Hello. A day of workety work. The pleasure being it’s done. Felt like I knew what was what this week.A nice walk to work though think it was chillier on the way home . Lovely gardens. Lovely scent of wild roses.
Bones ache but maybe not as much as last week ( though still very achy)
Got some tips ( like not very much but into the jars it shall go!)OH birthday today ( whilst forever forty seven) so we are just about to have dinner together (Takeaway and it’s just arrived)
Bought his favourite cakes for pudding.
Have a nice evening x11 -

Evening all - and a lovely one it seems too.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. DD birthday - 24, how did that happen? Having her was one of the most traumatic times of my life but luckily most of the trauma was on the 17th (she was born at 00.52) so i don't have to remember that bit. She had a lovely day - the weather was AWFUL so she was thrilled that we didn't force her to go out.
2. She loved her presents - one of which was a weighted blanket which, fortunately cos it cost an arm and a leg, she loves. We watched films and i made a great cake (according to others rather than me).
3. I did some yoga
4. We had a takeaway from a favourite restaurant (as we are in ICT, which is a town in Wales for the uninitiated, you cannot yet go into restaurants) and it was nom. I had a fish curry
5. ICT turned up trumps on all the things i discovered i hadn't got for cake baking - cake tins, cake container and baking paper.
And today
1. Up early and OH and i went for a walk to one of our favourite places - where we discovered a bonus walk!
2. the weather is vastly improved - blue sky and sunshine but just a tad fresh
3. Friends came for socially distanced drink in the garden - haven't seen them in the flesh since February
4. OH cooked tea - he and DS had sausage and i had chicken, lentil and bacon casserole from the freezer (DD is playing Dungeons and Dragons).
5. Red wine
Have a lovely evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
thinking of you on dh's birthday mhags
1) apologies to dundee for the intermittent rain - every time i put the bedding out it started to rain enough for me to get the bedding in for the rain to stop to put the bedding out again... finally it stayed dry and the bedding got line dried which is always an mse pleasure
2) curry for one for lunch - it was a using up left overs curry
3) gbf came round and we walked the dogs. on the way back he bought ice cream - i had choc mint
4) chicken and roasties for supper - dd2 ate 7 roasties (!) - they are her fave
5) i got all my pots planted up - so nice to have got to the garden centre this weekendMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Sunday).
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son put the video of his most recent bike packing trip on YouTube. Very atmospheric shots, through the mist.
3) Got the house reasonably tidy.
4) Watered the courgettes and tomatoes and got ready...
5) Picked up the hens! They were barn hens (rather than battery) but 2 are in worse condition than any ex batts we have had before. They had had to change the pick up location (due to Coronavirus) and it turned out to be in the garden of smaller son's midwife's house! Handover went OK.
6) Have spent most of the time from 4pm onwards watching hens and walking down to the allotment to put them to bed then to make sure they have stayed in bed. We have large brown (Deborah Meaden), large blonde (Paloma Faith), small and fast blonde (Beanie) and small, frail, dark escape artist (Derren Brown). They all have to be taught how to drink from a bowl (which is unpleasant) and put to bed as they don't know where to go. Derren eats whilst lying down; all their legs are weak as they have never really walked anywhere.
7) Have signed up to Prolific Surveys for some mortgage overpayment money (hopefully).12 -
Frith
didn't realise that the hens come to you in poor condition. Something to think about.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger. You know who you are.....
I HAVE A GOLD STAR and A MEDAL and a Title !11 -
Unfortunately they’re all weak, worn out and with bald patches when they’re rehomed (18 months old). Until today they had never seen daylight or scratched about and pecked at grass.
They’re not ill as such (all fed and vaccinated), they’re just ruined.
This is a rather unflattering shot of Derren Brown. She can lift her head to eat (thank goodness!) but she should be standing up, not with her legs splayed out like this.13 -
Frith - I would have thought been hens would be in slightly better condition than ex battery.
1. Weeded a part of the garden which had been left for a while - looks so much better.
2. Chat with neighbour.
3. Went out to a pub for lunch. It was a carvery where you now don't help yourself. It was as good as ever.
4. Daw another neighbours extension. It made a vast difference to their kitchen and looks wonderful.
5. More work done in the garden. Some of the dead branches of cobnut trees have been cut down.12 -
Frith - those poor hens, so glad you have them now to give them some TLC. Thank goodness free range 🥚 are now so available😊
Recent pleasures:
Lovely visit to local park with sister and great niece, where we all visited the small collection of animals, including meerkats. They are doing such a good job there rehoming animals.
Yummy local sausages in rolls and blackberry and clotted cream ice cream for lunch at the park.
Walked elderly neighbour down to my house to see my new kitchen and have a cup of tea. First time she has been out of her house, except 4 nights in hospital, since lockdown!
Nice enough weather to use hot tub a couple of times.
Not feeling too great last couple of days, pleasure being don’t have to go anywhere and shopping delivered to me! 😊
Have a great week everyone 😘13
