Excellent! Congratulations to all. x Love the name but whilst they have the Irish, Welsh and English contributions what happened to the Scots? Maybe their surname is MacGregor!

Keir is a gaelic name common in both Scotland and Ireland. James Kier Hardie was born in Lanarkshire.

Lovely news Lyn I've been catching up so love and congatulations to Nell and Ruthie and all the family large and small. Time to breathe and enjoy.

Congrats to you and yours Mrs LW xx
  • Thank you so much, I've obviously met Frieda but poor HWK is in hospital with an as yet undiagnosed tummy bug so we couldn't go and look after the two other boys when DD2 went in to have Keir which is a big sadness because he was poorly at home on the day. Still no results back but I'm visiting today and hope to learn more, sadly he has this morning thrown a severe allergic reaction to something unknown and sounds very uncomfortable poor lad!

  • HWK discharged yesterday afternoon, sadly without any paperwork so I still have very little idea what we're dealing with as a pathogen in his gut. He's brighter today and is eating again albeit a bland and dairy free diet until he finishes a course of antibiotics. Have arranged with the GP to ring when the discharge notes are in at the surgery so we know if they could actually identify a virus or pathogen in any of the samples tested. He slept last night (hospitals are not condusive to a good nights sleep) and although still exhausted by the bug is altogether seemingly improved today, thank goodness!
  • Mrs LW hope HWK gets better soon
Look after yourself too. Have a hug from me.

Re John Lewis - does anybody know what the procedure is for returning items? Do you go to the counter you got the item at, or do you go to a Returns dept?

Morning all, I think we all have such busy lives that we don't get time to visit here so much. I regularly promise myself to do certain things but something else goes to the top of the list and pushes them out of the way.

I am happily sat at my 'new to me' dining table. Our old Ikea one was getting very wobbly despite hubsters ministrations and the top was worn so crafting was getting difficult. Popped in the local Cs and picked up a solid, heavy 1984 ( dates on the bottom) oval table with extra leaf -£20! Cost £15 delivery as neither of us is capable of manhandling stuff nowadays. Its amazing how much difference it makes, Dgd was lolling on it last night when we were making jewellery and it didn't wobble once. Also nothing falls off when the cat lands on it.

This cat is a bit of a bu**er, we rescued her for Dd a year ago but she didn't settle with her other twin kitties so when our old boy shuffled off the mortal coil we brought her here. She is soooo fussy with her food despite me trying every trick in my book. She started out sleeping on my bed preferably on top of my head but now , happily, sleeps on her blanket on the couch. She found if she jumped on the coffee table she could knock it over thus dumping my patterns, coffee and detritus on the floor then when I retrieved it she would casually kick the edge on her way to the kitchen and repeat the process - this habit was cured very quickly when she showered herself with my coffee(cold luckily)

Ah well back to the C word knitting. Hugs to all
