Was a really horrible night, calmed this morning and now picking up again. Flood warnings out for all the Borders rivers and evacuation already underway in Hawick. My postcode has heavy snow from tonight until Wed so that's going to be interesting. Plus 60mph winds later on today - so I might be answering from Norway !

We have thunder, lightening, torrential rain and strong winds here, the satellite dish and solar panels have been dropped down to minimise the risk of damage. We run on a 12 volt system so we won't lose power. We're just hunkering down until it's over.Chin up, Titus out.12

We're very wet and windy and due to peak mid afternoon but we've been out this morning and unless you're actually physically standing outside in it (the rain is big drops and hurts when it hits because the wind is so strong) it's not looking too bad. We went out for petrol and coffee (garden centre very close to garage) and the road isn't flooded in the couple of places it usually does and the brook across the road is flowing normally so I don't think we've had as much rain as was forecast, perhaps I should say we've not yet had the rain forecast. In for the rest of the day and hopefully it will pass through and the winds diminish as the day draws on.8

We changed our plans to walk the Wales coast path from today to yesterday. A good move methinks. Not just due to weather, but developed a 'throat' on the drive back and am 'under the weather' in more ways than one today. Fighting it with lemsip and first defence, and crusty bread which is feeling lovely and scratchy on my throat..
Drove back through Snowdonia, a route that is flooded today. Ciara has just passed through here but hasn't lasted long, though wind and rain were terrific when she was here. I'm thinking it ain't over yet. Typing, typing today - penultimate chapter...thank god for lemsipI wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Hi! I joined a while back but my tablet died before I got to post much. I'd read this thread and really liked it but was never able to join in. My eldest son is letting me use his computer as Storm Ciara is making me housebound today, as I'm in the east of England it's only really got going in the last couple of hours. Anyway lovely to be here and I do hope this works....

A much gentler day today thank goodness and we even have a small glimmer of sunshine outside. No real disruption yesterday but very heavy rain and high winds meant staying in rather than doing anything outside so HWK has started sealing the floor tiles in the newly refurbished garden room and it's looking good so far. In the shop again this morning and hoping for a trip to Lidl this afternoon as apparently the usual spot on the main road isn't flooded despite yesterdays rain.7

Lost the pic in the Great Laptop Crash greenbee
The one that showed the 5ft tall coalhouse nearly covered in snow.
