For yesterday,
Bit of a lie-in followed by breakfast in the garden.
Morning spent at the yard, already v warm so took my girlie for a walk in-hand around the fields, we did a bit of lateral groundwork and then she grazed on the edges while I day dreamed.
Spent a lovely afternoon at DB’s where my DSIL was hosting a baby shower for my niece, saw family & friends for first time in well over a year and was good to catch up on everybody’s news.
My DB came home from watching footie at a friends with the worrying news about CE but the pleasure was by the time I had driven home the prognosis seemed much better.
HM cheese burgers for tea with a big salad.9 -
for yesterday
1) another sunny day, all the windows open and salad for lunch and supper and managed to get a big chunk of the phd reviewed
2) gbf came round for a cuppa then walked him down to opticians where he was going to be 'a while' as having pupil-widening drops
3) then walked boys home along 'woozle walk' - found a plastic sack in the hedge so used that to pick up litter which i am pleased to say reducing
4) gbf phoned and i walked down without the boys (they were too hot) and we had icecream yum
5) then walked him down to the bus stop then home and managed to finish up to chapter 7 of phd - only another 2 chapters to goMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

A mix for the weekend
1-5 We went to visit friends last night who have been through a lot in lock down, we haven’t seen them since before lockdown, there till gone midnight. I think they would be happy to talk throu the night.
6 We stopped on the way back to help a chap in distress, and it might be that they are new future friends, we exchanged numbers.
7 An ice cold fruit smoothie was lovely in this heat.
8 An easy freezer to oven pizza with various added toppings, followed by really lovely scones and cream.
9 Birds loudly using the bird bath.

Good morning - and it is too. Another sunny day. I love it.
DGD came to see us yesterday. We did some French homework on her laptop ( my new catchphrase 'Don't press send until we check it!) , made some paper pompoms and began to sew a little felt teddy. All the while being regaled by tales of school, drama club, cookery, Netflix.......oh, we've missed her this past year!
Began watching Tea with Mussolini. Really enjoying it. Well, with those three great actresses it's got to be good.
Finished watching In Plain Sight. Again, excellent actors made it really good. Martin Compston was a frighteningly good psychopath, and I like Douglas Henshall in nearly anything.
The garden is really thriving. Things that were badly frosted earlier have fought back and are now looking good.
DD is back from a lovely week in Devon. We're now trying to arrange a trip to see Andrea Bocelli next September in Sheffield. Though I quite fancy Madison square garden!
Lost another pound!! Woo hoo. It's a lot easier in summer though.
Happy 'nother sunny day everyone

Enjoy those well earned days off Mhags.
For yesterday,
Was watering the garden at 6am ahead of another hot day.
Caught up on all things Ambridge.
Apart from the two hours watching and enjoying the footie, most of the day was spent reading in the garden, very indolent but most enjoyable. Small dog had her paddling pool in the shade so a lot of the time my bare feet had a damp dog lying across them!DSIL sent me some smashing pics of the baby shower.
Walked small dog in relative cool of the evening, the field crop has really shot up in the last week.9 -
Morning all. Still at the sister in law's. Pleasures for yesterday
1. Oh the warm sunshine. I love it so. Spent most of the day indoors unfortunately but dog walks were blissful
2. It also meant that we could get through some of mount washmore. 4 loads yesterday with another 3 or 4 today 😳
3. A cathartic burning of private and harrowing diaries of deceased brother in law. She asked me to look through them and see what I thought. She was thinking about keeping them for the children but they were so triggering that we decided that the children should not read them. So we had a kind of little ceremony and burned them. It was very cleansing.
4. Lots of stuff ebayed.
5. A takeaway curry
More of the same today..I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -
1) A really good full night's sleep (until I was rudely awoken this morning at 7 by a text from Royal Mail).
2) Granddaughter and her parents came for a garden afternoon yesterday and that was really lovely, much playing, much laughing, much running around and much tea drunk.
3) Sitting on our new garden chairs beside my Kumquat tree which is absolutely covered in the sweetest fragranced tiny white flowers and watching the bees, they love it.
4) Doing the watering last night when the day had cooled, it's my relaxy time and I love the quiet peace and the light quality as the day softens.
5) Prospect of Tennis on the TV for a few weeks, we don't 'do' football but Queens followed by Wimbledon will be lovely, we're avid rugby fans and still a few matches to go and we're absolutely loving the UK T20s in county cricket too, can't wait for September to get the IPL T20s back too that's just such fun.8
