywire without the normal things like Drs and hospital appts, going out more often etc?I often find myself up when I should be in bed. We used to have a regular routine but youngest is still sheilding at her BFs . I'm part of the bubble but am really restricting going out to essential things only.I decided to have a look at Hadrian's Wall in the early hours of this morning. Well Mar it isn't as tall as it once once. Sections are missing so no high jumping needed. I didn't realise it stretches from Wallsend on the Tyne and it's actually in Northumberland. My bil living in Devon was born in Wallsend and has always been a walker and climber so he'll know every inch of the wall. Someone who posted on the tougher threads for years lives in Northumberland sio I could assemble a little army to sort you out.I was watching Special Boat Services dropping from the helicopters onto the tanker off the Isle of Wight. Just nine minutes later they had the situation under control. You wouldn't want to mess with them Mar.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Wow, burtha! I wish I'd seen you! Was it for charity?
Polly I think it's been very disorientating having a completely empty diary and calendar (I have to write things in both or I forget them.)! Thankfully we are back to having the odd one or two appointments to write down. I sleep all right but have odd dreams.9
