Morning all - pleasures for yesterday

    1. early train to London. Typically decided not to catch the early train as I needed the sleep. Woke up in time to get it :( The pleasure is that i had breakfast on the train and got to the office early - got more done
    2. Decided to give up on substitute office and go back to original one. The view is better - madame tussauds out of one window and pretty much the whole of london out of the other.
    3. Walked through Regents park to get to office, that 10 minutes with the flowers, fountains, trees and sculptures makes a difference
    4. DD and I went to see Half a Sixpence. The story is rather dated and some of the lines are a bit shocking ("If you don't marry me, i will jump off the pier") but the singing and dancing were fantastic. The young guy in the lead role is tremendous.
    5. Dinner at Ask. I used Tossco vouchers to get £20 off the bill :T

    Have a good day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I'm glad Mr LW continues to improve :)

Well I just did a lengthy post but it vanished so a but briefer:

    Work. Love a Thursday.

Walked and walked and walked . About 19000 steps so far...mostly to salvos and back, repeat times many!

Banked our takings so far from selling stuff. Train there and back. Loving half price travel.

Beautiful day...you would think Spring starts tomorrow .

Beautiful birds, trees and flowers .
  • 5 So that was when I walked to the newsagent to get the paper and they rushed out a second edition glorifying some car crash. I put down my paper of the previous thirty years and left with the 50 pence piece still in my pocket. I would had cared earlier, but then I had not watched or listened the news since 21:22Z 1982-05-03. It was a Monday! Oh and what a song to be playing on the way to the mill this morning. Car Crash by the Tiger Lilies!

4 Before you start, Jenny had her MoT yesterday and I tell you now, it was shocking. Bloody hurts as well. Her loose wire as I call it, they call it something else, is still able to pulse out 20 billion mega joules in such a short time, if you get within 20 miles, you will be soon seeing Peter. Only problem, there will be a big queue! The quack also was on about how well Jenny had fine-tuned my heart, as expressed in this parish about my beach ready look for the autumn. I can say no more! Viewing is recommended, glasses still available from mila!

3 After all that rush, back at the mill this morning and the hey is ready! Bails are being run through and the fires are bright again. The print run on the BoE forms looks good! Oh, DD the pension. When I’m Sixty Three and falling! Tomorrow again it will have been bought forward by another fortnight!

2 Nite, well last nite again we had Chicken Roulette! Not available at the emporium as they only serve carp. Then watched the classic movie, well when I was a lad back then like after sweeping under the carpet and paining the grass, we did not listen to radio four! Except for some reason we were encouraged to listen to some fantasia call HHGTTG! Classic. So long and thanks for all the fish. Thinking though I may come back as Oolon Culliphid!

Great news about pension BoP. Need to sort mine out. We'll be mortgage free by age 32 if we carry on with our insanely intense mortgage pay off but only have 8% and 20% of contributions set up, respectively. Which is not enough, considering I have little faith in state pensions even existing when I hit my sixties!

    1) Tomatoes on the bushes. Doing well, seeing as we neglected and abused them for so long.
    2) Popped home from the office today to let chimney sweep in. Chimney swept, and whilst he did it I processed some laundry, tidied and emptied dishwasher, and put on the breadmaker - wholemeal walnut loaf on :)
    3) Only one more day til September! August budget is looking very threadbare, so will be welcomed. Might have to steal some of Sept's grocery money to fund this months and go shopping tonight (though we only spent £110 this month - yay - so it's not terrible news)
    4) Lovely homemade bread for lunch today. Slim pickings in the fridge so I had a PB+J.
    5) Got a free 3 month trial with Audible (have set reminders to cancel). First book I downloaded was one I've been meaning to read but is £23 in Waterstones, and £17 in Kindle form - The Wisdom of Frugality. Enjoying it so far!

1 I batch cooked 6 lasagnes from scratch using up lots of things.
2 Various loads of washing caught up with, about 6 at the last count, but I have caved to using the dryer to make sure the animal hair is removed.
3 We popped to the next town on for their fruit and veg stand, which is always wonderful, but had to head back to the car we got so much, then we pondered around and got a few more bits, new pillows for the van and bits and bobs from cheap shops.
4 Caf! dinners of grilled chicken and salad for us both, was delicious.
5 Months bills paid all done.
6 Got DF home tonight, at least safe and sound, the hospice is aware but not at that point yet.
7 Started c word planning for DH.

    Evening!

Posting this now! What am I going to do at 3:30am when I am wide awake?

    1. Researched some ideas for planning for school. Will write it all up tomorrow.

    2. Popped to the shops for ingredients to make chilli and found some sun cream for 50p to put away for next year!

    3. Made chilli for me and DH, and Sweet and Sour chicken for DS2. Chilli was yum, but DS2 just picked out the chicken.

    4. DS2 enjoying his NCS challenge. He seems to have grown in the three weeks he has been doing it! He is also being a bit cheeky. Reserving judgement on that:cool:

    5. Text conversations with DF and DD. :)

Quick update as its a bit late!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) My sister and niece came round as my niece wanted to feed the hens! They enjoyed the extra fuss. My sister had bought bigger son 2 new t shirts to say well done on his GCSE results and he was well chuffed with those.

    3) All went to a local farm shop for cups of tea and rather ridiculous milk shakes with sprinkles stuck to the rim of the glass, huge straws etc.

    4) Into town afterwards for a look around.

    5) Played football a bit with smaller son.

    6) Weeded and tidied the front garden.

    7) Had casserole for tea with cheesy mashed potato. Then rice pudding.

    8) Have been watching TV on and off all evening inc Who Do You Think You Are?

    Thursday pleasures,

Food shopping and after putting back some 'bargain' cheese we came in under budget for the month, aim is to shave another fiver per week off this month :)

Catching up on mount ironmore, empty basket is very satisfying.

Went to look at yard, lady was friendly and facilities were good but lots of hidden extras and could end up quite expensive, looking at my first choice this afternoon.

Driving home to rain and pleasure was that Capt S had brought the washing in.

Last episode of Top of the Lake.

Hello, I'm in bed early tonight. Didn't sleep well last night & could feel myself nodding off on sofa.

Bit of an itsy bitsy day , didn't get as much done as intended. Waited for a no show , who will come tomorrow if that's okay.

Work was fine , another weeks wages earned.

More stuff to op shops / recycling bins

    Reconnected to a childhood friend.

Much washing done & mostly dry. Was an icy 1o this morning but turned out nice.

It's 6 months today since OH died. I just simply miss him so much.

Had thai food for tea. Girls both at work . Couldn't be bothered cooking.
