Good afternoon. Looks like rain here but none as yet.
Lainey - this will probably count as daftest question of all time, but do you think your Italian dog will understand you? I'll be interested to know how long it takes for her to understand 'Walkies' or whatever.
Had a very busy day yesterday ( for me!)
Yoga in the morning, DGS (11) leavers' assembly and then quick dash to physio.
Yoga and assembly were fine ( they did an Oscar awards type presentation). Physio less so! Sciatica is not really responding as well as she, and I , would like so it was very ouchy pummeling and equally ouchy exercises. But it does feel better today so fingers crossed she's on the right lines.
Car in for service today so I walked to the village for my prescription. It's a while since I did that and was shattered when I got back. It's only just over a mile away but it felt much further today. Must do it more often.
Watched the first of Only Connect last night and actually answered some questions. Think they must be easing us in gently.
Right, off to feed plants in pots and houseplants
Happy Tuesday everyone

Hello…a mix of being away with no wifi and not charging my ipad so I’ll do a mix of pleasures for past 4 days!Been away at CP…lots of swimming. And being ‘relaxed’ I prefer busy to relaxed so it takes a bit of getting used to.Nice doggy walks with a nice doggy.
Worked on Sunday. Met new family and then home and wrote and wrote.Friend in this afternoon for a visit and half an hour later friend over for tea.Quietly celebrated a heavenly husband’s birthday.I’ve shared bunches of sweet peas. But have been kindly given a bunch of yellow roses which I took to the caravan and then friends daughter bought me lovely sunflowers.Pumpkins and courgettes growing.Got washing dried this afternoon. Hurrah! All the caravan towels and swim stuff.I’ve been bitten on my wrist by a something. And I have a spreading cellulitis. Lots of kindness and helpfulness in the pharmacy this morning ( I left CP earlier than planned) and on antibiotics and antihistamine. See what tomorrow brings.6 -
I stopped and literally smelled the roses, and they took me back to the Yardley packs my mum used to get with the rose soap in.
Inspired by my first albeit rather small carrot, I started a new tub, I also planted dwarf beans, and rocket / lettuce, and then remembered more seeds and worked to get them in, I am terrible at this, but it’s my happy place, even if I just end up feeding various critters with the seeds that go in.
Remembered to drag out some bolognaise from the freezer and did the traditional spaghetti bolognaise tonight but in fact if anything could go wrong in the kitchen tonight it did, hey ho.
I took the full set of painkillers today to see if we can get things back under control and set reminders when to take bits. I went with DH to the doctors, and we've got a rheumatology referral underway.
Starting a new book, hmm at 569 pages, "we all here stories in the dark", and ordered the second hand version of the follow-on book I’ve just read for £2.39.

HappyCas good question and one that many of us, the current batch of adopters, have asked the rescue! Being the clever animals they are the dogs apparently quickly adapt and learn what their new owners mean. Our girl will be getting on the happy bus today, ready for her long journey to the UK, eeek!
For yesterday,
Gave myself a manicure & pedicure whilst listening to a podcast.
Baked a loaf.
Time spent in the garden dead heading, mainly the lavenders and the green bin now smells mmm.
At the yard and girlie had obviously had a good roll in the mud, luckily it had dried so just needed a good brush and I guess it keeps the bingo wings at bay!
The Lionesses, wow we leave it late but here we are in another final.5 -
Good morning. Sunny again
Dundee Doll - hope all is well and you are just end-of-term/year busy.
It's a really good drying day today but we've had so many good days I've run out of washing! That almost never happens!
But also the two water butts are full to the top so I can water with a clear conscience. All good!
I think bits and bobs of sewing today. I'm re-lining some baskets that hold toiletries etc in the wardrobe. The originals were very grubby. I didn't want to buy new material though so used up leftovers from my stash so they are sort of two tone now😂. But clean and fresh
Happy Wednesday everyone

