Congratulations VJsmum daughter.
1. Work ok. Ignored by some but day went smoother because of it.
2. When I let chickens out into the garden they ran over to the ducks. It looked like they were telling the ducks that they were out now and in charge.
3. Chat with neighbour.
4. Did some housework - not much but house looks better for it.
5. Cancelled holiday to Spain in early July- moved from last year and booked 5 days in Jersey instead.11 -
1) We have the sweep coming today and also the new washing machine after the old one died in a puddle on Sunday morning!
2) We finally had the windows cleaned yesterday, we've tried over the years to get a regular cleaner but not been able to find anyone reliable. Neighbour saw a lady cleaning someone's windows last week and asked if she was a business...yes she was...so she booked her for herself and asked if she'd do us too...fab job, nice lady and booked for 2 months time. I did all the insides last evening when the sun was off them and it all looks so much better.
3) Lettuce in the garden ready to harvest, salad bowl cut and come again so it will be part of lunch today.
4) Lovely lady at the local health food shop is going to order me some barley flour so I can make Maslin Bread (medieval recipe), they don't stock it normally but she's visiting a bigger branch next week and said she'd look to see if they had any and bring me one back...so nice.
5) OH has managed to take apart and repair the hedge trimmer which stopped working the other day, fixed and going again saving another expense, he's a practical chappie.10 -
For yesterday,
Busy morning, cleaned the bathrooms, swept the floors and wiped down upstairs.
Postie came with a parcel from World of Books, the ‘to be read’ pile bedside our bed is now reassuringly high again.
Sorted through some clothes, couple of bits put by for selling and the rest bagged up for the CS.
Filling the bird feeders and seeing lots of tiny green apples on our tree.
Quick tea of prawn stir fry with lentil noodles and plenty of fresh ginger.

Congratulations to VJs daughter 😊
Recent pleasures:
Enjoying the hot tub in this glorious weather ☀️ However it is too hot for me to go walking so will have to start going for early morning walks like I did last year.
No walk with friend yesterday as above so she came round for lunch in the garden, we enjoyed our favourite duck pancakes 😋 and a glass of red wine 🍷
Elderly neighbour going for a respite care tomorrow in a lovely looking home with the possibility of staying on permanently, it’s near her daughter, in the Midlands. She is very nervous about it but the pleasure for her is she will have 24 hour care on hand and the pleasure for me is that I won’t get called out by the care line to get her up off the floor at 1 am or 3 am in the morning!!
Going to Wickes this afternoon to see the designer and hopefully order everything I need for new bathroom, as the builders are due to start when we are on holiday in 3.5 weeks time! Hope I can get it sorted.
Enjoy your day 😘
PS Lainey how do you do your feta and spinach filo pie, really missing that as no Greek holidays last 2 years.12 -

Good afternoon
VJ's mum - excellent news about D D's new job. It's such a relief when things start to go right for offspring, isn't it.
Can't remember what happened yesterday except it was beautifully hot. Mostly sorting out and tidying round in advance of today.
And today....
Back to the caravan. Weather is absolutely perfect - well, for me anyway. Very warm and only the gentlest of sea breezes. None of that easy coast ' bracing' wind.
Wandered along the prom and just generally appreciated how very lucky we are!
Checkout lady in the co-op admired my dress so I proudly told her I'd made it myself. She said I should be on Sewing Bee. It would be a very long programme if I was on. The dress took about 3 months to make! But I was still very pleased she'd said it.
Happy glorious day everyone

Hello. Four down .Five to go. Oooooooft!Thought I’d pressed snooze this morning. I hadn’t but thankfully woke up in plenty time!Lovely walk over rather fields just us and the birds.
Sat up in the garden for a bit just breathing in cool air.Work. Done. Tips a few. In the jar.
Home.Funny thing, friend had sent a text on Sunday was I free on Wednesday late afternoon l said I was working and would be knacked so could we do next week. Was coming out of bosses street after dropping off stuff and met friend so she ended up coming into mine and we blethered for a while and caught up on each other’s news.A lasagna from Lidl and a leftover baked potato from work for tea9 -

Keep going, MHags!
Quick pleasures for today (Wednesday) as I am running out of steam.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son went to college (wouldn't go on Monday and I was dubious about today). He had a good time and played badminton.
3) Hens OK.
4) Got housework done very early on.
5) Off to get my eyebrows threaded - first time in 15 months! Also beard waxed off. This took her a not inconsiderable effort. The curse of the raven haired.
6) Had to go from that town to where bigger son works. I did not go the quickest way and the phone decided it couldn't use the internet anymore so I just headed for Barnt Green. I came to it from a completely different direction from normal! Went to the charity shop and found a Moomintroll book for my niece.
7) Here the driving clocked up as it is a good 20 miles each way to bigger son's work, then an additional 16 mile round trip to the dentist. So we came home, dentist, home then back to his work... This was his 8th tooth appointment today and the only one that wasn't perfect. Injections given, teeth drilled flat at the back (ready to take an impression for a bridge). The whole dentists had run out of stuff to make impressions. I thought the dentist was going to faint. She had to cover her work with temporary filling and it means another 100 mile trip plus day off work for bigger son to get the impression made next week.
8) The drive back to his work took 1.5 hours so I stopped at Waitrose for a rest. 5 hours of driving today.
9) Watched Great British Sewing Bee.
10) An interesting exchange of messages this evening. New buyer downhill neighbour (not the newly installed uphill neighbours!) has had no end of problems with the existing people as they have refused to answer her questions and claim "not to know" where the septic tank is. This comes as no surprise as they are, as my Aunty Sandra would say, pig ignorant. Anyway, new lady had run out ideas so tracked me down and I sent photos of boundary maps etc, some with my finger pointing to where our shared septic tank is! She seems jolly and hopefully will be in by the end of the month! It's been a while since we've had really good people on both sides simultaneously, though to be fair we've only ever had one really ropey lot.

Carolbee, yes anything a bit different.
1 Today has been dropping DH off for more pre ops at the hospital that all went fine, I’m so pleased as we have worked hard on blood pressure and weight. I drove around to avoid parking charges / enjoy the air con. I ended up popping into B and M for some animal cleaning bits and bobs, and found their pet containers without lids on offer for 10p so picked them up as we can match them to lids where I broke the container at home!
2 Home and wow the animals were pleased to see us in a never leave us even for an hour again type of way.
3 I wish I could say I resisted the temptation to make a bacon brie and chilli jam sandwich but it was delicious, I sat out in the sun and read a few chapters of Neil Gaimen.
4 Bird feeders re filled.
5 I’ve found some lovely bright clothes online, but I haven’t purchased on the mse mantra, but have left them in the basket while I ponder some more.
6 Out again this afternoon this time for my injection, and popped into Aldee for essentials only, some milk, British apples and a seeded bread.
