Hello. Late for me! Been on phone to friend for past 2 hours.A long day.Chat to DD1 first thing for an hour.
Round to mums. Stuff to tip. Stuff to charity shop.Solicitor to show ID. Pouring rain at this point.Undertaker next. Funeral booked for next week.Went to florist to order flowers , one of my good friends was there…buying flowers for me! So I just took them home then, she was coming round later.Back to mums for a bit, took another pile to tip, nipped into hairdressers to see if I can be squeezed in and she’s kindly staying on tomorrow to sort me out.Home. Hello doggy. One friend popped in with more flowers ( I’ll be opening my own shop soon!🌸🌼🌺
Then an overlap of two friends in. Then first one left and just the second one in ( from flower shop this morning)
A very RTC cottage pie from freezer was tea with sprouts! Cabbage, carrots and sweet corn.Back round to mums, popped in to see her next door neighbour.
Had a bit of laughter and chatter with sister and BIL then I just needed home.DD1 enroute home but such a long journey but she called just before take off. Shall track her shortly see where she is.Then friend called and just listened to me…before I finally said and how are you!Bed…tomorrow is another day!12 -
that's what friends are for mhags
1) convening an important 3 hour meeting today - warned them I would have to disappear briefly if the plumber arrived and when he did decided that was a good time to call a 10 minute comfort break
2) made a yummy pak choi and butternut squash soup at breakfast for lunch - the butternut soup was ys and already cubed - the other 3 portions are in the fridge
3) opticians in the afternoon, in person, hooray, new glasses and new sunglasses so not very mse. however last pair i had was 2016 so per day pretty cheap!
4) called in at the butchers on the way back to get a couple of steak rounds and sausages cos they're shutting for 2 weeks' holiday - also got lambs liver which i haven't had for yonks - is liver, potato and veg proper nosh admiral?
5) after supper back to some more emails then at 9 went for a lovely long walk with the boys - cold and windy but was well wrapped - then crumpets with strawberry jam while watching Derry Girls

1. Worked at other site with people I like. If it could be like that all the time I would enjoy work.
It was also a very busy day.
2. free lunch - jacket potato and cheese. Even this is better at the other site. Potato cooked properly and more cheese.
3. DS1 girlfriend had delivered chilli plants whilst I was at work. I have watered them.
4. Plants in greenhouses all watered and some potted on.
5. Salmon for tea. It is easy and quick to do but so tasty.9 -
Good morning
Poppy - that sounds awful. I'm glad you have a good nurse to help you.
Lainey - hoping your blood tests shine some light on the problem
Mhagster - busy days ahead. Don't forget to rest when possible. Be kind to yourself.
D Doll - our tea last night was almost identical, but no tomatoes. I did wonder if lamb's liver was proper food! I know it's good for you!
Nothing terribly exciting here, but I'm glad of that. I do keep getting waves of post covid tiredness, but the pleasure is I don't have to go to work and I have lots of books, knitting, sewing to hand!
Virtually run out of things we want to watch on tv. Will have to have a trawl through Netflix films I think. Fancied watching Shetland from the start but it's on Prime and you have to pay. Not blooming likely!
DH is now well enough to potter in the garden and it's repaying his efforts. It's looking lovely and we have lots of birds visiting for a drink or a bath in the pond. Strangely, despite bird feeders, we see very few birds in winter but loads in summer. A mystery!
Happy Friday everyone11 -
For yesterday,
Did a top up shop as we have family staying at the weekend, popped in a choc covered marzipan bar as my elderly pal loves them.
Over to see equine pal, short but productive schooling session.
Visit to elderly friend, at one point we were laughing so much the tears were running down our faces, not sure who gets the most out of our meet ups, can heartedly recommend the Befriending Network.
Needed an early tea so mushroom risotto it was.
Trip out to Arts Theatre to see a play starring the Man from Atlantis 😉 very good and I was even treated to an ice cream tub at the interval.12 -
