    MrsL did you stay home?

Did they get the kitchen finished before the lekertrisity went off Mar? Imagine that happening a couple of days ago. Demented!

You too nan, wet and windy here too.

  • Thank you for the welcome girls...........

Yea this stove is just too hot to be honest , ive got a sleeveless cotton summer night dress on and doors open through to hall and its too much ......The thermometre is about 22 feet away at the top of hall and its reading 26 degrees  so in this sitting room it must be 30 or more , plus ive only got 1 log on a bed of red ash .......I wont open my bedroom door as I like the bedroom really cold in to sleep with the window open , well insulated and I cant open the stair door cos im in a bungalow....So cook it is ......
But if thats all ive got to moan about I shouldnt grumble as lots poor people are the opposite........

Its a little windy here tonight but no rain ....Ive got to get outside tomorrow and do some tidying in the garden , grass now needs its final cut of the year .......

Hope you are all well ...Sheila

    Hi all,

I hope I am in the right place!

I have just started my DMP, first payment due in about a week or so, there's a small flicker at the end of the tunnel, or, that could be my eyesight going, I've started with PayPlan, they seem genuinely concerned and have a lot of time for you.

Anyone have any hints, tips or tricks?

    TIA.

  • We did get to the rugby and it was one of the most boring games I've ever attended BUT in the last seconds of the game we scored a try to draw with the opposition and then made the conversion to win 14 to 12 and the whole stadium jumped to it's feet with a roar and threw their arms in the air (including us) so it was a moment worth being there for. We got home without any problems and the weather wasn't nearly as dire as the forecast had suggested it might be. Today I have a concert in the evening for the 100 years since the ending of WW1 celebrations and it's 'The Armed Man' by Carl Jenkins which is modern and fairly powerful as a piece of choral music. I've heard it live before and there is one sequence where the choir sing 'a nuclear holocaust' which literally makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck with dissonance. Should be interesting as it's not just the choral society but a day workshop where the public can go and sing as well (NOT ME) and it culminates in the actual performance at 6 tonight. Hope DD1 can manage some voice as she's had the awful cold that's been doing the rounds and is coughing well at the moment. I shall go in on the bus this afternoon if she is singing and go and meet her for coffee before we go home from the workshop before the performance.

Tomorrow looks to be a better and drier day than today and we'll walk down to the village for the Remembrance parade, I feel it's only right to mark the centenary in the community and then if the day is dry I suspect we'll spend some of it on the allotment which is coming along nicely and getting clearer each time I go.

I'm glad the rugby had a happy ending Lyn! I hope the concert goes well and that DD gets some voice back.

Better go and try to persuade the cat that he wants to come in before it gets dark....
