I have had some great success. In the last 2 weeks I have lost 8.5 lbs

Sorry for not being around more, can't get on MSE during the week and the weekend seems to fly by.

I have arranged to have one personal training session a month through my gym and I go to my first on Wednesday.

My PT wanted me to be on 1550 calories a day, which I was initially terrified of as I found it hard enough to stick to the 1900 calories that My Fitness Pal told me to be on, and that's when I finally twigged that the way I had been eating was all wrong, and I have completely redesigned what I eat.

I have also been going to the gym as often as I can, sometimes for over 90 minutes, and have done the first week of training to be able to run 5k soon.

In addition to that I feel more awake then I have done for a long time.

No riding lesson at the weekend due to being at a school governor meeting. Instead I finally got around to going out for my first run of the year - after being injured in various ways for most of last year. It was also my first run since last April. I managed a very slow 4km - I was tempted to stretch to 5k but DH came with me and he was not looking great. I will try and go again on Wednesday and see if I can do the 5k.

I've been gently exercising daily for 2 weeks now and can see a difference in the mirror although I've not been having much weight loss on the scales. However a really big deal to me is that I can now wear my wedding ring again :j I know it sounds like such a small thing, but I had to stop wearing it 3 months ago because it was painfully tight. Since then I had tried putting it on again and I couldn't even get it down to the knuckle. This morning I tried again and it slipped on! This year will be our 20th wedding anniversary and it means a lot to me that I can wear my ring again :D

Welcome. You must feel as though you have a mountain to lose. Every mountain that has been moved started off with a few small pebbles. Every ounce lost is an once in the right direction. Good luck.

I have been doing soooo well but yesterday I succumbed to a beautiful iced doughnut. Well, it looked really lonely, sitting all by itself on the bakery shelf. As I passed by it wimpered at me. It would have taken a heart of stone to ignore that plea for help.

    It was delicious.

When I was expecting my first child I took my wedding ring off in case my finger swelled up, when she was a few months old I decided I wanted to wear it again and forced it on thinking it would be ok. My finger quickly swelled around the ring and turned a horrible red then purple colour and it was hurting. I rang DH in a panic as no amount of soap and cold water was getting it off, in the end he directed me to a hacksaw in the garage and I had to saw it off.
