Good evening and happy new year to all

Can't remember my last post so sorry for any repeats but pleasures for last few - in no particular order

    1. Good NYE, visit to niece and her children, lunch on way to SiL, Sis in law in the afternoon, other Sis in law to see in the new year
    2. SLept at MiL and it was heaps better than when she comes here
    3. Worked on Monday and made some progress
    4. Washing went on the line
    5. used up all the Christmas food and only threw away some coleslaw and one spoonful of mash

Doesn't Monday seem a long time ago?? :p
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hello. I’ve just came upstairs to bed ...again kind of done with today and tomorrow is of course another day.

Well I just wanted to go to sleep and wake up in a new year without the hullabaloo of waiting for the bells...guess who woke at 11.58pm? Moi! Silently raged at my insomnia, said Happy New Year 2 minutes later, growled at the noisy fireworks and went back to sleep!

Heard the revellers come in about 2.30am. Came down this morning ( gasping for air as they’d put heating on and house was boiling) to cold chips, cold cups of tea. Jackets, bags, shoes!

Me and my doggy went to the allotment. It was good to be there and I need to make it a habit again. Just one other chap came in with his puppy. A very sweet little daschund.

Pulled weeds from one bed and dug it over. Saw a pesky rabbit and a pretty robin.

    Made veggie soup.

Went to the mothers. Who was in a bit of an odd mood. Took son. It was such a cold wind on the walk there and back.

Made for dinner (which traditionally would be a steak pie) : roast pumpkin ( my own) feta , chopped up veggie sausages ( Rtc 25p) in salad leaves. Roast potatoes and parsnips. Made a loaf of seeded bread.

Made the most fabulous pavlova served with cream and tinned peaches. I’m loving our guest ...she eats anything and everything!

Chats to friend and sister on phone.

Sue big squeezy hugs to you and your OH. You can say anything you like here. And no not a bad way to go. But hang on to him as long as you can ...it’s a tad hard without them. Thirty four months today since my husband died and as always each month I think ‘and how can it even be? ‘ and each and everyday I’m surprised he’s gone. And yes, life does indeed go on and yes, you can manage but it’s all rather pants that you have to. So hold on for now. Kiss him on the head gently while he sleeps ...just because you still can x
  • You made me cry.

Such lovely words of encouragement. And good advice.

Am thinking now of all my lost loved ones. At least we carry them with us.........and now I am making myself cry.

Gotta go but lots of love to all aching hearts.

    Pleasures -

A new day, new month, new year and new decade. I love new beginnings.

Lie in this morning as I was on night shift last night. We toasted in the New Year with fake champagne (alcohol free). It was filthy. If you see the name Freixenet and it's pinkish and bubbly, avoid.

Sunshine today, and dog running happily in the park, trying to herd a spaniel puppy. She can't help it, she's a Border Collie, and a sweeter-natured dog you couldn't imagine.

Putting away the Christmas decorations, with the assistance of a 16 week old kitten, who helped me sort the tinsel and the baubles.

A mini bottle of Prosecco with my evening meal, served half and half with orange juice, just enough for two champagne flutes full.

SuffolkSue 's reminder to enjoy the moment while you can, we never know what lies ahead. Six months now since my husband died. 2019 was a challenge, up to and after his sudden, unexpected death, but I lived through it and there were sunshine moments amidst the shadows. I am ready for good things in 2020, bring it on!

Off to bed now, early, to catch up on lost sleep, but I have some good books to read for a while, and Classic FM playing on Alexa. I will also have the animals- two cats and a dog- keeping me company. Life doesn't get much sweeter.

Happy New Year one and all, and I promise you 2020 is going to be awesome for all of us, if we open our minds to it.
One life - your life - live it!

    Warning, a not-pleasure.

My eldest son was found dead today, we think mid-seizure.

Amidst the shock, pleasure of wonderful memories 1-infinite but dear gods the shock.

All strength to all who have walked & who anticipate this path.
