I may have ahem, [STRIKE]plagiarised[/STRIKE] been heavily inspired by my diet book for that one :o but worth it for the :rotfl: :D

Had a lovely Xmas and Boxing Day. Kids loved their presents, Christmas dinner was delish, plus we had a nice carvery meal with extended family today. Started my diet today and all going well, easy to stick to and feel quite full so not really feeling the urge to pick which I normally do. Lack of caffeine is probably the hardest bit, but a decaf coffee with cream was a pretty tasty substitute. We have £30 to put back in the pot as some family gave us money for the two youngest and they had so many presents from us we just decided to buy one back for each and say it was from them, which worked well and will help a little financially. We also received £40 in cash from a relly so we’ll pay for a night out together in January with that.

I’ve ordered some cheap exercise gear from Mr A, as need some stuff to cycle in over winter.

Working on end of year round up and plans for 2018...

Well done on the healthy eating, I must start tomorrow - I've eaten soooo much cheese:o

Great idea on the gift buy back. I used to find when mine were little they were happier and more content if they weren't overwhelmed with loads of different things.

All the very best to you and yours in 2018 xx

Funnily enough, cheese is encouraged on this diet - just not the crackers, bread or relish :D.

Kids definitely fare better for a few meaningful things in my experience. However I still overbought this year :o.

All the best to you and yours too PP X

Thanks Vix. I figured starting it now should mean I’m over carb flu by the time I get back to work. Plus will hopefully be a bit more in the swing of things in terms of food prep etc. At home I can make bacon and egg for breakfast but will have to think of something else for my working days. At least there will only be three of them come Jan :D.

  • Been bit of a bleh day. DD1 off to friends house for 5 days, OH saw her onto the train. He was at work so I had both kids to myself. It’s been a while since I’ve looked after both on my own and especially with the cold and sleet we didn’t have much option but to stay at home. There were some good moments - did cornflour gloop on the tuff tray an aunt bought them for Christmas, and they played with that and their figurines for about an hour. Also got the train set out as we’d bought some v cheap stations (I think £2 each) which they both played with together. However quite a lot of shouting (DS) and hitting (DD2) which made it feel like a long and stressful day. Waaayyyy too much telly just to get through. Tomorrow I think I’ll venture to softplay with them which will cost a few quid but get us out the house. I’ve messaged a few friends but not heard back, although to be honest it is very difficult to do play dates with them as DS gets frustrated very easily and then acts out - it’s under investigation but other parents are understandably not very tolerant of this. Or he can be bullied by older kids quite easily, like at a party the other night where they were shoving him around the room as part of a ‘game’. At times like this I really do feel quite isolated.

Anyway, have stuck to diet and my hunger pangs are non-existent which is a major turnup for the books. About to have tarragon turkey with wilted spinach. Yum!

Quick post as v tired. Took kids to museum, it was manic and they had moments of being EXTREMELY difficult (think rolling on the floor on a public throughway for 5 mins ) but DS said he loved it so will call it a win. I used my free membership so there was no cost, although needed more water and DS wanted drink from most expensive corner shop in world so £3.50 spent (Yes, on two waters!)

    Two washloads done
    All dirty washing sorted
All clean clothes put away (until tomorrow :()
    House tidied for cleaner
    DW emptied and rebooted
    Bedding changed
    Saw friend
    Stuck to diet
Downloaded free book from library app to read

    Catch up tomorrow
