VJsmum I have double quilts on my single bed. I find single ones fall off when you turn over. If you have more double quilt cover than single give him a double. As long as there is room in the car double quilts can be more useful than single.
:) Ditto that; at 5 ft 10, even when I'm sleeping in a single bed, a single duvet just doesn't cover properly, he'll be much more comfortable with the double.

I live near several areas of student accomodation (as in under a handful of yards in a few cases) which has it's trials and tribulations. One thing which has always shocked me is the amount of Good Stuff the little darlings jettison as rubbish at the end of the academic year. You'd think they'd take it to one of the very many nearby charity shops, wouldn't you?

:p:o Mind you, the wombles in the neighbourhood do pretty well out of it sometimes, someone I know had a nice pair of speakers, much better than his own, and sold his own on.

It's settled, he wants a double. Which is excellent as we have several spare and they take up a lot of room.

last weekend we threw out 10+ black bin liners of rubbish when clearing DD's student flat. I didn't look in them to check what there was though i know one was full of half used jars / bottles of food and i just didn't have the heart to go through rinsing and sorting :o:( There was far too much other stuff to shift.

I have repurposed most of the stuff from the flat (some for DS to take) - there was a lot of broken / barely usable things. the only thing i feel really guilty about is a large pine dining table that is going to the tip, but could probably have been reused by someone... I still may chicken out of taking it and freecycle..
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Off out tonight , should be fun ... hopefully only a few pubs , lightweight now so not drinking... wouldn't stop me dancing on the tables though

  • Mar I agree. I call under the bed "the pantry." I'ts mainly tins, jars and spare packs of pasta that sort of thing.

FPK I will be able to have walks too when we move, I will stop envying you your walks.

I don't normally get heart burn but my cancer is in my stomach. I have stopped being dizzy. I was walking like a drunk too. I'm pretty sure it was so many buses one after the other. I normally spend some time walking around before catching the next one.

    Burtha - go girl! :T:j:beer:

NM - glad you've stopped being dizzy - its a horrible sensation. Do hope you and DS can find somewhere much nicer that suits you better too.

Off to Ryde today to check out the carnival - we only decided late last night so no chance to hook up with Monna. Staying overnight in a B&B as quite a few sherbets are likely to be consumed!

    :hello:

Am waving from Pembrokeshire with a lovely ever-changing sea view and a comfy sofa! We did an 8-mile section of the Coastal Path today with an awful lot of very steep ups & downs but I survived! Will see how I am tomorrow & whether I can move ;)

  • VJsMUM you can often find really good quality and almost new duvet sets in the charity shops at very reasonable prices. Seems people replace duvet covers with changes of decoration, I've even seen brand new ones! Might be worth a look?

All power to you Silva, wild horses wouldn't get me to Ryde on carnival day. When we lived just off the High Street I used to occasionally drift along to the end of the road to watch the parade for a while. Then I'd scuttle back home and turn the TV up to drown the noise. Yesss. I am officially old and boring and proud of it.

Have a great evening burtha, I nearly said "break a leg," but if you are determined to dance on tables I wouldn't like to be held responsible for anything.

Floss  We had a glorious week in Pembrokeshire in early Sept a few years back :)

It was sunny in Scotland too today but dusk is falling now :( DH has lit candles and tealights (who says romance is dead?!) and I am mooching on here while he eats his dessert.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
