I will give that a try, Dawn, I will have to look out for a cheap blender though as my beautiful Kitchen@id one broke, (as did my matching toaster, luckily I got them both free from work but it does make you wonder about the quality.) My Mr T value hand mixer on the other hand is still going strong!
DS went out with his mates so the lamb chops have been put off to another day and instead I made baba ganoush with my aubergines and just had it with some YS pitta bread, it was heavenly, (if a tad too garlicky.)
I've made 39 muffins  A mixture of blueberry, strawberry, blackberry and cherry. That's work snacks sorted for a good whileMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Stick blenders are best FVD (and cheapest), as you can use them directly in the saucepan, as long as it doesn't have non stick coating (mine are just plain stainless steel). You can just mash the veg and push through a sieve though.
Never had Kitchenaid, though I do love the look of them. I have a Kenwood Chef mixer which I bought cheap years ago as it was a discontinued model, and my precious duck egg blue Magimix food processor (which wasn't cheap but was also bought years ago). Both work fine, so although I love the Kitchenaid look, I won't be replacing them!
I always use the cheapie stick blender for soup though!0 -
Morning all :hello: lovely to see you back 1LL
Stick blender fan here too. I also love my little chopper (like a mini food mixer) but you put the stick of the blender on it to make it work, great for pesto, bread crumbs etc... however, it broke recently as the thread in the lid went. So need to source another as since I can't use it I realise how much I used it rather than getting out my lovely kenwood
List for today:

Hi gang,
Nice to see some new posters on the thread and some old faces back again!
CCL - big congrats on the promotion!
I am such a mess with my stick blender!Alas, we still don't have tiles on the kitchen walls so what does it matter! :rotfl:
DNMS - If only we were neighbours I'd pop by for some courgettes.Where I used to live, a local restaurant took home/local produce as a swap for restaurant vouchers.... Maybe you should do some door-to-door enquiries!
I've lost the plot a little DFW-wise over the past week. Just been trying to get finished up work for holiday and not really finding the time to do all the things I should be doing like making packed lunches, batch cooking etc...
But anyhoo...woohoo...I've finished up work for 11 sweet days!I also got the good news that I've been waiting on/hoping for - my bonus is over 22% this year!!!!!!!! :j :T :j We should be able to pay off loan#1 now and that will save us £250 per month. :T Super happy! I need to do a proper snowball again just to make sure that's the right thing...
My parents are here this weekend so that was my excuse to clean the house. :rotfl: Once they leave it will just be getting ready for holiday - we're off to a place in the middle of nowhere where I don't even think we have phone reception or wifi - absolutely CANNOT WAIT!!!!! Long walks, board games, reading books, yoga, crochet and good food and drinks will be the order of the week.My Ocado order is arriving shortly for us to take with us - got £15 off and free delivery so was defo worth it. Let me know if you want an Ocado discount and I can share my link.
Catch up soon my lovelies :beer:0 -
Purple Fairy,
Re tying up your tomato plants......a good free solution is old tights! Instead of chucking out holey ones, get some sharp scissors & cut them into strips. They make soft stretchy plant ties which don't cut into the stems of the tomato, pepper plants, etc.

Happy anniversary PF
And LaE - huge congratulations on that massive bonus! :T
So, having slept more than is entirely natural over the past 36 hours I'm back to my 'old' self - hangover gone, house still a mess etc - but the added bonus of knowing that there is no work tomorrow!
I actually have plans today as well
Off to visit my mam for a catch up and a free feed.
Finalise the hiring of a skip so I can declutter the house over the next week if possible (I know I'll feel better when this is done)
Get each of the kids to do a bag of rubbish ready for the skip.
Load of washing
Crochet
Notice how there's no gardening in thereI wish you lot lived closer - I'd come and use up extra courgettes etc. DNMS - have you ever made courgette cake? A woman I used to work with made the best cakes, and courgette was one of the nicest I've ever had.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Fantastic news on your bonus, La E, an extra £250 per month will be fantastic, the gift that keeps on giving!
Dawn, I love the look of KA too but I think Kenw00d are built to last and are just as lovely in their own way. I went to Vintage at Goodwood a few years back (the Faces were playing) and KW had a display of the KW Chef through the ages, I bet they all still worked too!
Nothing much doing here at the moment, I've put a load in the DW and WM and was tidying the garden but then it started raining to I'm back in again!
I've cut back lots of overhanging stuff in the front garden, not very artfully though I have to say. I've tied in my closet Ming roses in the back (what's the dealio with not crossing stems? It's nigh on impossible not to!) and I was just doing a bit of weed wing and sweeping up.
Two of my celery plants have rotted at the base but I think I know why (I drilled drainage holes in the he container but not right to the edge and the garden slopes so I think water is collecting on one side.) I still have enough for what I want them for, will just water a little less.
I've ironed DS's clothes for tomorrow, my interview has now been moved to tomorrow too, it's all happening!
I need to bag up and freeze more muffins. We have YS crumpets for brunch, I'm not sure about dinner, I'm hoping DS will stay in tonight, he's up and about and seems to have got his sleeping pattern in line with getting up for work, so maybe the lamb chops.
I paid for some of my mum's desk yesterday (she keeps all her savings in an account that she doesn't have a card for) so I need to go online to move it all around and pay myself back but Barclays site is down until 3.30pm.
I need to drop off my WBB package and buy some hair dye before my interview!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Morning perps
I agree tis lovely to see you again 1LL!
Weather good here today. Will plan to go out somewhere and make the most of it
Also will:
* make another batch of chutney - 1 kg of courgettes reduced to 2 small jars!
* make courgette cake/soup
* hang out clothes still a little damp & then hang out load waiting
* could today be another nsd?
* sprouting some mung seeds to make bean sprouts
* paint box with madam
* pick any produce ready - picked 350gms tomatoes this morning
* go to the allotment for an hour - yesterday I thinned out my beetroot and then replanted the thinnings. Hopefully they'll take! The swedes I did this with did. Little trick from an old handDF as at 30/12/16

Just started picking French beans and been rained off (again
) I will finish when it stops - I already have nearly a colander full from one big pot, and one more to pick over.
Apart from that:
Dog walk first thing, hope it stops raining so he gets an afternoon walk as well today (just to clarify, I don't mind the rain, but dog won't walk in it, and it seems pointless for me to go for a wet walk with the dog tucked inside my jacket :rotfl:)
Went to a couple of car boot sales this morning before the rain started, bought a bag of HG new potatoes, as mine are now sadly all used, a tea towel, some cutlery and a spare dog lead to leave in the camper van, and some nice bits to sell on. Total spend about £30
Cleared out my car as it is being traded in tomorrowA bit sad and lots of upfront expense, but the aim is to reduce the number of vehicles we run (we had one each from ages ago when we were both working in different directions, and recently got an old camper van too
From tomorrow, we will share just one car, with the option to use the camper van too as needed - it is the small kind, not a huge one) which will be moneysaving in the long run.
Still to do:
Bit of paperwork for business
Clean and label up some items for my sales unit for tomorrow
Minimal cooking as I did loads yesterday. We can even choose between chicken bhuna, mushroom quiche or pesto pasta for dinner
Washing to put on airer as it is still pouring outside
Still, no watering needed
PS, Congrats on the bonus La E0
