You can go to your local council and they can do something about it karcher. It is so difficult for DS to get to work so it makes sense for us to move over there. It is a bit difficult for the council when it is everyone that adjoins us because they have to get proof from your neighbours.

Have you tried having a word with your neigbours, karcher.

I haven't directly but they have been made aware of the issues but aren't the type to care.

The noise is generally during what are considered reasonable hours ie. 7am to 11/12pm so there isn't much anyone can do unfortunately.

I really hope you do manage to move soon nm it sounds so far from ideal for you. So sorry you've had to put up with it for so long. xx

  • Hugs to Karcher and NM suffering from nasty neighbours.

Burtha I hope you are ok.

Well the bicarb/bleach mixture was only marginally successful, I may try dynamite next.

My lovely Polish mechanic repaired my car window with a 2nd hand part to keep the cost down, so now my window opens and shuts again.

Another boat clean for me today, I think it's going to be cooler which will be a blessing!
    Chin up, Titus out.

Morning Fencers, been away for a few days, and only just catching up on fave threads

Burtha, do hope things are gentle for you this week, and that you can keep on keeping on.

    Boo to unpleasant neighbours. :(

Need some help, please. The bathroom washbasin is blocked, I know it's partly my fault, as my hair is coming out in handfuls at the mo due to recent stress. I used to use a certain unblocker in a bright orange bottle, but want to save money, so wondered what OS means I can use. In the cupboards, I have bicarb, baking powder, vinegar, w/up liquid, bleach. TIA. :)

    A xo

Caustic soda from Wilko would do as good a job as the orange bottle. You have to be just as careful with both of them so it's no more scary. Good rubber gloves, long sleeves and goggles.

Just remember to add the powder to the liquid very slowly not the other way round. It gives off fumes so have the window open and hold your breath as you pour it slowly down the drain
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Bucket under the trap and take it off and empty it.

Get a plughole strainer (lakeland?) to catch the hair in future.

You might find a button/crochet hook or similar down the plughole pulls the worst of it out. I have a plughole brush (probably lakeland) that I use for the shower plughole.

Yep. Exactly. That's what makes you get a plughole strainer...

DDs both have long brown hair. Dh cleared the drain outside where the shower water empties and left something on the side which for all the world looked like a dead rat:eek::eek:
