For yesterday
1 I’ve been in hospital for a tiny little while, the nhs and most of its staff are just so amazing, I wasn’t expecting to go in so my phone went flat, and I didn’t have a book not that I could concentrate. They aren’t letting people in still which works well, but they do let people in with older confused and just one parent in with younger.
2 Home, lovely home.
3 Too tired to eat so slept first then food.
For today
1 Home and making plans again days out etc.
2 Speaking to the vet who seemed to change their mind so made an appointment.
3 Food from the freezer for dinner, veg, garlic chicken and hash browns, and meal planned from the freezer again.
4 About to read a little.

Sorry to hear you have been in hospital, PK. Hope you are on the mend now.
Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) One sickly hen still, but she still enjoyed a bit of hot cross bun.
3) Looked round the charity shops in Ludlow but didn't find anything except a CD for smaller son, to listen to in the car. Had a cup of tea in the cafe.
4) Did quite a lot of cooking. Made shepherds pies for tea with 4 for the freezer. Cooked a little round squash that I might make into pumpkin pie tomorrow. Also made some Millie's cookies.
5) Watched Holby City. There are only a few episodes left and I shall miss it when it has gone.
6) My brother popped in with some food (tins) to go towards the Ukraine appeal at our football club.13 -
Hello.Rubbish sleep. And then only woke when DD2 alarm went off which is about 90 minutes after I’d normally wake.Bright and breezy so washing hung outside and thankfully was literally just home when the rain started later on. Mostly dried.Lovely chat with DD1 and a chat the other day with the boy so I’m all caught up on what’s happening in their lives which makes me happy and settled ( as long as they are)
Had to take mum in to town to optician so got her settled in and I had a quick half an hour to myself. Managed to go to 2 charity shops, put tips in the bank and then florist for some eucalyptus.Charity shop…a nice pair of bottle green jeans from Laura Ashley for £1.99. Don’t think I’ve ever had green jeans before. A long bottle green thin jumper. A striped shirt for 99p and a nice stripy cardigan with fabulous buttons. This was a Per Una one. However there were so many different shades of these cardigans so I’m not sure if it was a job lot from someone’s wardrobe or if it was a job lot from M&S.
Then got a brand new long coat ( puffa style) for £6.99 in another charity shop so I was well chuffed with that! Have been looking for a new ( to me) one for doggy walking and this was perfect and new new to boot! Had to choose between grey or dusky pink so sought the opinion of the shop lady and we both agreed the pink was nicer however on a practical front I went for grey! Then back to get the mother and we went to M&S cafe and she had a coffee and scone and I’d a Diet Coke ( and no scone😀) then we were almost blown back to the car. Dropped her off and then had a nice chat with her next door neighbour as I was leaving.Home . Hello doggy. Yes I know it’s teatime!Made spag bol for tea. Friends were supposed to be coming for tea then had to rearrange time at last minute so didn’t need fed. Was supposed to be cottage pie. Anyway the beau has just had his bowl of reheated pasta after his work and the friends had leftover from the birthday party cakes. They came about 7.45 pm for a couple of hours so as usual much chatter and laughter. I ate strawberries ( chopped up)
Did a bit of cycling 🚴♀️ on exercise bike and reset the screen as I think it was still on old info…I don’t think I’d cycled 8km yesterday! The dog thinks it’s fun and wants to join in!13 -
Immediate first commiserations re:lost posts, happycas. Usually - and often - &'s fate.
1. Early out to Meriva, 0452h, two pink cirrus streaks in a new dawn sky.
2. Elderly CS friends/former colleagues. News cannot be life wound back at 84 and 88, but DG, P tfr'd to Addenbrookes at last.
3. Raffle Harridan's report written and in, fun piece done for upcoming preview. Have to reference 'Please Use Other Door'
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00146x4.
Every episode, as just now, includes viva voce reports 'from a rugby scrum, the Sudbury ground'. Amusing and apt - we have just scraped above them as League leaders and our biggest scrunch is away to Suds on the 26th! Every match now is a promotion decider.😬
4. Late night msg'g from Spain - 'We won the quiz'. Yaaay! Always do when &'s there, too. Vicarious victory shared.
Oh, to join again in the lovely Costa-lapping restaurant evening meal, always the perfect prize+takeaway fizz, which & always takes away to France.😁😇🍾
5. No idea how/why wedding invitation went to oldest Northern hemisphere Uni friend, but it did and, redirected, reached &squat yesterday. September 🙂👰♂🤵🏉-young rugby scientist friends.

Pk - please rest and take whatever time is needed to just BE. Excitement for your 4-foots maybe, from a friend the other day -

Dd - our Communion. Lovely S. now uses a studio-potted chalice, allowing separated wine and wafers. S takes a wafer, dips it and makes Communion for each person. Works well. & has commissioned local, but internationally noted, potter to make another.

Good morning. Hoping this post stays put!
PK - hope you soon feel better. Look after yourself x
Frith - sounds like a good trip to the Toon. Lots of varied experiences there!
DfV - thank you for the help with 'deprecated '. I barely use Docs on my kindle so I'll just wait and see what happens next!. Your key-of-the-door son sounds very happy. Happy son, happy mum ( and dad)
Ampersand - the cookies look great. Wish I liked peanut butter ( or peanuts!)
Broomstick - after our Tracy Chevalier 'chat' I looked online and found one I haven't read, The Last Runaway. Downloaded and waiting in the list.
We've had three glorious days here but today is misty. Not raining though so that's a plus.
Took the car in yesterday to get Sat nav sorted out. Logistics are difficult because it's about 4 miles away and not on a bus route. With some very kind friends giving lifts to and fro we managed. Lovely friends!
DH had to see the practice nurse re a problem with his surgery wound. Pleasure is she was able to sort everything out and prescribed antibiotics and extra dressings. Lovely nurse and lovely NHS.
Had liver and onions for tea. Haven't had it for ages and thoroughly enjoyed it. And rice pud for afters. Very old school!
Think a supermarket trip is on the cards today. Maybe buy a few extra staples ' just in case'. Can't stockpile because we haven't the room 😂
Happy Wednesday everyone

Fwiw, & does not like peanuts or peanut butter per se, but the biccies become another thing - promise. Also(ancient Post passim)shall never know why these took &'s eye in £land some years back. They are fatal! Again, nothing to do with liking/disliking peanuts.😁😇

Bright and breezy day so washing dried outside.
A parcel of SH books arrived in post.
A crow was dive bombing a red kite to drive it away from the beech trees, the raptor made the crow look small in comparison but away it went.
The mobile hairdresser visited small dog, lovely friend who does her reported sand still coming out of fur despite numerous brushes, now a pampered pooch.
The best news of the day / week / month etc, our club are buying back the freehold of the ground, admit to welling up when read statement and memories of dark days when we were hours away from going bust, we can now stay at the Abbey, our spiritual home 💛🖤13 -

good idea re communion Ampers
So yesterday City Fibre 'nipped' our Virgin cable - we now have no internet, no telephone, no television and no idea how long that will be (clearly longer than the hour they said) so for yesterday
1) A nice shower, new bar of soap, from my last overseas holiday (Rhodes), happy memories
2) made paella for lunch (recipe #8) - again as student cook book 'for 2' will last 4 meals
3) walked dogs down to meet DD2 then we watched Palin around the world in 80 days (well half of as then all went dead)
4) packed a portion of paella, hot-footed it down to the Tower, had a good impromptu meeting then got an office for my 4pm
5) stayed till 8 to finish a paper review then off to the pub to watch the Liverpool game