Hi everyone.
Reading along to keep up but feeling a bit down and will need to dig deep for pleasures:
1) Little fella has finished his school year. One more year and he goes up to 'big school' so our last Christmas concert, sports day, etc to be enjoyed, a massive pleasure for us over the years with all three boys.
2) A weird sort of pleasure but everything I eat tastes just awful. The Dr reckons this is the first stage of taste and smell coming back but no guarantee of how much will return. Nevertheless I'm seeing it as progress., certainly not inclined to overeat! Brain scan appointment came through for the beginning of August.
3) Don't know if the huge tiredness I'm feeling at the mo is to do with infected tooth, two lots of antibiotics, weather changing or what but it's very 'draggy' and exhausting. Good that I can give in when I need to as we have nothing pressing this week and oh, the pleasure of an early night!
4) Garden looking much greener and fresher after all the rain.
5) We make a good team, hubby is currently taking up the reins and keeping everything on track while I'm dallying for a bit in the slow lane - mixed metaphors there maybe!
Right, off for a coffee and a wander round the garden. Thinking of Lainey's doggy on her way to her new happy place. Have a good day whatever you are up to.

I've been pretty ill the last few days (bad tummy leading to bad eyes/head). Did manage to get out yesterday so here are my pleasures for Tuesday.
1) Better sleep.
2) Pottered round the house during the morning.
3) Went to Waitrose cafe in floody city so I could help smaller son apply for another apprenticeship (we took the laptop).
4) Went to Croome Court, one of our favourite National Trusts. We had forgotten the free newspaper offer for smaller son so we wandered around looking for a fence to leap over (I had my card) but in the end just sat by the cafe until driven away by wasps.
5) Went to the city centre where the traffic was absolutely appalling. Had some chips in a carpark. One impatient man in the car park was revving and braking sharply and generally being stupid. Then there was an incredible bang and his side window had fallen down inside his door! So we looked the other way but enjoyed that a lot.
6) We went to the rugby stadium to watch our football team play the city team (resurrected after going bust a few years ago). One player was very fouly and silly and it got like a pantomime in the end as the crowd ooohed and aahed every single pass our team made and boooed their number 7! We won 2-1.
7) Got home in time to watch the extra time of the women's Euros and England won 2-1 in the closing moments.4 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went to the local shopping centre and had my hair cut (first proper cut in a year) so 25cm off and a short back and sides now. No one has noticed, except smaller son.
3) Felt better so tidied up and hoovered the floors.
4) Went to my sister's in the afternoon as it is her birthday. My mum's behaviour was almost unbearable so I went out to look at the tomato crop.
5) Got a few bits from Lidl.
6) Planning a holiday and it looks like it will involve a few sleeper trains.
7) Watched the Euros now.
8) Mowed the little front lawn and managed to get it back from a meadow to a lawn.4 -
Hello.Didn’t wake till 6.50am which is late for me! Had a nice easy start to the day ( after I took huge antibiotic on an empty stomach yuk!)
Washing hung out.
Chat with neighbour ( for ages couldn’t believe the time when I got back inside as I was going out!)
Then was just going out to car when another pal went by so quick chat to them.
Out for lunch with friends. Nice catch up.
Some idiot nearly ploughed into me in a car park. They just weren’t looking and luckily I was as my shopping fell on the floor!Home hello dogs! Feeling a bit blah with antibiotics.Did a bit in the garden. Chop. Chop. Chopped back willow tree again as it’s blocking out light. Chopped back the sweet peas. They have taken over one whole corner. And are crowding out the pumpkin/courgettes growing patch. They’ll still grow. And chopped back a big bunch of lemon balm so put it in a vase!Friend called so quick chat,5 -
Pleasures for last few days
1. Good journey back from the North West.
2. Managed 80.5 MPG on return trip in my new car.
3. Tomatoes and Cucumber plants survived the 5 days. Got tomatoes ripening and several lemon cucumbers ready.
4. Sleeping in my own bed.
5. Sold a few more items.
6. Booked a few days away with friends to Valencia in November.
7. Made a chickpea & green lentil curry but realised after I had started making it that I had no coconut milk so added in some chopped potatoes and some vegetable stock - was very nice but not sure I will be able to recreate again as kept adding herbs and spices.
8. Watched The Sewing Bee.1
