We have a breakfast out on Saturday mornings in different pubs / cafes:
2 x bacon, 2 x eggs, black pudding, white pudding, soda, potato bread, mushrooms, tomato, beans & toast for Mate (his father was a butcher - he won't eat commercial sausages) and 2 x sausages, 2 x bacon, 2 x eggs, black pudding, white pudding, soda, potato bread, mushrooms, tomato, & toast (no beans - I like them but not on a fry).
Most places are £4.90 - £5.00: one is £6.00 but it does proper Portabello mushrooms & fried (not grilled) tomatoes.
Sets us up for the day.0 -

Witless, I'll put my order in now: 2 x sausages, 2 x bacon, 2 x eggs, black pudding and mushrooms please. I like spinach on mine too, but I'll do without if it means I don't have to cook it.
I ate a lot more bacon, eggs and sausage in England than I normally do, just because it's readily available and easily fits my diet. I also drank more alcohol (ahem) and went wild with the calories some days. I've unintentionally lost half a kilo. Oh well, more bacon for me
(And Shanks!)
Actually this morning is a chia flax pudding morning. With double cream.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Will everyone please stop talking about Bacon ? Listen to Fuds you are all very, very Norty . Spare a thought for those of us mourning our loss of bacon . I may cry and you wouldn't like it .

Ok in an attempt to restore a level of what passes for normal on this fence . I'd like to say how much I'm enjoying your tales of the kitten Ivyleaf . They're hard work at times but a lot of fun . The cat of my heart was actually at least one when we adopted him . He'd been found in a skip and had been rather weirdly named Skippy by the RSPCA but that disappeared when we left for home . Like Bagpuss the whole neighbourhood loved him . He was like a kitten until he died . He used to lie in the catmint stuffing himself then run through the house up and down the stairs for ages while we were rolling about laughing until he collapsed in a drugged heap .Goodness, what a grey, wet morning! I'd planned a trip to the nearest stockist of the only shampoo that doesn't upset my scalp (Softstuff knows which one
), and to a shoe shop in the same place which stocks a particular brand of slippers that don't make my feet hurt, but perhaps I'll leave it a day or two....
It's meant to be dry this afternoon, but I have something else to do then; a pre-op assessment by telephone! It does sound odd, but it's for my second cataract operation, and everything else has been already done at the follow-up appointment for the first eye so I suppose they just need to check whether i'm on any new medication, for example.
I've been catching up on the Kondo thread, which is inspiring as always
DS said he'd heard the kitten crashing around in the kitchen late last night so i came down expecting to find a scene of destruction, but all I found was the kitchen towel on the floor. He did knock my glass of water over yesterday, and pull the net curtain down the day before, so perhaps he thought we deserved a break
He's still at the stage where he hurtles around the house like a mad thing, then suddenly falls asleep. He'll grow out of it!
ETA Oh poor greenbee,, having to go all that way for such a short stay
He used to run up the curtains too so lets hope yours grows up in a more sedate manner . Mind you it was free entertainment so very mse .
Peter Kay alert he's on bbc1 now . Think you'll like it Fuds a mix of allsorts not just car share .
