The rain finally held off for long enough for me to complete the garden tidy up and I even did a tidy of the garden store and my [STRIKE]old chest of drawers[/STRIKE] potting shed
I took out DS's sleeping bag and pillow to wash ready for Reading festival in a few weeks, I must have washed the sleeping bag before I stored it as it smells lovely but the pillow got washed and is in the TD now. I saved his 'no rinse' soap from last year so I don't need to buy that again and I bagged some dry shampoo from the free table the other day. I also grab all the empty cool bags from when food gets sent into work to use for toiletries/food/drinks/emergency phone/batteries etc. I found a battery-operated light but I need to buy new batteries for it so will wait until I next go to the £1 shop. I just need to hunt out the emergency phone which is an old PAYG with a small amount of credit that I usually charge up and give strict instructions that it's not to be turned on until he needs picking up or unless there is an emergency.

Hi Sunday Savers,
Well, my most money saving decision today was not to go to Lincoln, thus saving parking, coffee & general city centre temptation. Popped into town instead. Parked on outskirts for free & walked in. Bought ONLY the 3 items I intended - antiseptic cream, washing-up liquid & a newspaper. Free coffees at Waitrose which we brought home & had with home made cheese scones from the freezer. Checked veggie garden & picked courgettes & mint. Knitted some more of my latest knitting project - a chunky purple shawl using some lovely yarn from my Mum. She bought it to knit herself a scarf, knitted as far as the ebd of the first ball before deciding she's got heaps of scarves so she frogged it & gave the yarn to me. I'm knitting it on size 9 circular needles so it's growing quickly. I shall add either tassels or flower-loom yarn flowers (also fron gifted yarn). I honestly have not splurged any cashola on yarn for the longest time!
More free leisure: walking 8000+ steps, reading library book & watching a film from our dvd collection.
Mr f managed to get a rather too big discarded item into the wheelie bin instead of using petrol to drive to the tip.
Tomorrow's packed lunch made.
Not exciting but it's keeping good money saving habits over time which makes the difference, isn't it? Off to check ebay now to see if these watchers have bid yet.

This morning I calculated the number of months I have left to pay off my 0% interest credit card: 33 months, 24 days. Using only the number of whole months I have left it means I can reduce my monthly payments by a whole pound!
Also cashed in £5 to my bank account from Swagbucks earnings...
I set up the free DVD player we got from Freecycle last night, and we watched some classic episodes of The Office after dinner. Some much-needed relaxation after a weekend of driving for a family 50th birthday party!0
