Back in the early sixties as an apprentice hairdresser one of my jobs was to undo all the P traps to the basins every night to clean them out...........needless to say I use a strainer at home. Yuk doesn't begin to cover it!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

DDs both have long brown hair. Dh cleared the drain outside where the shower water empties and left something on the side which for all the world looked like a dead rat:eek::eek:
I know, but it is strangely satisfying when you oik it out :rotfl::eek::oI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Thank goodness. I am quite unnerved. I've just clicked on forum jump and up came a list of threads that started properly with August and September 2017 and continued with a pot poorly of forums dating back to 2009 and all stations in between. It was like entering a parallel universe.
Thanks tablet. Pot poorly????
Anyway, sighs of relief at being back in the present day!

Cheapskate You will get a strainer for the sink a lot cheaper in W!lko and you may get a sink brush there too. I got my brush from Kleenezy, cheaper than Lakeland.
As we have a walk in shower and no bath we wash our hair in the shower. DS runs his big toe over the drain and that gets them out if you do it every day. He just pushes it towards the shower door and leaves it there. I think he is too squeamish to pick it up. I always think it looks like he dropped his pubic hair on the way out. :rotfl:0 -
Monna That's what I get if I use Firefox. It does it with every thread.0

Evening all,
Nursemaggie, MIL had some independent shops she's used so will try those. She was a teacher so knows all about needing comfortable shoes and I'm sure nurses do as well!
Been into work today and home for pilates.m Off to bed very shortly. My hair is only shoulder length now, used to be waist length and it is very thick. I usually just clear the drain every time I wash it, but I've done my own fair share of double takes thinking what came out was a rat.:rotfl:0 -
Hi all,
Long day today ..
Started well , ran a couple of miles ....
Then ex turned up , kids didn't want to go with him ... so he's coming back tomorrow to take them for shoes and bags .... let's see what happens
Talked about house ,kids .... very odd , everything is so matter of fact .... I have no choice and will not lower my standards to get upset ,when he's here ....
But so odd , he's so emotionally switched off ....nothing
So ended up running around after kids , no change there :rotfl:, home alone for quite a bit so did a boot camp thing that annoyed me ... tumour makes things harder to do , so get frustrated , ...anyway did what I could then ended up going for a run ... again .... but at least I can still do that ....
So add in a couple of dog walks , think today I have done enough ...
So frustrated, annoyed, headache, ... but will be better tomorrow , hopefully may get some sleep tonight ....
But on the plus side kids seam ok today ....
Just want to fast forward the next 6 mth please ...

Oh burtha, it's so hard when you have to be your own other half. Doubly so when your health is as iffy as yours is.
In many ways it is easier when you can cut off all contact, but when you have children even that is denied you. The disentangling of lives that have been lived together for as long as yours have and that were intended to be for life is painful beyond words. The complications are mind blowing.
Interesting that the children didn't want to go with him. It almost sounds as though they are mentally beginning to disengage from him.
Eventually you will be able to do the same, but sadly that is something that only time can accomplish.
Sweetie, if running helps you cope that's good, but your mind and emotions are already exhausted so please look after your physical health. Give your poor body a break and pamper it with rest and treats. You would do it for your best friend, well, treat your body as your best friend.
I am mentally holding your hand and walking beside you. You are never far from my thoughts.

Thinking of you burtha xx I love what monnagran says about treating your body as your best friend.0

burtha love I agree with all Monna has said . I was a runner and an athlete until illness slowed then pretty well stopped those things . I can understand that running etc frees a lot of what's weighing you down mentally right now and does boost a brief feel good thing . Do keep that tumour in mind . I know headaches are daily life now for you but your not getting restful sleep you're working yourself into the ground and carry worry on your shoulders .
Your two youngest are old enough to see the truth now and he will be all the poorer for it . One day that bubble will burst and he'll fall to earth with one helluva bang . Lilo Lil must be utterly dim and deluded unless he's met someone who's walked away from their family too .
I'm sure if we could we'd all willingly fast forward you six or even 12 months into a settled time . For now we are here and have your back . One day at a time .
much love
