I had logged out of here and not noticed. Shanks the RV is still deathly white and sleeping 22 hours a day, district nurse coming back tomorrow so I'm going to get her and grill her.
And before I get nasty aspersions mentioning elephants I mean grill as in polis techniques not elephant steak erm. Not anything else. ;););)
I've been to Inverness but canny remember it so it must've been a bad day. I prefer the west coast up there its more atmospheric I think. Pulls me back.

Mar, your recliner will be thinking you've abandoned it.

Not yet VIs, but getting a bit closer. Carpets have been laid. Still no boiler or bathroom, both of which are quite desirable. However, the fridge freezer is being delivered this afternoon.

Hugs to Mar and Monna. Hope things have improved for both of you today. Ive just gone really cold so put my halogen heater on before I go to bed. Busy with chrimbo but not getting far lol. We all agreed to not buy 'stuff' for each other so only things we need or will use up like chocolate :rotfl: Am doing little cross stitch coasters using those plastic coasters you can buy - 80p each and ive loads of bits of fabric and tons of threads, plus homemade mints dipped in chocolate with a little spray of silver lustre - that's brother and co sorted. Very frugal so far.

I've run out of steam and retreated back to the recliner. But this weather there's nothing else to do is there- it's horrible.
I loved making chocs Ginny, one year I gave the family all handmade chocs and biscuits and for once, everything turned out really well. I probly et more than I wrapped though..
I do think though that making your own Christmas and New Year cakes and savouries is a far better idea than buying in. The shop bought cakes I find now to be really tasteless and often don't agree with my tummy.
  • It's cold here, but what's new, it's December!

    Hope things are improving Mar.

The thing I like most about this time of uear is that the weather is so awful that nobody expects you to go out and be busy. In summer you feel guilty if you're indoors knackered. In mid winter, you feel smug & sensible. LOL!

I agree about the cakes Mar, a piece of cake should fill you up after a meal too but they don't. The taste is poor on shop bought and some sliced ones are only 2 small bites and over £1 packet. When you think how much cake you can chuck together with a 3lb bag of flour. I aways round up all those bits of stuff to chuck in them like an odd apple gets grated and added to mincemeat/ fruit cake/scones. I make oaty bars with any old fruit and nuts in. We have started going to a wholefood co-op once a month and buy big bags of beautiful fruit and nuts, a little expensive but you use less. I now have a big plastic tub with basic granola in (for hubby) and add lots of the stuff in and it lasts him ages.
