Quiet day but nice to be quiet after a week of loud and busy and mad .
Much hoovering, floor washing & loo cleaning! We had a lovely tea of steak pie & I think the very last leftover from work baked potato from the freezer chopped up and roasted with veg.Friend sent a text, she’d left a wee something for me in a flower pot.Chat over the garden wall with someone from allotment.Showery, windy and not very warm but got the grass cut so it always looks better.
chat with DD1 this morning.12 -
1 A weird pleasure, I had my tooth extracted this morning, by the best dentists we have ever been to.
2 When I got in I did the washing in and a new load out, while I could.
3 Chicken soup for lunch, tomato soup for tea for me.
4 Watching the bees all over the palm tree flowers, the pond yellow iris's are out, and another beautiful plant has recovered after beening smothered by a passifloraSinking to pain / pills and bed now while the extraction settles.

Recent pleasures:
waking up to sunshine ☀️, I don’t do hot but I love to see the sun.
The garden blooming into life. Every day there is a new flower, poppies springing up after self seeding last year, a white Lilly bloom and this morning the first deep purple flower on the clematis just outside the back door.
Met my best friend today for lunch at riverside pub in nearby town.
i was worried it would be too hot but we had shade and there was a nice breeze.
Enjoyable chicken club sandwich, good chat and she bought me a silk face mask as she said they are much cooler than others 😊

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Took eggs to the neighbours across the village. Hens OK.
3) Drove to collect bigger son then all the way home then to the dentist (appointment number 9). He now has a temporary bridge and looks atrocious! I'm usually only complimentary to the dentist about her work but he sat up from the dentist's chair and I said, "He looks like a shark!" New tooth is being manufactured ready for next week.
4) Went to have my hair cut at college (first time in 15 months) and the young lad cutting it was very chatty. He was following the Euros but is Italian. I knew the other student working in the salon as she used to go to the school I worked at. £3 for the haircut and it is substantially better than any of my DIY haircuts since lockdown.
5) Took bigger son back to work. He had bought a bunch of roses for his girlfriend and they are going on holiday together this weekend. He has now met her mum and her brother. Her brother is autistic, so she should not be surprised by smaller son.
6) Smaller son had a good day at college and they asked him his favourite take away meal (sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style) so he will be cooking that on Wednesday.
7) Had a chat with the new neighbour and also his girlfriend (hadn't met her before). They are working extremely hard on making the place habitable and have just bought their new (ex display) kitchen. The garden has had swathes of brambles cut down and looks much better already.
Much trouble afoot at the other neighbours' with the police here on Saturday night. (I didn't hear anything until the police arrived so don't know who called them or why). It looked rather serious for a while with 4 police officers searching my garden and the gardens on either side (I did pop down to turn the outside light on for them, as it is pitch black). They are both now moving their belongings much more rapidly - they split up a few months ago. The new new neighbour will move in at the end of the month and occasionally sends me a FB message as the existing neighbours aren't answering her questions. I did feel a bit sorry for the chap tonight. He came back to collect more stuff (he isn't living there) and stopped in the garden to take some last photos of the view.
8) Watched a few episodes of Fleabag. I've watched it once before and it seems bleaker this time!

1. My non working Monday. Always a good day.
2. Cleaned the bathroom and shower very well and it looks much better. The plants have been well watered too.
3. Had a remedial massage - less painful than last time but still painful. I do have more movement again which is good. Still much work to be done. Feeling slightly battered and bruised today.
4. Cooked a tasty fish stew for tea.
5. Relaxed in the garden and some weeding done.11 -
For yesterday,
Loaf proved and baked by 9am, good job as very hot day.
A bit of gentle long-reining for equine girlie followed by a nice, cool sponge down.
Hadn’t slept that well so a cheeky snoozete after lunch.
My thyme now has flowers on and the pollinators are loving them.
Early night and reading in bed.9 -
1) I opened a tin of chick peas for a salad at lunchtime and kept the aqua faba (the liquid from the tin) as I usually throw it away without thinking and I know it's a useable ingredient and makes a meringue look alike...looked online and found a recipe for a soft scoop ice cream that doesn't need churning! just into a container and freeze so I made some using plum puree from the freezer and some preserved ginger with it's syrup from a jar...WOW! it's the nicest ice cream ever and it made a huge volume and it IS soft scoop...will ring the changes this summer as our home grown fruit ripens...what a discovery!
2) A nice evening walk once the day had cooked a bit.
3) Watching the swifts wheeling in the sky 'hawking' for insects, so graceful they make it look effortless.
4) Bath time with the Granddaughter on what's app, she's beginning to learn her letters and they have some foam floating ones which she held up one at a time and most enthusiastically told us 'O, 'E', 'B' she's a little knowledge sponge at the moment and just beginning to string sentences together and so interested in everything!
5) It's not as hot as it was yesterday by some 6 degrees so I'm hoping it is cooler all day and I can get a bit more done in all areas.9 -

DD - was about to say "an EE meeting with no lunch?" but then realised it's probably virtual?
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Making real progress at SiL's. A bit more distressing reading around BiL's illness but needs must. I'm focusing on the positive - she now has BiL's items in hand, knows there's nothing to worry about in there and can let it be now. She also has a much cleaner tidier room.
2. Also made a good start on the second nightmare room. Unfortunately SiL sees herself as the 'keeper of all things others don't want'. If i heard "Oh I've got that because so and so was chucking it out and i thought i could use it" once, i heard it a couple of dozen (literally - if not more) times. Even she started laughing in the end.
3. More washing dried in the beautiful sunshine
4. HOme and a soak in the bath - felt like i was covered in cat hair (sorry cat lovers, but there was cat hair everywhere in the house (might also be the dog, but i'm afraid i'm blaming the cat!)). Through the door, straight into a hot bubbly bath. That's better.
5. My bed!
Have a lovely day all. I'm hoping for a more restful and cleaner one!I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -
for today (I know it's not done yet but very excited)
1) just been approved as a recognised supervisor by the UKCGE and now add this to my work signature2) loving having all the windows open
3) lunch with friends
4) which means there's the last portion of hm soup for tea
5) then watching france germany with mr geography and dr no
