I've just helped myself to a few small fat slices of cold turkey

You're a clever chap Farway - I wouldn't have a clue
.
Money - I haven't found Pinterest, but my attention has been drawn to 'youtube tutorials' - some of which are excellent for duffers like me
I would think (someone can probably confirm this) that you could haul up something/anything on Pinterest by googling for "Pinterest + that board I mentioned".
Think it should come up okay.
When you do get a board up - you will see an empty banner headline at the top of the webpage. You put in whatever topic it is you're interested in on that - and hopefully at least one person will have done a board with that or a similar name.
I've not quite figured out how to make up a board for myself from things that havent got the little "attach to Pinterest" thingie on them - will need to work on that I think.0 -
HM Turkey soup + crusty bread + french cheese + the last glass of wine in the bottle = a very happy Caronc:D. Simple pleasures ....:D0

Up before the lark, could not drop back to sleep
Looks frosty outside, but I can get to the shops, in fact I'm up & about before they open
Due to stupid hour I had a peek at TV, what a lot of tosh shopping on there at stupid o'clock
Gave me chance to have a bacon & brown sauce sandwich for breakfast, I had toyed with turkey but went off that once I opened the fridge
The stollen is starting to go stale now, light bulb moment, turn it into trifle :j
I have most of the items, I may get a tin of mixed fruit while I'm out, back to 1950s for my trifle. No cream but will use thick Greek yoghurt as a sop to health claim, fruit & yoghurt:)Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Its nearly over :j that long period of time, mostly spent in silence. I have spent some of that time re-vamping my home accounts and joined the savings thread

So yesterday I froze cakes, bought far too many, waitrose, speculas and mini mince pies and a lot of that thick cream is left, throwing it out today, was a waste just for a couple of mouthfuls. Food started to be more normal yesterday, except that the maltesers were eaten.
Breakfast, spelt flakes, dried raspberries and A2 milk, later will be a cheese toasted sandwich, toastabag so one cheddar slice and no spread. Lunch, yesterday`s roasted veg mixed with egg and baked. Last meal, soup and plain bread. In betweeners, fruit, walnuts, dark chocolate and I will try and get out on my bike. Just have to check the air temperature, not good to breathe very cold air at my age. I may end up just staying in and knitting
Welcome back to relative normality0 -
Good morning everyone,
I've been reading that thread too Kittie so may also join, I'm in the process of revamping on my budgeting (I use a spread sheet) now my pension is more or less sorted out (I'm saying more or less as HMRC mucked up my tax code initially:mad: and I'm not sure if the new one will kick in this month).
I got most of the fridge sorted out yesterday just some LO turkey to freeze today and a bit of Water Buffalo my friend brought over (it is really tasty like a cross between beef and venison).:)
Food wise today I'm not sure, fruit for breakfast and soup/salad for lunch but I'll see what the kids are up to before I plan for this evening. Something with salmon I think.0 -
Morning all,
Glad to hear people are home safe and sound.
Wow Black Russians that takes me back to about 1978 , I was never very keen on cola but in drinking these I discovered mixing cola and alcohol made me sick - perhaps I should try a white one
There is a slight covering of snow around here again but hopefully not too much more coming our way this time. I couldn't be bothered clearing the drive yesterday so walked to the local shop to get some softies, I didn't see another soul apart from the shop assistant, what's happened to everyone.
Finally got around to making a Nut Roast yesterday, first time ever making/eating and I really enjoyed it, drawback = I now have six portions in the freezer.
I need to make a pie filling mixture with the last of the turkey and get that in the freezer as well, but tonight I fancy https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/stiltonsouffle_79047 with a green salad and slice of garlic bread.
Just had a tomato sandwich for breakfast and will have another piece of nut roast with some coleslaw followed by some fresh fruit for lunch.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £42.190 -
Hard, hard, frost here overnight.
Two sausage rolls will be heated up at some point ....
Meals are no longer roughly defined as being a collection of appropriate food on a plate.... but are random foods grabbed here and there and scoffed directly from the hand. e.g. crisps, peanuts, chocolates0 -
