1. Collected DS1 suit from M and S foosball at work. It was very easy and suit was ok to bring home in the bus.
2. Hopefully helped a colleague who is having a tough time. I let her rant and offered advice.
3. Emailed boss to arrange a meeting for tomorrow about various things. I want my day and input before new staff start as things won't change after they have started.
4. Finished an enormous pile of ironing and paired loads of sicks. Pleasure is that it is done.
5. Spoke with a neighbour. Haven't talked to her for a month or so.0 -
Monday pleasures,
Woke early so read for a while, latest is Broken Ground by Val McDermid, good stuff.
Warm, muggy day so hard to get motivated for much but a few chores ticked off list.
Picked up a new lunge line as mine had snapped, didn’t owe me anything as was over 11 years old!
Text chat with DB and arrangements made to meet up this week.
Meat free monday so nut burgers with pesto pasta.0 -
dfv I have consulted a professorial friend who says
"They didn't have "the naughty step" in Rome. They did have the stocks. The Latin for "the stocks" is "jugulae". (That's probably why "jug" is slang for prison.) Does that help?"MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Oh I see that the Latin class has gone wild. Let that be a lesson for you!
Nows BoP had the chili tagatelly last nite for his superb dinner and theres enuff left for another dish this weak as well. That is what it is like to has yours proper foods and not that listeria infested ready cooked five weaks ago carp from the emporium! Got it.
Unfortunately Raffles is not up to his job today on the yellow thing. No more later!
Now where is the BoP. At the mill munching his treaty lunch box. Today we has the proper digestives to go with the usual. There.
This weakened theres the Armed Forces Day events and the Vets BreakFests, free at the jug plaice, as well as the spitfire at the JAM. Note BoP is inn at the JAM this Sunday. Viewing recommended, and we has the best cake in the land. If that does not tickle yous fancies, than I don’t knows what!
Tonight, in trepidation for Sundae, BoP is inn the gym with his beach ready body!
More from BoP tomorrow.

DH has been diagnosed yesterday with PSP ( progressive supra nuclear palsy ) and MSA ( multiple system atrophy) both are as awful as they sound ,Talk yesterday was of Palliative care etc
They are doing research and he has agreed to be part .they are concerned about the speed of deterioration but there is no treatment .
Feeling pretty flattened ,not sure how much he has taken in .
Pleasures!
Their kindness and caring
Friends and family - no one knows what to say but they are there
I was 70 last week and the house is full of flowers etc
Nothing else to say really ,but I love the Latin !!0 -
Up on The Gallops again, LW cricket on.
Blackcaps & is listening with interest. Today Anyone But Strylia shades Anyone But Albion.
Sporting, & - will doubtless be rumbled next match.
It was a toss to lose and Albion won it, but won't win anything else today. Joss Buttler's just gone.

1. Pouring rain this morning. Gushing down, overflowing gutters in coralux corner. All of a sudden, grape vine greenery has exploded. Will there be grapes? Might have to wait a year, after extreme pruning, post-cropping last autumn.
2. Derek Jarman, botw, R4:

3. As ever, grateful again for Magic M, mgr in MrT phone shop. Data topped up y'day, but as a dodo ever since. His patience, knowledge, lateral thinking are always equal to notspottery mess. Today also.
4. Surgery+NHS. Prescription anomaly? thought &. Had to check. Dealt with promptly, new appt and recall blah-blah. More will follow.
Thankyou.
5. Surely that's J? And P? Oui, BIG catch-up. Lovely, really good. Long enough for &'s long hair to dry! Heard much to cheer.

Suffolk Sue - I know Frith doesn't do hugs. Please, if you can, accept some inadequate words if any will do.
I am so aware of Broomstick, mhags, MrsLw, PK, and doubtless others, going through difficult times, cruel adjustments and, simply, loss.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Thank you Ampersand and Frith ,I too,am aware others having just such a tough time .
I just want to do my best for him ,he seems to have shrunk since yesterday .
It is only 4 months since we went away with the U3A and he just needed his stick ,now we are investigating hoists ( NH S supplied ) suppose that's the progressive bit !
Stokes has just gone so suspect that's it for England !0 -
SuffolkSue and Broomstick, thinking of you both.
Feeling a bit bemused, all the work that has come up that’s interested in me is hundreds of miles from home.
1 I researched what I really want to do, there are 2 vital reference books I can read in the library so we agreed to buy one of them to start with as some holiday reading.
2 Plastered, sanded and re plastered a wall, I paint it tomorrow.
3 I booked us into a few steam fairs.
4 I am enjoying using up what we have and today I cooked up a chilli, we had some good quality dark choc leftover from Christmas, that I also put in, and I am surprised how much it has added to the taste.
5 I’ve started a bit of clearing down, completely cleared where the boiler is going to be upstairs, and started to think about collecting big boxes to pack kitchen things in and put them out to clear the kitchen.
6 Watching Brian Cox, I enjoy it but sometimes just feel like it's alot of facts and figures.:o0 -
