Excuse me de-lurking, but it seems that if you thank the last post that you read on a thread, next time you go to that thread (if you are logged in) it automatically takes you to the first unread post, came across this by accident, but it has pleased me greatly. MM

Try going up to thw top right of the page and into your profile. In there somewhere there is "notifications" and that's what you want.

Going to make a big Yorkshire tea brew to recover from the day! Thanks for your help Mar will email you in a bit. I am never going to sign out ever again. Youngest in a post Methotrxate haze spending the weekend at her boyfriends has been a star. Lots of suggestions via email. She'd written the new password with a hyphen each end " for clarity" and in uppercase ditto.  Once I queried that it was no hyphens and use lowercase. By then both my brain and hands were struggling and I stupidly put a capital P in the user name box. Another email try all lowercase and here I am/ All the time I've seen my user name and I decide to do a capital P.

I'll now be able to go to the last page rather than the start of threads.

I did read the first page of this version of the fence from July 17 and that brought back many memories.

I'm finding posting a bit hit and miss. Did one here earlier after Mars which never appeared. After the log in chaos my charger blew up! I came up with a plan which seems to have worked so far. Battery has now gone from zero to 100%

My thanks to Mar for being there today.

Thanks also to ivyleaf. Can't remember if I read it last night or this morning but your post about Go to category after clicking the button to see what it did helped me as I tried to find my way around the forums.

May we all get through the storm safely.

ETA Does anyone know where the emojis are hiding. I really needed the Eek one today and couldn't work out where they are. Oh just glanced up above this post and spotted some but not the one I'm looking for.

I don’t think they’ve added all the emojis - we have a very basic set. However, if you use a phone or tablet you can use the ones that come with it 🥂🎉🍾😱 You May also be able to find/add an emoji keyboard on your laptop/desktop but I don’t know how so you may need to ask google!

Thanks greenbee. I;m on a laptop so will need to investigate. Another question for dd when she's back home. leaving her in peace at the moment after the login fiasco.

I'm listening to the wind howling , rain has started. Need to go to bed but warm and snug down here. I'll drag myself out of my comfy chair make a hot chocolate and fill 2 hot water bottles and head for the upstairs where the weather sounds much worse during a storm.

Hope everyone gets some sleep.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems with the new forum. I've only just worked out how to re-edit !

The weather is dreadful here and due to get worse !!! Can't even launch the Ark as it's too windy .

Our DGS stayed over last night and is eating me out of house and home DD will pick him up after lunch sometime. Don't think he's really bothered, he's probably ok until the food runs out
