Hello all
Happy belated BD, DD
Pleasures since Sunday - if i can find some, I've been right fed-up. Don't know why, and nothing major
Anyhoo
1. Beautiful sunshine. and heat. Gone today but was nice while it lasted.
2. went blackberrying with OH, got loads and there's loads still to be had. need to eat the freezer down a bit first
3. OH cleaned the drive. the neighbours had theirs professionally done and showed ours up something chronic. Much more presentable now.
4. BBq in the garden last night.
5. starting to filter away the "stuff". Still a way to go, however.
Have a lovely evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1. Sunshine
2. 40p in the Marmite jar
3. Cleared out 2 bin liners of good stuff for the chazzer. Saw my favourite lady who works there
4. A dog's purpose DVD has arrived - yay! DD's watching it at the moment, but I think we're going to watch it again together in a bit (she likes watching good things many, many times!!)
5. Eagerly and slightly anxiously awaiting a call/email back from the HA and the owner of the flat. I called and queried the damp situation. Hopefully I've not put the cat amongst any pigeons, and might be able to have another viewing, and apply for a mortgage.
6. With the above in mind, I've dug out my last 3 payslips and P60. Will have a billion pages of bank statements to print as well, but that can wait until I know I need to do it.
7. DD, KW and my lovely chums who put up with me
8. Finding out that my nice cheap hairdresser now does eyebrow shaping as well, hopefully going to try that out tomorrow.
More!
Oh dear - MissKitty's DVD is faultyYay to Amazon, as a new one is on its way and this one can go back to be recycled or whatever they do with them. She's not best pleased, as she was so looking forward to it, but thank goodness for not having to schlep to the shop, argue with a sales assistant etc.
To avoid planning, I went on various websites recommended on here, to sell some books and DVDsEvery little helps right? And with my new, what's the point of taking it with me if I move head on, it's less to potentially pack!

What's this about Denmark, Ampersand? We've been considering it for our penultimate destination next year!
Pleasures for today (Tuesday). An extremely difficult day, son behaviour wise :-/ but still managed to get stuff done.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens fine.
3) Off to Art Deco cinema to retrieve bigger son's hoodie, left there last week.
4) Bigger son's college (from next week) to get his equipment, course books etc. £240 to add to the overdraft...
5) A look around town, applied to replacement bank card for smaller son, looked round charity shops etc.
6) Off to work uniform shop to completely confuse the lady. "I'd like 2 pairs of steel toe capped boots - sizes 7 and 10. Then a chef's hat, apron and whites. No, the boots are for me (and bigger son) and the chef's stuff is all for smaller son!"
Smaller son was a bit naughty and decided to text his father to say he had to contribute half of bigger son's bill - so £120. Obviously no reply to that, though he has read it! Have received nothing for 12 years so no change there.
7) Made special fried rice for tea.
8) Enjoyed the new GBBO then The Island.0 -
Hello!
Back from hols! Nice to read back the thread a little way. Birthday greetings to those I have missed, and I will catch up with happenings eventually.
2 weeks of pleasures....
1. Very little internet, so screen detox was good. Although it would have been nice to list 5 pleasures on here everyday.
2. Japan was wonderful! It is how the world should be.....polite, neat and tidy, litter free, safe, good public transport systems...and beautiful and different.
3. Main part of our hol was 8 day cruise around North Japan....... No chores, so nails have survived 2 weeks! Away from the worries of work, so managed to control intrusive thoughts and calm pains in stomach which had got quite bad before we left home. Unfortunately, I have eaten far too much, but done lots of walking too!
4. Brief window of opportunity allowed us to ring DS2 to find out his GCSE results. Has done really well, and has enrolled on the course he wants to do at 6th form. :j
5. Bonus trip to Disneyland Tokyo! Had many hours between disembarkation and checking in for flight home, so spent day at Park. Non MSE, but cancelled ships transfer to airport, and used the refund to pay for the tickets and local coach fare. A Grand Day Out!
Awake since 3:30am, but getting washing done!
Glad we missed Korean Missile........:( landed in the area we have just visited!
We have watched lots of US news on the ship. Poor people of Houston. Just gets worse and worse.
Have a lovely day. Back to normality.0 -

1 Back from one of the best steam fairs so far, a really lovely mix of people and new friends, and we stayed on budget always a bonus.
2 We even made it onto the radio with some fabulous ferret pr.
3 Ploughing through the washing mountain now.
4 Watching the birds at home piling over themselves for the food in the feeder.
5 DH and I are enjoying weight loss and still have some way to go, we both have weirdly baggy clothing it’s not worth replacing as we are continuing to move the weight away.
6 Just purchased the Thompson and Morgan MSE offer.
I’m looking into a new palliative care company for DF after he’s been left in hospital as they can’t meet his needs, hoping we have one now and he’ll get back tomorrow.0 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Porridge for breakfast and some for the hens.
3) Off to Ludlow - picnic by the weir, charity shops then a general explore.
4) Chips on the summit of the Clee Hill.
5) Made a beef casserole this evening, ready for tomorrow.0 -
Evening,
5 for today....
1. DH not back to work til tomorrow, so had a bonus day. Mostly washing and cleaning, but not 'work'.
2. Trip to shops and popped into coffee shop for latte.
3. Used up my collection of mini soaps liberated from hotels etc. Over the last year, to make washing gloop......nearly free washing for a few weeks!
4. Made HM cheese burgers for tea. yum. Actually enjoyed cooking, as it's a novelty after 2 weeks away!
5. Sold a few more things on EBay. Won't make my fortune, but will help declutter, and pop a few quid into the PayPal account.
Hoping to stay asleep longer tonight, but as yet not tired!0 -
1) DD2s wedding anniversary today.
2) He Who Knows is allowed to take the dressings off his tum today and HAVE A SHOWER!
3) Little brother coming for coffee.
4) Going to be making tomato chutney later on, I really enjoy preserving, made apple jelly yesterday and apple chutney the day before that.
5) We're due rain which is sorely needed as yesterdays was bay enough to damp the ground, mind we did get that wonderful after the rain smell (petricore apparently) so walking Cookie was even more pleasant than usual and He Who Knows managed the whole walk with us, progress!0 -
Wednesday pleasures,
The power was off from 8.30 to 5.30 so a quiet day, made me realise that we need a battery powered radio, missed my music and spoken word.
Went out for lunch due to above, beef brisket and veggies, we shared a sticky toffee pudding.
From having nowhere for new equine pal to go to we now have choice of two yards, one closer to home but the other cheaper and have friends at that one, decisions to be made.
We have two ripe tomatoes and more on the way :j
Continuous rain all day only to have sky clear by bedtime, stars out and chilly.0
