For yesterday,
Was meant to be having a lie-in but woke just before 7 and with the wind howling around the cottage couldn’t get back to sleep so finished my book instead, this year I am keeping a list of all completed and it’s my fifth book so far.
Over to the yard and princess pony has been moved to a new stable, almost twice the size of her old box and very light & airy, was a bit worried as she hates any change to her routine but seemed very settled already.
Home and walked small dog, still very breezy but when the sun peeped out there seemed a tad more warmth in it. A lot of the hedgerows are in either bud or blossom.
Capt S went out to fill his car up and surprised me with a box of my favourite Lindor chocs, what a sweetheart he is.
Nothing much of interest of the tv so we had a few games of Yahtzee which got sillier as the level on the wine bottle went down!
Drifted off to sleep imagining my horse laying down and stretching her legs out in that lovely thick straw bed.13 -
Not got round to posting for a couple of days.
1. Started painting downstairs. It will need a second cost but is already looking better.
2. Went out for a meal with DH. It was enjoyable.
3. Finished watch The Stranger.
4. The sun appearing at times. On occasions could feel the warmth of it. I feel so much better with the sun out.
5. Met a friend for coffee. We had a good catch up and looked round the local garden centre.
6. Seeing the start of spring - blossom starting to appear and spring bulbs appearing.15 -
Coffee out at a different garden centre and a pair of new trousers in their sale.
Wild daffs, crocuses, multitudes of feral snowdrops and pink blossom on the roadside verges and through the woods as we drove home.
Spring lambkins in the fields with their mums in the sunshine.
View across to the Malverns from the garden centre car park and some trick of the light made the hills cobalt blue, quite spectacularly stunning!
As always when we drive the awareness that we live in the most beautiful county in England, that the land is looked after properly with the hedges cut, the ditches dug and the woodlands managed. The ploughed fields, properly pruned vineyards and orchards with sheep grazing under the trees and the realisation that we are indeed so lucky to have found it!

Pleasures for yesterday
1. Finding just the 'thing' to complete my sister's birthday pressie and got it posted
2. writing / drafting the last chapter continues... the pleasure is that this is the last 'draft from scratch' chapter (as far as I am aware, anyhow)
3. A walk by the sea but by 'eck it were parky. at least it was dry.
4. the rugby - ah well, Cymru, at least it was a cracking game and i'd rather lose to the French than any other team (yes, including England. Never been an England supporter, must be the Welsh blood)
5. Ant and dec, the voice, tea (locally made stilton and mushroom quiche with salad) on the sofa and gin. Still carried on working but was good background distraction
Have a good afternoon and evening all - the sun is out here and another circuit by the sea beckons
I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) £4 left until Tuesday so some strange meals!
3) Hens OK.
4) Had a bonfire on the allotment of fallen twigs and general rubbish.
5) Brother came round for board games.
6) My writings for work went off for someone high up to see (as in high up nationally! This all completely unnecessary and I'm not terribly impressed). Anyway, in 700 pages, she found a handful of typos. I said it was fine... So back there tomorrow and I shall say I will be quietly walking out of the next meeting if anyone tries to rip my work apart again and shouts that "they'll prove me wrong".

For the weekend
1 We stopped in at lidl for bread and their weekend offer of their washing oxi as I use it in the animal bedding loads and it works well and the cheese offer for us, and while cheaper, it all took us over budget.
2 Travelled to visit the in laws, who fed and watered us, and dh’s db also visited, well always visits him, nice they stay in touch.
3 Argh budget, the ferrets have the joys of spring are playing too hard one now has a boil on his jaw which is getting bigger not better, so another vet trip next week, ironically the refund from earlier this is very welcome to balance things this month.
4 A late dinner is fish and veg
5 I did a bit more clearing, we have a draw of old towels and any that don’t fit have created a big bag for the vets, I tidied a few other bits, still more to do.
