I think our PN would approve of my choices this evening. All very retro when I think about it. I am influenced by you.....0

This was on top of the beef goulash and rice. I kind of feel a bit full and nauseous now, but it does serve me right
I'm going to bed0 -

I had the family round for lunch so made a huge beef and mushroom pie topped with potato pastry and a tarragon chicken and mushroom recipe in little ramekins topped with circles of potato pastry with mash and gravy and lots of green mixed fresh veg.
I had loads still in the oven dishes so made up some lidded containers and gave everyone some to take home and either freeze or have for the next day.
Trying to get back (er) maybe into, healthy eating as I am fed up with swollen and painful knees and feet etc. so might cook a soup later and look out some frozen fish to have tonight with a few new potatoes. A rummage through the freezer should come up with chicken or lean mince so will look through some recipes later unless I decide to make a large pot of stew instead as the weather is a bit gloomy."This site is addictive!"

Gloomy here today. And quite chilly at the moment. Going to crack on with some decorating whilst it's cooler.
My son and his girl cooked for me yesterday. I think I was a guinea pig, trying Out their offerings. They are still learning bless their hearts. They did a meat pie, followed by a fruit pie for pudding. Far too much wheat for me so today I have a bit of an upset tummy......never mind as long as I go grain free today I should be back to rights tomorrow.
I Got two Tuscan style sausages out the freezer. i will remove meat from casings and make Italian style meatballs in a tomato, garlic and basil sauce. It makes two portions, one to freeze. I will serve it with courgetti to avoid wheat.
Well done on the weight loss Money. Fantastic progress. Clothes sizes are all over the place aren't they. If it fits it's my size.0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Seems to have been a weekend for pies all round:D.
I've been through my fridge & fruit bowl and have a list of bits that are needing used sooner rather than later. For lunch I'm going to make a slaw with some of the beetroot I bought and Saturday and some carrot, spring onion, pepper and apple that are needing used, I might pop some grapes in as well. That should cover lunch for a couple of days. I'm going to have that on gem lettuce leaves with a couple of lurking slices of peppered beef as their use by is today. Tonight I'm for a lamb chop with the last of the Girvan spuds cooked on Friday with broad and runner beans from the garden.0 -

Keeping at it LL. Today so far is mixed - on the one hand I bought a charity shop skirt with a size 12 label on it (ie that means its size 16 then) and I can get it on and do up the zip but it's not "quite" yet for the size I'd pick in the first place. On the negative side - whoops....and treated myself to a bottle of designer beer. I'm not sure whether it cheers me up or depresses me that the average British woman in the 2010's is apparently size 16 - guess that means size 20 then (as I suppose they are going by 2010s label sizes??).
So still a bit "swings and roundabouts" - whilst I try and summon up the willpower to just do what I actually really want/have decided on all the time:cool:
On that note - must have a (belated) lunch and head out and inspect the endive I've got growing in the garden - with a view to that being part of lunch today. Thinks....endive/tomato/maybe I ought to open a can of cannelini beans I've got/maybe some sauerkraut.....
Off for an inspection of what's available....0 -
Good afternoon CFO'ers! I was awake until 2am cleaning the house apart from vacuuming as I didn't want to disturb any of the neighbours. I have now vacuumed upstairs and down so am
feeling very virtuous :A lol
No real CFO today as I'm going to Mum and Dad's for my birthday tea which is going to be chicken in white wine, mushroom and cream sauce with dauphinois potatoes and green veg. Followed by lashings of birthday cake I'm sure. I had scrambled eggs on toast for lunch and an orange. My Mum has dropped some lovely flowers off for me which I put in the kitchen and they look lovely and cheery.
Skirting boards in the bathroom have been cleaned whoo hoo0 -
