    Morning all..

Yes, it's a relief, she is so vulnerable and was spending a fortune (I think she's got through a couple of grand in a few weeks, £200 a night hotels at times...). the worry was that, when she ran out of money, she might do something drastic.

Really happy to see this thread back on the front page :T

I've an appointment at the hairdressers today (cut AND colour, 2 hours in the chair... soooo boring). I have given up reading their crappy celeb magazines - I used to quite enjoy them, but now I don't know anyone in them.. :rotfl: I will take a book to read while the colour takes, I rarely get to read books these days.. when I finish this damned thesis I am going to spend whole days reading..

It's a 5:2 day also, so I am having soup for lunch and dinner and chia pudding with berries for breakfast (how very millennial of me :rotfl:)
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Chicken casserole for thirty cooked today with green beans and mash.
Knackering peeling all those spuds but the rest of it was easy.

Steve's dismissal meeting tomorrow, I'll be glad when it's over.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Hester - any chance you could use frozen mash? I help do the odd supper at the sailing club and we buy frozen mash, spread out in trays with butter and seasoning - comes up a treat!
Hope things went as smoothly as possible today x

Unfortunately Silva I don't do the shopping, I just turn up and cook whatever has been provided, I think frozen mash sounds a good idea.

Steve found today's meeting emotional and exhausting, we will be informed of the panels decision in writing in five working days. Fingers crossed they decide in out favour.

We were in S'bury's today and OH spotted a ready-prepared chicken casserole with smoked bacon and button mushrooms. He quite fancied it. So we put it in the trolley, and then I decided it would be better to make one from fresh. So I put the ready-meal casserole back on the shelf and proceeded to collect the ingredients to make Chicken Burgundy, a very tasty recipe from the Everyday Diabetes cookbook.

I worked out afterwards that the ingredients cost at least twice as much as the ready meal, and that doesn't include the chicken thighs which I already have in the freezer :o

Ivy - Aldi do a very nice Garlic and Herb spatchcock chicken. I can usually get two meals each for the two of us out of it and I think it's about £3.50. All in a nice aluminium tray to whack in the oven.........my DS1 always said I cook like Ria in Butterflies if anyone remembers it lol

  • Hope all goes well Hester after the meeting and Steve gets apositive outcome without further stress. I home freeze mash but that still invoves lots of peeling. I have a disability friendly peeler but still dread doing it. I think it would depend on the budget at Stroke club and whether they have freezer space to spare.

Ivyleaf I bet your chicken casserole tasted much better than ready made. I've only eaten a few ready meals that come near to homemade. Mainly m&s and they're kept for exhausted days.

Hope everyone is ok. I've not been online much. Haven't noticed Monna lately so wishing her well and Mardy Mar.

    Take care fencers .
