5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

1. I bought some nice things in a new (to me) charity shop.
2. I'm sending off a donation to a horse charity I support, that usually makes me feel good.:)
3. I found a new greengrocer and bought some very cheap garlic and ginger.
4. I was in a bad mood this morning, but I feel better now.:p
5. I'm going to drop off the donation at the post box and then get into my pyjamas and get all cosy when I get home.:o0 -
Bedtime here. Friend has just been & gone after signing sons passport photos.
Work. Busy. Paid.
Went into city with DD1, she had a very unusual day off. No work. No uni. So we took things up to cancer hospital. Books, games, puzzle books. Might be my last time ther. Just being there makes me emotional.
Lunch.
Saved a fortune on a pair of boots I was hoping to buy. They don't have my size in any shop in the whole of Victoria .
Wandered through laneways. Sat in cathedral. Sat on steps at Fed Square enjoying an ice lolly, people watching.
Train and I got off at local hospital & met DD2 there for an appointment .
Home , hello Mr Dog, let's go a nice walk .
Dropped off some stuff at neighbours.
Gave bag of candles to friend when she came.
Have a good day0 -
Well after DD and her blue rinse had me in kittens, along comes friths lad and I tell you now. I’m bladdered! Visons of the soft rubber bladder in a leather football. That would certainly sort yous out.
5 Now back at the mill and less than fifty days until the apple of big again. BoPsie tried to get some Giants tickets. Will try again later.
4 Watched Scott of the Antarctic yesterday. I remember reading the book about it years ago in skool, before the language of inglish teacher put us all off and decided JR Tolkien was a good read. I often think why those of us that had fluff were wanting to get on the toys in college than read that carp! I digress! Still gets me about the adventure that we had and now all we do is bullshine on buck of face!
3 Elevenses. Seems the supply of cakes of Jaffa on offer has been exhausted at the emporium. This week, a very special elevenses biscuit. Ginger, but not a nut as you know it. Shortbread with stem ginger! Wonderful. I actually thought all ginger came from a root. I is mistaken in my thoughts and as readers inn the parish know, I is never wrong. So it is a root ginger shortbread nut. Please note, it says on packet item manufactured in a facility that also processes nuts! There!
On talk of emporium. Very pleased that so far this year the import of cheap tack for the day of evil has not hit the shelves. Please avoid evil, if you do see it, remove the items from the shelf in a separate trolley. Evil has no place in society.
2 Night again BoP will be inn his piste ready kit down the gym. That should be a stiffener then. More tomorrow!
Such is the words of BoP this fine day!0 -
OS pleasures of two very OS 26 year olds...
1. Woodburner. Spent Friday night listening to the radio (Victoria Coren Mitchell interviewing Sheila Hancock, and a few other things) with fire on and wine in our hands. Bliss.
2. On Saturday morning OH cleaned the house top to bottom, whilst I:
Went to the supermarket
Went to the bank
Made an apple tart
Made a roasted squash and sage soup
Prepped mushroom wellington and parsnip mash
Prepped rhubarb crumble, with rhubarb from the garden
3. Then at 2pm we went to a family BBQ - joint 60th and 2nd birthday parties - they made us delicious vegan food and we brought an apple tart. Had a few laughs.
4. Our friend (a neighbour in his 70s who is great fun!) came over for dinner with the most fabulous couple of wines. He said he thoroughly enjoyed the meal, which made me super happy!
5. On Sunday morning we had a very relaxed few hours, with DD reading, me cutting out fabric for my new skirt, and hubby tinkling on the piano.
6. Sunday afternoon it was off to my mums for another dinner party - hosting friends she's known for nearly 40 years. She made thai coconut soup, vegan nutty pad thai, Sri Lankan squash curry, coconut sambal and veggie thai red curry with jasmin rice. Really pulled out all the stop.
7. Sat at my desk, where I finally feel a bit relaxed

1. Sat in the car listening to the rain beating down on the roof for an hour whilst DD was doing her netball training (thankfully inside!)
2. Would have been a NSD but for needing to spend £47 on kit for DD....
3. A great, hectic, busy, slightly noisy day at school. Need to reinforce those behaviour expectations methinks....but on marking the work, the majority had kept up their end of the bargain!
4. Felt like I was getting more into my stride in terms of knowing the children's abilities today.
5. Scrumptious dinner with leftovers for lunch tomorrow, yum!0 -
Quick pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens well and one egg.
3) Got a £10 evoucher for M and S, just for putting my life assurance account online. That will buy bigger son a birthday cake etc next week.
4) Into town, looked round charity shops but didn't buy anything.
5) Started stripping the paint off the stairs. It looked awful in juxtaposition with the new plaster so it's going!
6) Had duck pancakes for supper.
7) Watched First Dates.0 -
1 Had a rather lovely weekend at a steam fair which was based in an airfield and museum.
2 DH met with a friend and sold all the bits he took, made a little profit, and also traded with the same person who purchased anyway…
3 Found some rather lovely t shirts snaffled now we are several sizes smaller.
4 I also have a bag of bulbs to get in the ground from a great seller there, they have always been good.
5 Eating from the freezer tonight, haddock and veg.
6 Enjoying that clean just bathed feeling.0 -
Morning,
Up early, worrying about 1st aid course.
1. Experimented with craft kit I bought at the craft fair. Made a dog tag for our doggie.
2. Computer and printer now working again! IT guy is amazing!
3. DH has found someone to fix the shower. This sounds expensive!
4. Talked through the plans for kitchen extension with nice architect guy last night. Sounds great, but little nest egg has shrunk while we have waited for the plans, and now not sure we can afford it.
5. Quilted another square on my bedspread.
Frith - DS1 has been nothing but a worry since he was about 13 years old. He is now 22, and I am still waiting for him to settle down. Friends with boys reassure me it will happen.......eventually! Meanwhile, we just need to be there for them. :A
Have a lovely day.0 -
We were given a bag with golf balls in not good balls!
1. Laughed at interview on the radio on way to work. Good way to start the day.
2. Work was ok. Someone on leave for two weeks and a much lighter atmosphere.
3. DS2 cooked risotto for tea. It was good and DH enjoyed it while maintaining he doesn't really like rice.
4. Tidied the hall or at least partly. Everybody's shoes seems to be a problem. I'm good at putting mine away but that seems beyond the capability of DH and DS2
5. Spoke to DS1 he is happy in his new job and is doing more that will help him be promoted.0 -
Some Monday pleasures,
A decent start weather wise so could get some washing out on the line.
Bowl of HM veggie soup and toasted cheese sarnie for lunch after a fast morning.
Lulu was fitted for a new saddle, chose a secondhand leather one, pleasure was lovely saddler took my old one and reckons she can sell for approx £300, considering I paid £700 eight years ago not bad depreciation.
Answered a cricket question before Capt S on Uni Challenge :j
