Thinking of you, MHags.
Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) Some sleep.
2) Took both sons to school/college then bigger son's college was cancelled once again due to lack of lecturers so picked him up again!
3) Hens well.
4) Tidied up a bit.
5) Brother came round for board games.
6) Fish and chips from the van.
7) Went on the date (Village Man). I have not long got back and am not sure what to think really. I mean, we talked OK for 4.5 hours but I could not tell what he thought and he didn't ask to see me again or for my phone number. I did get to admire some dogs and play his piano. :-D Rather a handsome chap too.
8) In bed now with 2 hwb and will put the radio on.0 -
Thinking of you Mhags.
Friday pleasures,
Bit of a dismal old start so easier to crack on with cleaning without the attraction of being outside.
Drove into cathedral city to pick up parcel, pleasure was got a parking space at PO and it only took a few minutes.
Mr Jackdaw performing acrobatics trying to get at the suet feeder.
It brightened up in the afternoon and warmed up too, schooled equine girlie over and between poles to work on our straightness, she was a poppet.
Venison with red cabbage and roasted beets for tea, trying to go low carb0 -
A decent sleep, in fact sleeping again after the usual 4am loo trip, it must be quieter here than it was in Hampshire.
Trip to a shopping outlet relatively close where we had a nice lunch and found a couple of Christmas presents for Grandpickles.
The sun is shining, it is dry, HWK has finished the greenhouse and is a happy boy, Hoorah!
There is a jumble sale today in the village hall from 2 - 4 this afternoon, I shall participate!
Tomorrow we are visiting the Grandpickles and their parents in the morning and have DD1 and dear James coming to visit us in the afternoon, a wonderfully family day!0 -
Saturday a day of much coughing and spluttering.
Went to L!dl first thing. Amongst birthday sundries got a pair of croc lookalikies and a door mat!
My children mocked my new garden clogs and my dog eyes them up...he likes to chew them.
Was supposed to be going out tonight but just coughing constantly, not a pleasure for me nor those around. Was all dressed and ready and then thought no. So got into nightwear and dropped DD2 off at her friends , home , very quick dog walk, then curled on the sofa with him.
Have eaten rubbish all day ( tasty rubbish) after 3 weeks of not eating rubbish!0 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Dropped bigger son off at Go Ape and walked the red route through the forest.
3) Hens well.
4) Took smaller son to watch the football and his team won 4-1!
5) Tea in Sainsburys.
6) No contact from Village Man but never fear, Favourite Man is meeting me tomorrow morning!
7) A Casualty/Holby crossover.0 -
Sorry not posted for ages .Been hard to find pleasures in all the falls ,unsteadiness and hospital appointments.
Trying hard
1 My lovely gardener has returned and the garden is waking up ,spring flowers are out .
2 I can potter without thinking that I should be doing something else (it's a big garden on three sides of the bungalow)
3 DH is happy we're back with Sky ,even if he did fall flat at the feet of the engineers !
4 they picked him up and were lovely .wonder how many customers are so pleased to see them they fall at their feet !
5 Had a lovely time at half term Prom dress shopping with my beautiful granddaughter ,she looks lovely in her chosen dress and I had to hold back tears ,I miss her Mum so much .
6 the NHS ,now looking at DH with different eyes ,his big hospital appointment isn't until the end of April ,but his new neuro specialist physio is great ,also pretty sure he hasn't got Parkinson's ,but has some ideas .Now if he could just stop the falls .

Good to hear that you are getting such positive medical help Sue.
Saturday pleasures,
A weekend treat of smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on rye toast.
Drove out to the farm shop and saw so many daffodils lining the verges of the village.
A Mama blackbird having a right old wash & brush up in the birdbath.
Afternoon at the yard, my girlie fell asleep in the sun whilst I gave her a good groom, she is heavily shedding at the moment so grey hair everywhere, especially on me!
A rare 3 points away from home for United, sorry BOP!
Glass of something grape based and watched a film.0 -
Mhags. Seems Jenny sent her coughs as well. More :heartpuls to the needy!
LT yous hit the excused list! No more of yous talk!
V Nows as I has said on here countless times and I have lost count abouts proper foods! Bop worked from home on FryDay and BoP was left to do her own buttie box! Well she went off piste and bough carp foods thinking they were good for her! The toilet duck is doing overtime! Let that be a lesson too yous lot!
4 Gaffer bought me a model Sepecat Jaguar other day and it is half made already. Please be careful when you model as the glue is a bit pungent! Always do it in a well ventilated place. Our house today is well ventilated! See notes above.
3 Watched the 8 of Oceans last night. Bit in parts but not as good as the original. Too diluted!
2 Night for dinners is BoP Country pie with creamy cheese chive mash. Pan gravy and more pudding of xmas.
BoPsie certainly is having one today!
There it is, the fastest BoP notes so far this month!0 -
0341bells in Aoteoroa, from way up in Northland, staying with other oldest Nelson Park Napier school friend.
Plane back starts Wednesday. How these weeks away have zoooomed!
To be writing osps seems a nonsense, but without merit or ranking, here be an as-they-arrive 5:
1. My country is still beautiful. I keep being stunned by what's about on every hand, including the most lively, most eclectic and arty communities in the tiniest towns.
2. Left other oldest school friend, again since 1954-ish, after 2 wk stay on her 8.5 acre lifestyle block, one edge bordered by the Ruamahanga River. She's doing fantastic and ambitious 'rewilding/re-Native bush' work, plus orchard and all vege/flower/fruit growing for self-sufficiency. Lush climate, the wonderful Tararuas close. But no NZ resident is out of sight of one or more of our mountain ranges. It's near Masterton in the Wairarapa, where & was stationed in old nzbc days(and where & knew Barry Humphries in his earlier career as Les Patterson, culchril attashee fer Strylia, as well as dame Edna. He flew in from Oz for various colleagues' bdays). Found self looking at former workplace, long since in new guise. Radio National NZ is all that remains of anything of remotely comparable scope/quality.
And & must tell self: That was Then, This is Now.
3. Abundance and decency abound, yet culturally, outpost feelings remain. & left, like Clive James, and passes his Portugal Place addy in Town of Gown so often these UK days....
And & knows/recognises deepest cross-Channel need for closeness to France.
4. Looking up into the exquisite unpolluted dark of a Southern hemisphere sky on late hot summer nights, and seeing my Southern Cross and 2 pointers....again, the sense of 'my' little country.
5. A precious few days with a cousin, ditto seeing another, and a very precious few hours with sister and husband of late aunt....was always close to them too and one is suddenly frail, with cancer. They had been minding a painting & couldn't bring back last time. Have it now....and boxes to sort and leave for airfreighting back, another 'as usual'.

Will leave this there. Much to do. Many many thoughts and already thinking 2 years ahead for next trip....
