Hey Broomstick 👋🏻Hugs to Mhags x
For yesterday,
Much better weather than was forecasted, lots of sunshine.
More beach time, small dog must do three times the mileage we do as she is constantly back & forth.
Late lunch, lovely pub that didnt mind wet & sandy dogs on their wooden floors, big bowl of mussels with corn bread, oh my.
Finished my latest book and have now started on The Women of Troy, P Barker.13 -
Many congratulations Admiral and Mrs BOP
Many hugs and love mhags, can't believe it's 5 years already
1) a very good meeting with my first ever masters student (2011) who was awarded ASME new researcher of the year for his dissertation - he wants to involve Dundee in his latest project
2) chunky fish soup - very nice but (as from student cookbook) far too much for 2, even with my big appetite
3) dd2 brought home last year's Paschal candle
4) which means of course pancakes
5) then pub with Mr G, Mr E and Dr M (late as always) - Dr M seemed very very relaxed, definitely coming tonight

Morning all.
Big hugs Mhags.
Frith, I haven’t seen it yet but the Knife Angel is such a powerful sculpture, even just in internet photos. I want to see it for real.
Five pleasures:
1. Feedback from a seller on Amazon. I’d only just discovered that a delivery I’d received late last year was incomplete. He got back to me straight away to sort it out and put it right. Will be leaving a good review.
2. Started a new library audiobook - ‘A Single Thread’ by Tracy Chevalier – really enjoying it.
3. H/m apple and celeriac soup for lunch - a happy experiment, ie without a recipe, to deal with some very tired apples and a how-do-I-use-this-up? celeriac.
4. The primroses coming up on our tiny lawn.
5. Giving in and switching on the heating for an hour last night. It was so welcome!
Have a good Wednesday

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Did an online work course during the morning.
3) Went to see the lady who owns a hen (that is in the pen with my hens) to check that she can look after them while we're away and had a chat.
4) Took some bits to the charity shop. Had a cup of tea in Sainsburys.
5) Smaller son went to college and told a teacher he is going on holiday this weekend.
6) Quite a tasty tea.11 -
1) went to the Ash Wednesday service at lunch time - caught the bus
2) DD2 joined me, it was a lovely service
3) then we went for a cuppa at Henry's and DD had a chocolate muffin
4) fish for supper - very nice
5) then mennies to watch Luton v. Chelsea. 2-3 but the boys gave it their all.
Here are the 3 amigos in our Luton scarves - Mr G, Dr M and me - apart from the score it was a good nightMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

4. Messaging a friend.

Montserrat - I'm not sure giving up sugar is a 'pleasure' 🤣
DD - ooh a picture of Dr M.... 😁
Pleasures for yesterday
1. More tutorials - I do really enjoy them though. Can't wait to see what all the (39, DD 😮) dissertations turn up when i read them.
2. marzipanned MiL's cake - finished it today
(Not sure why / how my pictures always come out so huge)
Decoration is not my forte - the Happy birthday thing will be suspended on a stick surrounded by hearts and stars.
3. Did some more family tree climbing - Still finding it all so fascinating even after nearly 2 years
4. DS got his first insult from a passenger at work - he was delighted 🤣🤣
5. Yummy tea of potato spinach and stilton cake with asparagus and sauteed Kale.
Have a great day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -

Nice doggy walk.Meeting with boss. We had some forward planning to do so went to a new-ish place to do it. Enjoyed a peppermint tea. No scone…lent has started! No cakes/ pastry/pie/ biscuits/ bread! Waaah! See how I go…think they’re all my staple diet!Quick nip in to town to get a few bits for today. Holy moly at the steps up hill on way back! I’d parked for free at my old school and used to hop skip and jump back up them! The calves and hips were complaining!Chatted to mum on phone having chatted to specialist nurse on phone! Some wires always get crossed. Uncrossed them!Right…I’m procrastinating I actually came upstairs to hoover so I can start downstairs! It’s a birthday day ( DD2) and we have peoples coming tonight! Not had peoples in for so long! Other than my best friends!11 -
Morning all
VJsmum, that hugecake looks great. I did the stick and stars thing on my mum's 90th cake too - works really well.
Five recent pleasures:
1. Breakfast in bed again this morning.
2. Phone call with a very helpful and understanding Council Tax person who clarified my bill (at long last) which means that I don't need all the money I'd earmarked to pay it and can now just about afford to buy another cubic metre of wood for the stove. Very good news.
3. A few hours spent with DS1 who was helping me clean and declutter.
4. Vegan burger in a bun for tea.
5. More audiobook.
Have a good Thursday.
