Well, good news bad news here. Had a lovely week in Devon, weather was a bit mixed as ever in this country but we went out every day and walked miles- all good. However, coffee and cakes every day, cream teas (only one but would have been more if the shop wasn't closing as we walked in) plus one or two icecreams haven't helped. All fruit Thursday went out the window, unless lemon drizzle cake and raspberry muffins count? No didn't think so!
When I came back there was a bit of a gain- No surprise there but my friend lost 5 lbs- cow! I think I gained about 3 /4 lbs BUT this week I'm back on it and have lost about 2 lbs ish.
So overall I am about 5 lbs over where I want to be so back to the drawing board. Funny things is my trousers which get tight when I put on weight are fine. They are my barometer of weight gain as they are not like my other jeans, which although the same size are much looser.
Got another holiday at the end of June, off to the Seychelles again so must try and get the tummy smaller for that. I tend to carry it on my stomach and the tops of my legs, never on my boobs tho!!! What i wouldn't give to have an actual cleavage, gap between my boobs you could drive a pig through! Not ever gonna happen now I think.
Still we're never happy are we?
Anyway happy Friday everyone and let's hope the bank holiday weather is as predicted. (It'll be nice as I'm not on holiday, always rains when I'm off- you're all welcome!) X

    Afternoon Everyone

Sounds like you had a lovely time CathA, am dead envious over the Seychelles would love to go one day....probably in the very distant future.

Well after having a lovely warm, dry day here, I thought I would tackle the lawn(first cut of the year) 10 minutes later and there was smoke billowing from the lawn mower and the extension lead has blown. Lawn mow is dead beyond revival so lawn has a tiny little path in the middle of it until I can get a new mower, probably attempt it again on Sunday or Monday.

So decided to walk to dr to collect something for dbil. Not much exercise but better than nothing.

B left over spinach and pasta
L small brown roll, ham, salad, wots@ts
D making toad in the hole and mash for dh and ds, butternut squash risotto for dd and myself.

CathA, you remind me of when I went on holiday with a friend who wouldn't believe that I couldn't lose weight on her diet. For a week we both ate exactly the same things only she had a slice of cake every afternoon - she said it was allowed! At the end of the week she had lost 2 lbs and I had put on 3.

I have lost this week but only a smidgen so in all conscience I can't really count it. I'd better record a - STS - please KnitWitch.

Definitely go! We've been before; a relative works over there but she's finishing this year so this is our last chance to go. If you ever do go, come home on a Thursday as it's £150-£200 ish cheaper on the flights if you leave that day, rather than the Friday or Saturday. It's like a Bounty advert, all white sands and coconut trees. Frightens the life out of you when one falls off the tree onto the roof of the house at night tho! And the fruit bats are huge, same size as a seagull. Can't wait. x

Generally speaking we usually both lose weight on our holidays, as I don't take the car so we walk/bus/train everywhere. We tend to do a lot of sight-seeing wherever we go so we walk a lot! We both walk a lot when we're home; her because she can't drive, me because it's my main exercise plus the miles I walk at work. It means I can eat biscuits as well! Still can't believe she lost 5lbs.

Hi all, since I last posted in January (when I'd lost 4lbs), I've gone off the rails again and my weight has been up and down since, luckily only by a few pounds but I am now back to where I started at the beginning of this year. At the moment I'm feeling motivated again, I'm refusing to buy any 'naughties' and would like to join in with the rest of the current challenge if that's ok? I'll aim for 7 pounds.
