Good Morning,
Very quiet day yesterday...
1. DH has developed the cold, so we hibernated most of the day.
2. Used my last coupon from Mr W to buy a birthday card and some nice flowers.
3. Spent most of the day on the internet trying to find a craft course as a birthday present......there were lots to chose from if I wanted to pay £100s  Eventually decided on afternoon tea at local tea rooms, as we have been talking about going for a while now. Trying to make memories, not buy stuff.
4. Trying to think of alternative entertainment when we go to London next week as our meal at the House of Commons Dining room has been cancelled. We think we have a plan
5. Evening out celebrating a friend's birthday and hearing stories of their trip to Amsterdam.
Have a lovely day0 -
Jings! Miss a day and Sparrer'sbeen and gone and frith's been on a hot date.
I'm sat in the spare room single bed trying to cough quietly and not wake everyone else quite yet. I seem to have caught the lurgy off my boy son though niece in law has a cold too so hopefully I don't get the blame if baby gets a cold ( hopefully he's got good strong immune system)
Gosh! Don't babies come with a lot of stuff? It's everywhere! Literally. All his stuff plus all the extra they've brought to pass on to niece ( nephew is her brother) and if i could just hold on to it a bit longer !
Lovely baby snuggles with such a lovely baby. I know I'm biased but he is gorgeous and scrummy and as delicious as he looked in his photographs!
Great niece had stayed overnight. She was in DD2 room. I was in DD1 room. They were in my room. No wonder the dog was confused!
Lovely walk down our woods and it thankfully brightened up after a very horrid rainy start. Much fun and nonsense between nephew and great niece of the tipping upside down, up on shoulders variety. She loved it.
The tired parents went to the cinema and very kindly left their son with DD2 and I for about 3 hours. He was fine. We walked to T ( remembering the days of stuffing everything under the pram with affection) and then popped into my mums for 10 minutes.
A couple of nice dog walks too. Haggis met his lady friend so was most happy.
The tired parents brought home pizza which I struggled to get in the oven. Had a nice dinner. My new dining room ( extension) is just the perfect space for a pile of people. Had pavlova and peaches for pudding.
No party animals here all in bed by 9.30pm! Changed days.
On Friday I'd made a veggie frittata ( using up my egg yolks from meringue making) most of veg RTC in Aldi. Also a thai (ish) butternut squash curry. A Cajun chicken pasta . Used up some naan bread from freezer. RTC herby potatoes. Nobody had room for pudding though they'd found the box of tablet so that was demolished. The feeding of many for not too much money. Lovely to have them all round my extended table ( and thank goodness for extending middle bit) . I love the chatter and the laughter.
Have a good day. My visitors leave by lunchtime so will no doubt be a frantic sweep up of baby paraphernalia. The niecelys coming mid morning too to see the nephew-lies before they leave. So full house this morning then I think I will sign a huge sigh when they leave and lie on a sofa and cuddle my dog and marvel at the silence! That's the plan!0 -
1. Met friend for coffee and long chat. Paid for coffee with a gift card another friend had given me.
2. Went to garden centre with DH and had free coffee there!
3. Not too cold and spent some time in the garden. Some weeding done and lots moved.
4. Watching the birds in the feeders makes washing up more enjoyable.
5. Had a meal with friends. No disasters happened either which was a relief.0 -
