lol, who needs company when I have elvis
I bought a cd present to myself a couple of weeks ago. Doesn`t half bring back memories and makes me jig around with a duster in my hand
Tiny christmas tree is out this morning and cards are out. I had enough and want to be back to normal as quite honestly, normal is much nicer. Freezing cold out, so jigging around will be all the exercise I get today that and singing along
Caronc, I had to take myself in hand re my spending etc. For a long time, money meant nothing after husband died but I could have 30 years ahead of me and will not be a burden to family or society. Anway, I am glad I had that reality check
Those toastabags make a nice toasted sandwich, fewer calories too0 -

I used to butter the outsides, I like crusty. Also one ready made cheese slice is thinner than I can cut myself, my new plan to try and intake fewer calories day by day0

I just decided I think .... it'll be "Turkey & Chips" today.
Mum used to get the chip pan out and make fresh chips, fried in Stork margarine, with turkey leftovers ..... I don't do chip pans and hot oil .... oven chips FTW.
Might dollop a spoon of that cranberry on the side because it needs to be used up at some point.... and, bizarrely, I might even serve some Brussels on the side. They're sitting there needing to be used up ... so I might as well toss a few on the side.0 -
50+ years of electrical experience helps;)
A very useful skill to have
Morning everyone,
A very sharp frost here and feeling quite cold out there. I ventured out earlier to pick up some bits and pieces and there were lots of moans and groans from customers about having eaten too much. I bet the doctor's surgery is bulging today.
Breakfast was a couple of weetabix, followed by half a grapefruit. I usually eat grapefruit cold, but my sister-in-law prepared one for me over xmas that was warm and it was so delicious that I tried it out for myself - it was ok
Not much on the agenda today apart from looking for a 'good deal' on a flight to Florida. I've decided to make the trip in February to share my mother-in-law's birthday with her. She will be 87 and is becoming increasingly frail, so I feel I must visit soon.
Hope everyone is well and has an enjoyable day0 -

Wow Black Russians that takes me back to about 1978 , I was never very keen on cola but in drinking these I discovered mixing cola and alcohol made me sick - perhaps I should try a white oneCaronc, I had to take myself in hand re my spending etc. For a long time, money meant nothing after husband died but I could have 30 years ahead of me and will not be a burden to family or society. I've just had a real tasty banana it was just at that perfect (for me) stage of ripeness where they are softish but not squishy:D0 -
I really love YouTube and Pinterest.
It's nice reading about the money saving goals people on here set themselves. I do that too, but find that very few people I know really talk about it in everyday conversation.
I had a banana and spinach smoothie, I used to have one every morning, but fell out of the habit. It shows how out of the habit I am as I keep putting in too much spinach or water. I made myself three big glasses today and it was far too much and I had to pour half of the last glass away. I gave my husband a glass of the smoothie yesterday and he said it tasted like grass.:rotfl:I had a different blender back then as well and I knew how to measure the amounts by eye.
Anyway, well, that smoothie filled me up so I haven't had anything else yet. I'm going to have WM toast with marg and Marmite as my second breakfast or brunch.
Spicy roasted chickpeas with some more of that avocado and corn salad for lunch.
ETA Oh yes, I still have a whole bag of salad left and I was wondering if it could be turned into soup? I don't see why not if I add onions, carrots, bouillon etc... and blend it with my stick blender.
That might be my lunch then with a vegan cheese toastie and have the chickpea thing for dinner.
Now my stomach is really rumbling so I must be more hungry than I thought.0 -
I've never had a smoothie - the idea doesn't appeal. I imagine a stringy texture, with the occasional long string of "unidentifiable green stuff" slurping down one's chin where it didn't break up. Ewwww.
I don't have a food processor.
Milkshake is the closest I can bear, texture wise, to what any fruit/veg smoothie might be like.0 -
I had the toast and put the soup on. The bag of salad was huge, no wonder I couldn't finish two of them on my own.
When I was making the soup I thought about that old story Stone Soup. I don't know if other people remember that one.:D2025 GOALS

yay, I am back into veg juicing, the tide has turned. I have been juicing veg for 35+ years and had one of those green life juicers with a big footprint and a long snout. Last year I gave that one away and bought a vertical slow juicer, small footprint and very easy and quick to clean. This morning was carrot/fennel/kale/celery and a bit of lemon flesh. Yummy and now an easy food day as lunch is mostly veg, will be baked with an egg mix. That will be well over 10 by the end of the day as I still have to take raspberries out to defrost. It is being easy to eat well today, just wish it was warmer, I like >8 for cycling as there are colder patches and potentially frosty surfaces
wednesday, I have made soup from salad previously and even had baked cucumber as a veg0
