5 House chess continues this weekend, so snorkers have been frozen to be grilled later. Last night’s curry has been well eaten and three more have been frozen as well. Special fried rice was also done, and I had a bounce out in the sink. Rice everywhere. BoPsie washed up later! So the chicken has supplied 12 good portions from her, at £4.60, is just 39P a portion and all the meals, including the fancy bits, that is just 58 pennies a meal!. And muppets still buy the readied carp at reduced £5.19 for two! Short arms, deep pockets!
4 After I was fed off with two bix of weet this morning, Raffles was seen waltzing back along the fence from his morning feast with our neighbore! He knows all the best joints!
3 Sat with remains of humane today sore tin out candidate selection. Yes, you has read that correctly. I will now clarify for those amongst the parish who know me and my attitude to these people! I am correcting their methods on selection of stokers! Got it. Usual BoP rule, I’m right and they are so wrong. Their biscuits are definitely better than ours! Still need nod for those who are at school as to getting into these places and telling the future about using proper shovels in the boilers! Then we also had interrupt from the great doctors …
2 Nite BoP will be watching the goooooooooners with BoPsie, she is a convert! She was some villain years back, but has now seen sense and knows good things etc.
No, you did read that correctly!0 -
Woke up with labyrinthitis this morning which is just such an inconvenience more than anything else and I just have to let it pass.
Went into town with DD1. Met and chatted with some people I know and obviously haven't seen in years. Went to bank and paid in a couple of cheques.
Had a charity shop fest and got a pair of lined curtains , we got a rain jacket each, I got 3 jumpers and pair of navy trousers. DD got a pair of trousers and a top/ dress . Quite impressed with our haul.
Also got a shelved unit . In living room just now but may put up in DD1 room once it's been re-floored after she's gone back to Oz.
Son removed the floating shelves that were on the walls and have been since we bought house in 2006 and I've never liked! Painted over the purple that was showing and just need to another coat and should be done.
Son took the curtain pole that tenants had put up in my room without asking and put it in the living room. The one that was there was held on by a wish and a prayer! So new to me curtains up and looking nice.
Beans on toast for lunch.
My mother had oddly invited DD1 & DS for tea but has brought it here to cook. Nothing for me ( but I'm just sitting quietly trying not to be dizzy so not bothered) or DD2. She will want home by coronation street so shan't be here too long!
Managed to stay dry in amongst the heavy showers. Very windy and chilly.0 -
I'm sorry to post this on the pleasures thead, but I'm absolutely devasted. We just got back from sorting my late fathers house to our own house, to find the front door has been broken into, and our own security used against us. The police are here now but everything just feels so much worse when they've taken my fathers jewellery and all our bits. just lost for any pleasant words right now gutted totally gutted.0

Ready for Saturday bop?
1) weather shocking. Mrpiano offered me a lift ‘9:30ish’ so I worked at the kitchen table till... 10:30. Good to get a lift in
2) the red cabbage I forgot to cook Christmas Day going strong. Today base for tuna salad
3) ran my e&d workshop. Lots of cake supplied by office. Very lively group, lots of discussion, indeed they carried on well after the official finish apart from one who had to get to another meeting at 4 on main campus (as indeed did I)
4) had to get taxi to meeting but the person I met said her school would pick up the tab
5) mrpiano out for dinner with a German princess (as you do) and girls both out so peaceful evening cooking supper for one and watching still open all hours.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

That's shocking news, PK :-( I hope they get caught.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Kippers for breakfast (working my way through the Blood Sugar Diet recipes but I might not rush to have kippers again!)
3) Hens OK.
4) A day of archaeology and I've received a thank you email for contacting a few archaeologists trying to sort out a problem we had. I didn't solve it, but the email was nice!
5) Smaller son on good form this evening. Bigger son fairly cheerful also.
6) Made burritos for tea.
7) Did little all evening apart from watch television.
8) In bed with 1 hwb and will listen to the radio.0 -
Morning all
5. Made thick squash and lentil soup for tea, with a view to clearing freezer backlog - except I made 5 portions for the freezer :rotfl:
Have a good day all
:rotfl:I am in the same boat or should I say “freezer”? Trying to empty the freezer but ending up putting the odd portions of cooked food back. However, I had a bit of success today managed to use a box of fish, a bag of chips & finished a bag of petit pois:T:drool:
I think I'll make this pleasure number 1.
2. Another visit from the fox, in broad daylight again, this time chasing a “friend” around & then strolling across the back wall having finished playing.
3. One load of washing done & dried.
4. DH replacing carpet tiles in his study (with spares he already had) & hoovering as well:j
5. DH had a shave! It is so much nicer kissing him when he is clean shaven:kisses2:
Good night one & all.
