Great works do yesterday. I definitely overindulged, but it was lots of fun and I got home in one piece.

DD2 at nursery until the end of the week so it’s been quite a chilled day.
Have roasted some ys parsnips ready for a soup this evening, and played some games with DS. Now have a medical appointment for DD1.

Have decided to start a low carb diet on Boxing Day ! That way I should be over carb flu before I start back at work. Won’t be making a big deal of it in RL, but will post progress here.

Thanks PP. OH was paid yesterday... and looks like January may be an almost impossible month :( It is mostly me who has overspent, I was too focused on getting Xmas done rather than the numbers and have gone over in almost every category. I also now have £40 of unbudgeted for supplements on their way to me.

Will have to start posting here daily again, and work out ways of plugging the gap.

I have sent notice to nursery and school to reduce kids hours, that should save £300 a month although they may be a bit shirty as I’ve left it a little late. It’s a months notice but from today and am not sure how many people are in to process it :o.

ETA: £133 from TCB just claimed :j doesn’t fill all the gap but makes it a bit less scary

December is a tough one mW. I'm reviewing 2017 spends and Xmas and gifts has shocked me a bit. Because it is spread throughout the year it creeps up by stealth:eek: Cutting back in this area is going to be a key one for me I think:o. Maybe we should have a no spend January to get us off to a flyer :)
    Have a lovely Christmas xx

You’re too kind! I have listed a pair of unworn ugg boots on a local selling group for £100, if there’s no biters I’ll pop them on eBay after Xmas. But it’ll take more than some maths magic me thinks, will have to be very strict and try to bring in some extra money too.

Anyway a very :xmassign: to you too

DD1 loved the concert, only £5 for her ticket as I had won the first. It was possibly one of my favourite ever concerts too, amazing pianist and energetic conductor.

DD1 now at sleepover, am a bit late back as took the opportunity to talk to the parents as first time we’ve met in person. Much harder when they’re teens to find out who they’re socialising with.

Anyway, early start tomorrow as have day out with DSis and family. Have a local family drinks thing in the evening too so should be a lovely day.

Glad to hear it’s not just me (although apologies if that comes across as schaudenfreude!) Lets enjoy the coming week as guilt free as possible but definitely up for a no spend Jan. Although already have a few commitments for Jan (like DStepMIL 90th) so something tells me you might win :rotfl:.

    Night all

Any no spend plans I have for January are always messed up straight off by DS2's b'ay on the 6th! :D After that it's usually not a bad month - although this year I will be paying out literally £000s for new kitchen/ workmen etc - I think I might lose! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Merry Christmas to you and yours, mw :) x
