A ferret has been off colour, lots of sickness to clear up, however he’s pulled around and had extra fluids and cuddles.
I cooked up some flapjacks, just using up things we have, and they’ve turned out well this time.
The Christmas cake has also been topped up with dates and brandy again.
Dinner tonight is from the freezer to the grill and oven for burger and chips.
For today
For me hanging about while DH had medical things, I went to go to Aldi but they were queuing in their car park, so I took the car over to home bargains not expecting a space and it was lovely. I was tempted to stop and get a hot drink as I’d forgotten one, but the prices kept me at bay. Instead, I pondered around Iceland and happened upon some final clearance of corned beef, tomatoes and bits and bobs all 50p each for the freezer bag, and in Home Bargains picked up a marked down pet item we use.
On the way back in what seemed like continual traffic we called into our aldi, picked up some vitals like ferret chicken.
Caught up on the traitors.

We've just been talking about you around the bonfire, PK! My brother still has one ferret but bigger son is thinking of getting one or two.

1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the middle of Lidl to get a cask of beer for smaller.
3) Coffee morning and, for Halloween, a picture fell down the wall and smashed!
4) Had some more free apples from someone at coffee morning.
5) Put the fairy lights up for Halloween.
6) Went to work, which was bearable.
7) Went with smaller son to a bonfire at my brother's.
8) Watching television now.7 -
a lovely couple of days (took yesterday off)
1) lots of piano
2) lots of walking
3) lots of watching footie (jeez last night Luton losing a 3-0 lead and today a very disappointing Leicester (though a very good toastie and the company of Dr M and Mr G) and now a very entertaining Brackley v Notts county
4) taming my office including (don't judge!) putting away the Christmas stuff I had clearly dumped there in January. oops
5) taming my inbox yesterday when it rained most of the day (I know I know holiday but did while finishing Homeland which clearly I missed 13 years ago - Dr M and Mr G find it very amusing I'm sooooo behind with tv that 'everyone watched' though come to think of it 13 years ago my marriage was collapsing before my very eyes - huge thanks to all here who have walked alongside me through the thick and thin - you are most loved)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Walked to the volunteer run cafe in the park.
3) Found a geocache.
4) Spent a couple of hours weeding the garden and mowing.
5) Listened to the commentary for our football team.
6) Watched Brackley (2 former players from our team) v Notts County (Maz Kouyhar). Didn't know which to support but I usually go for the underdog.
7) Phoned my school friend.6 -
For the last couple of days,
Friday was a deliberately quiet day as woke up with a bad sinus headache that didn’t seem to shift all day so went over to see my big girl in the morning then spent an afternoon at home, dozing on the sofa and watching an old film.
Then yesterday we had a good start to the weekend with breakfast out at the farm shop, C dog came too and Mum sneaked her a couple of pieces of her sausage under the table ☺️ She is such an easy dog to take out & about bless her.
Home, made bread dough and changed beds etc. It was a mild, sunny but breezy day so mostly dried on line.
We raked a lot of the beech leaves up and piled them into a sheltered corner by the shed to compost down.
Over to the yard to see my equine pal who, despite the lack of rug, didn’t roll in her muddy field so came in clean, always a big bonus for a grey horse owner! Kept an eye on the footie and pleased to see United through to the next round of the cup.
We are thoroughly enjoying the Rev Richard’s exploration of the Shipping Forecast areas and last night watched the episode with the Faroe Islands, a place I’ve always wanted to visit. Looked amazing and I’m even more determined to go now.

Just waiting to be picked up by DD2 and The Chap this morning. For Friday and Saturday.
Friday I wrote a list and ticked off everything apart from hoover which I ended up doing yesterday.
Took all my autumnal decor down to enjoy a quiet month before I’m ready to put my festive stuff up!
Don't think I did much. Other than chores and then finished off work. Had a quiet afternoon and then an early night. Went upstairs to avoid the Halloweeners…can’t bear the dog barking every time the door went!Up early yesterday.Went down to CP…oh my goodness…we had a river ! It had rained constantly on Friday and the sides of the fields/ grass we walk along was literally flowing with water…so doggy was happy!Still had a tin of soup in the caravan cupboard so had that for lunch.Home in the afternoon and put log burner on and just sat quietly. More rain!Had RTC steak pie, parsnips and carrots and peas for tea and an orange for pud.Enjoyed Strictly…watched upstairs as blooming fireworks going off and dog gets very stressed so we went to bed.Have a good day ☺️7 -
Hi everyone.
A lovely sunny November morning here, feeling more like September so very happy with that.
Recent peasures:
1) Great trip away, came back tired but happy. Visited some of my old college haunts but, needless to say, after 55 years it has mostly changed beyond recognition. Still 'feels' the same though.
2) A mixed blessing but my lack of a sense of smell meant I marched blithely into the house when we got back with not a moment's worry. Hubby's sense of smell led him to realise we had blocked drains - eww!
3) Son and hubby thankfully sorted the drain problem yesterday. Next door's was blocked with roots and leaves and was making ours back up. Took them a fair while to sort them all but all done now and they will do a regular inspection.
4) Lovely to have a shower and do the washing without having to think about where the water was going.
5) Middle grandson is 18 tomorrow. This does not seem at all possible, he was the baby for quite a while before little grandson arrived, but there we are, all grown up now. Eldest grandson is home for a couple of days from Uni to help him to celebrate, we will also help him to celebrate in a more sedate fashion!
An easy-ish day today is on the ards for us, hope you have a good one whatever you are up to.

Frith, ohh I know we have a few, so I'm biased, but 2 play amazingly together for the times when they aren't about, and albino boys the most docile, but everyone falls for the bandit masking of the darker ones.
Travelled over to Mum in laws, checked a few things, and helped her apply for a couple of things. Before we were on our way to be back before the fireworks upset the animals.
Back and leaving the radios on in the background seems to have helped a bit, but back before too many had started.
For Sunday,
A grilled bacon sandwich is breakfast
Did a wee bit of emergency cleaning as we had a call from a neighbour and I wasn’t sure if they may pop over. It needed doing, and I’ll do it properly next week.
Popped out into the cold for a quick walk to pick up the olio request, this time, some veg that will be in a stew, a couple of special breads and a couple of rhubarb desserts stashed away in the freezer.
Corned beef hash will be dinner.
