Hi all, rough couple of days in which DS's mental health issues have come to a(nother) head. The link is always alcohol and I've begged him to lay off it for a bit - I think it makes him lose reign of his thoughts and negative feelings.
So, pleasures must be found
Tuesday
1. An early start with lift out of ICT from friend who coincidentally had been there the night before. Train to Wrexham, lots of messages, "do not go to Shrewsbury" - so up to Chester, then Crewe then home. only an hour longer than usual so quite a result.
2. DS picked me up from the station as my bag was very heavy
3. Watched "Hidden"..
4. OH cooked chicken curry
5. Got our old sofa out the front for collection from the bin men.... as did next door so our close looked a bit 'rough'
Wednesday
1. out for a walk with friends, and coffee and their home baked goodies.
2. home for a quick top up lunch then out for coffee with other friends
3. home for an hour and then to the flicks with DD to see "Parasite" which was a roller coaster and rather fab
4. home for a (as it turned out unnecessary) lecture preparation
5. then it all blew up with DS. THe pleasure is that he can and will talk to me, long may he continue to do so.
Have a nice afternoon, evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Primroses blooming on a bank on the motorway as we drove past.
Chickens from the poultry unit we passed all out in the sun enjoying outside time on the grass.
Top to bottom cleaning and polishing the house, it looks and smells nice.
Lambs and their mums in fields in the sunshine as we drove home, pinging about as they do, so cute!
A day off to do what's needed and also what we want to has been very much enjoyed.

BOP, well done on completing the contract up mill. For yesterday
1 I’ve re-broken down the budget to know what we spend to pets/birds, Groceries and Garden, to keep an eye, and chuffed it seems to be well on track, thanks to savvy shopping and we have changed habits, we only look for rtcs once a month now as I spend extra if in there, and we have also cut down on journeys, it has all helped a lot.
2 C0stco pizza slice was dinner.
3 Cleaned out the ferret cages all fleeces to the wash, with a lot of help.
4 Numerous bulbs coming up now, but it still feels to cold to venture out and garden like it needs just yet.
5 In the warm.
For today1 Writing inspiration coming to me in the wee hours, and spent a good while trying to remember it today some has come back now.
2 A bit of washing and oven cleaning today, but I must properly do bits tomorrow.
3 Birds and fish fed.
4 Fish pie with courgette and sweetcorn for tea, not DH’s favourite he doesn’t like this healthy business.
5 DH found an article on touring Canada but in an RV and I think I fell down a rabbit hole, looking into how, costs, hidden costs, sites, mapping you name it site after site links.

Hello. And once again the workety work is done! By Jove! My busiest cooking day ever ( though was 11 short of ever ever!) Fantastic tips! Swearing more than I usually do but managing to laugh at the never ending -ness of the day and a few brief moments to say a quick hellos to a few folk I know that were in.
DD2 kindly picked me up . We had chips for tea.Beautiful Walk to work this morning. All crunchy in the snow. Early morning Dog walk was only a quick one as in just until he’d done his business but I so longed to walk for ages. And just a quick one again there when I got in from work. Will need to walk him later as son is away.I’d ordered a photo book from photos of our last 2 weeks together as five of us. It came today and it’s beautiful.13 -
Enjoy Edinburgh & I’m there next Sunday at murrayfield.
1) lovely walk into work, dropping bag of stuff off at cs (am decluttering a bag a day for lent)

3) 2pm meeting was blissfully short so managed to have lunch before 3pm meeting
4) home in the light and did a litter walk with the dogs then decluttered another bag for the cs, this time from the kitchen
5) then cooked yummy sweet and sour with enough for tomorrow, followed by a lovely bubble bath.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Happy belated birthday, Lainey.
Hope your son gets on OK, VJsmum. These things aren't the easiest to sort out.
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens OK.
3) This forum is doing random line spacing again but I'll press on... Heard that I most likely will be a museum mentor so I can officially sign museum's paperwork off now.
4) Smaller son and I went to canal town and ate our sandwiches near the floods (let's face it, wherever we ate would be near a flood!)
5) HM chicken kievs for tea.
6) Watched Hospital, though it was sad.
7) Sent bigger son a bar of chocolate, a couple of photos and letters from me, my parents and my brother. Smaller son wrote "You are a turd" with a smiley face, which I am sure is a sign of affection!

Thinking of you both VJS.
For yesterday,
Woke up to drizzly rain which quickly changed to heavy snow by time left for yard at 8am.
My lovely farrier who turned up to do girlie’s feet despite the above and having a really bad back, he was going to see his chiropractor straight after.
Home, very cold and wet so the pleasure of coffee & eggs on toast for a late breakfast.
By lunchtime the sun had come out and all the snow gone, the school children must have been so disappointed!
Cold clear night by the time small dog needed last comfort break of the day, enjoyed sight of a crescent moon with Venus nearby.

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday......
Not in work until lunchtime so I went and did grocery shopping. I needed a few extra things for this week so I did next weeks while I was there - it seemed like a good idea.
Work - busier than the last couple of days so passed fairly quickly. Good company and no stress.
The weather stayed dry which was good as the HT has to walk home on my work days.
Went to HT's "Expectation evening". Helpful talk about revision and collected his report which wasn't as bad as I expected but he needs to engage more. I've told him that already (nicely) so we may be having more words along the same lines.
Home for waffles and ice cream because we could, It was good to come home to a warm house and a happy cat after being out in the cold.
PK I can imagine the kind of "help" that you had cleaning the ferret cages
VJ I hope ds is OK. Mine can be up one day and totally down the next but as you say at least he talks to me
DD you've reminded me that I need to find some LGBT friendly stuff for the HT to do. He has a fairly good social circle but often feels a bit left out.
Take care all of you11 -
Suffolksue thinking of you
Frith I think that's brotherly love - not able to show affection openly
VJ it's good that your son will talk to you.
1. Finished work for the week.
2. Had free lunch at work and free coffee in minibus on way to work.
3. Using up veg in fridge for tea.
4. Went to pub with DH and DS1 met people there and had a chat.
5. Finished my book.11
