@topsyturphy - wow on the miles per gallon. I wish we came up to even half that in my car. Good creative cooking too. I am impressed.
@Frith - happy to see that younger son is out and about with you more.3 -
Lemon cucumbers sound tasty TopsyT 👍
For yesterday,
Text from my brother, he was at the cricket with nephew and some pals, then later in the day I caught them on the tele.
Loads of updates from the rescue as 20 dogs were loaded onto the happy bus, tears & cuddles from the lovely Italian volunteers who do such a wonderful job of getting the dear souls out of the hell holes that are the public pounds over there.Warm & muggy in the afternoon, my big girl is back to going out during the day so I went over later in the day to fetch her in. She was quite clean today.
Driving home from the yard listening to TMS and laughing at Aggers & Tuffers chatting about blancmanage!
Enjoying my new book, the first in a series of books set in Wensleydale.4 -
1. & is still sans Doblo, hence extra walking, much by choice. A far-off bus stop is opposite a church, where a young lad was practising the toccata that Wayne Marshall had played on Saturday.
2. This is he, newly in area, absolutely brilliant and who kindly did a 1-hour concert as a fundraiser. Such wide-ranging pieces. Utterly fantastic!
Wayne Marshall https://share.google/rMfnzR1CuS0Rn8B9J3. Hoorah! Naughty but extremely nice Pandas were back in at Food Warehouse, on OAP discount Tuesday. Gifted them to other fans at Nexus CS in Town of Horse yesterday. Have you been there yet, Lainey? You won't regret it.4. Being an ancient kiwi with an ABs'🏉 bloodline, & doesn't really do⚽, but the Lionesses certainly know how to make hearts beat faster! Only 19! - that's young Michelle Agyemang, whose surname fittingly means Saviour of the Nation! Splendid stuff,👏💓👍5. Crochet guinea pigs continue. They will be finished and dispatched one day soon. The feet, the eyes, the ears and the fiddly finishing details are pigs to......oh well.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
Now not only ill but the worst hayfever I've had in my life, made worse simply by smaller son opening the door to talk to the cat.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to town for cat soup and milk as she has not eaten for 3 days.
3) Got some more birthday bits for smaller son.
4) Did some weeding and chopping back in the garden.
5) Made curry for tea and just made a pear and almond cake.
6) Have just set up new car insurance and am on hold (for hours) to Virgin Media to try and get a better renewal price from them.4 -
Hello! Just watching the sun think about setting though it’s still quite light but there’s been some pretty clouds.Up early. Dozed off for a bit after.Had a wee bit of work to do so did that first thing. Just a wee bit of adding on for next weeks service.Pottered around. Hoovered, and then have just hoovered again and washed floors. Cleaned bathroom. Small washing. Bit of gardening. As far as supermarket for some lunch stuff. Made fajitas. Then I went into the garage and brought out a big tub that was still sealed from moving in 2017. Amongst other things It was my husband’s box of love letters/ cards from me. I went through them all and it was mainly a lovely thing to do and certainly something I didn’t want my children to have to do /read. So I’ve burned the ones that weren’t for their eyes! And not in any way sad about that. I just don’t want them to read what was very personal to us! And recycled engagement cards and house move cards and various anniversary cards from others. And I will need to do the same for my box of letters cards from him. We wrote to each other often. Full of love and laughter and promise.DD2 popped over…she had 4 blooming parcels delivered here today. And generally just pottering about back and forth. Had to water the garden…got used to the rain doing that!4

For yesterday,
Rain, so much rain so will be typically British and say oh well it’s good for the garden!
Food shop then trip to the pet store to get a few bits for new family member including a tag for her collar. Couldn’t resist a cuddly moose toy who was named after United’s mascot so serendipitous.
Yard messaged to say that they were bringing horses in early as they were all just standing at gates looking miserable, over to see my girl and found her a wicking rug to dry her off ( her dry fly wasn’t meant for hours of complete downpours ) and hand over treats. Met a gorgeous spaniel owned by our NDN.
Lovely long chatty email from a friend, we first met on these boards a good few years ago.
Treat of a pub meal out, I had a halloumi & courgette burger which was delish followed by a chocolate mousse which was even more delish!3 -
Quiet day today. Not done very much at all! One more day of antibiotics!Yesterday sorted out more photos! Shared some with the people in them. Much smiling.Went to CP to walk dogs.Just being quiet really!4

For the last couple of days,
After over 50 hours on the happy bus this absolute treasure has come home to us, she has obviously been well trained at some point as she sits and lays down on finger command ( good thing as my Italian isn’t up to the job! ) is clean in the house and the first night home she slept in her bed without a murmur all night.
We did have to take her to the V E T S yesterday morning as she had bit of an ear infection brewing, however she jumped straight into the car and was such a good girl for the vet nurse she couldn’t believe we’d had her for less than a day. After exploring the garden during the day we had our first proper walk yesterday evening and she was very good with no pulling. Given her sweet nature I suspect she’s struggled at the rescue and has a couple of scars & marks as a result but in our eyes she is perfect.
Needless to say I’m more than a little in love already ❤️5 -
That’s wonderful Lainey. Lucky girl to have such a lovely new home, enjoy 🐶😊3

Morning all.
Lainey - your new arrival is gorgeous and seems to have settled in well already. Wishing you all lots of pleasures together in the future.
Quiet couple of days here before the dentist tomorrow. He has written to me as, having looked at the CT scan in more depth, it would appear more work is required than initially thought. We will discuss tomorrow and hopefully get started. Getting the house is order and meals for hubby sorted and then up and off early doors.
Just started raining here so will shortly settle down with coffee and the papers.
Enjoy the day, whatever yo are up to.3
