I've just had some scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast and a cheese and pickle sandwich for lunch.
Dinner is a 'rinse and repeat' of yesterday's goulash. I'll have it with wedges today to make it a bit different from yesterday when I had it with rice. I really CBA to bother with food today. I must go and freeze the remaining portion of the goulash while I think of it.0 -

We used to have a "birthday tea" - no cake. Just what mum thought was "your favourite food" from the usual list of dinners she'd make. She'd often get it wrong though.
One year I didn't get one. I found out 2-3 weeks later that they'd had it without me. I was at home just 2-3 miles down the road and they'd been at their house "waiting for me" - and nobody'd thought to phone and tell me there was a birthday tea at theirs!0 -
No real CFO today as I'm going to Mum and Dad's for my birthday tea which is going to be chicken in white wine, mushroom and cream sauce with dauphinois potatoes and green veg. Followed by lashings of birthday cake I'm sure. I had scrambled eggs on toast for lunch and an orange. My Mum has dropped some lovely flowers off for me which I put in the kitchen and they look lovely and cheery.
Enjoy your meal, it sounds really tasty0 -
Afternoon folks
Another dull weather day here, bit drizzly still so another day of postponing the fruit trees' summer pruning
With the weather I thought a nice hot home cooked, sort of, meal would be nice tonight, thus it will be YS Waitrose singles cottage pie, with steamed fresh veggies, including some of my never ending runners & courgette
Lunch was the last of the Focaccia with salad filling, plus drizzle of salad cream. It made a right mess, dropped bits every where, but that is a plus of single living, who is going to criticise or tut tut?
I am starting to think a fish finger sarnie may make an appearance at Chez Farway sometime this week, to ketchup or mayo? That is the question, I like bothEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Happy Birthday SunnyG - hope you have a lovely meal with your parents:bdaycake:Afternoon folks

It has been a beautiful sunny afternoon most of which I spent lazing in the garden with my book. However, I have finally got all my planting up done:D, just the front garden to knock into shape now......
Really enjoyed my fridge gravel slaw at lunchtime and there is enough for another couple of portions so lunches are sorted for a couple of days. I've still quite a list of use ups though so should be a cheap food shop this week which is great as I'm needing to restock loo rolls and laundry stuff as having visitors has depleted these and as you know from early days on this thread CFOers get twitchy if there aren't industrial quantities of loo rolls stashed;):rotfl:0 -
Hiccy Burpday Sunny G!
What a day! Started my extra job today, effectively I'll be doing 7am til 7pm Monday to Thursday, I started at 10am today and I'm knackered!
I'm going to bed as soon as my washing is done and I've hung it around the room Chinese laundry style!
Breakfast was a jam sandwich, lunch was chicken/brocoli... got to 5pm and was ravenous but had to wait until 8pm when I got home, made portions of pasta with tomato, ham, spoonful of pasta sauce and squirt of mayo, lots of salt and pepper, few pinches of various herbs! I'll start taking that in too and have that for breakfast, chicken for lunch and my jam sandwich at 5pm!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. My meal was gorgeous and Mum and Dad had really worked hard. We had chicken in a white wine, garlic, cream and mushroom sauce with boulangerie potatoes, green beans and carrots. Followed by a choice of 2 Aldi puds either lemon cheesecake or chocolate hazelnut roulade with cream. I had a piece of each
Then birthday cake and a glass of fizz. Got a beautiful watch from the children and their partners and a huge bunch of my favourite lillies. Back home now and having a cup of tea and feeling spoiled.

Btw thank you for resurrecting that old old style thread on shopping and cooking for singles. It's a great read and I've subscribed to it to read at my leisure.

Glad you had a lovely Birfday SG!
I don't eat pasta very often as it doesn't really agree with me (IBS) but it's cheap, filling and was rather yummy actually!
I love that thread! Such a shame it dwindled out... maybe I should post some more on it and see if it spurs others on to post!Credit Card Debt:[STRIKE]£12991[/STRIKE] £12526
