    Am going to reflect on this list daily to make sure I keep in touch with these ambitions. Most of these are actually cheap, free or already budgeted for. Anything else that I take on HAS to fit with the general ethos of calmness and happiness.
    Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

  • Sounds like a very good plan. Hope you are on the road to recovery

  • Thanks wish. I feel better than I did but a broken night with DD2 hasn’t helped so hoping for a bit more rest over the weekend.

    All kids seemed to love their advents, and OH seemed happy too (although said you should have got yourself one too and we could enjoy a beer together every night. I did have to point out it came from my pocket money not house money, not sure if he gets it!) his first one was a raspberry wheat beer from meantime which he said wasn’t overly sweet, he likes it.

    DD2 nursery paid and Hal!fax credit card paid off (cost £220 for damn hire car ‘scratches’ in the end :mad:). I also underestimated OHs travelcard, thought it was £1400 but is actually £1550 :eek:. This month is going to be tighter than a very tight thing in tiny tights. It is unlikely we will be able to top up our tax savings which means Jan and Feb will need to take the hit on those.

    Strangely enough I feel more energised and motivated after yesterday’s to do list, which was more of a to don’t list as I took off all the nagging shoulds and feel lighter for it.

    DS swimming lesson cancelled again (third no show by swimming teacher in about 6 weeks) but good news is we were given two free soft play sessions (worth £16) as well as lesson refund (worth £5). So OH dashed home to pick up DD2, I now unexpectedly have house to myself for an hour. We’ve stopped taking them due to expense so it’s great for them to have a free play, and will hopefully mean they’re tired out!

    Today’s ta dahh list:
    * bags to charity
    * tidy DD1 room
    * clear dining table
    * boys haircuts
    * collect parcels
    * cook oxtail stew
    * Claim back shopping refunds
    * Wrap presents and write final list
    * Ask rellies what kids want for Xmas
    * Ask DSis when around for Xmas
    * Pull together giftcards for using up
    Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

  • Love your lists and I have started jotting one down every few days myself. It is very satisfying to cross things that have been done- feel like I am getting on.
    Had an odd moment on Friday when I took two carrier bags to the CS and the lady was almost turning me away! Said they were deluged with stuff but thankd me anyway! Obviously too much decluttering / donating going on around here and not enough CS buying?!

    Charity shops deluged with donations? We’re heading over! :rotfl::rotfl: Sounds like my idea of heaven. I did wonder if fleabay and Facebook selling groups would reduce charity donations but no, there are still people who want gone, fortunately. I’m often one of them.

    Thanks for stopping by and happy list making :j.

  • List update

    Today’s ta dahh list:
    * [STRIKE]bags to charity[/STRIKE] wouldn't take duvet so have to do a tip run
    * [STRIKE]tidy DD1 room[/STRIKE]done, and she even said thank you when she got home
    * clear dining table does chucking it in a bag count:o
    * [STRIKE]boys haircuts[/STRIKE] £21, YNAB updated
    * collect parcels
    * [STRIKE]cook oxtail stew[/STRIKE] a total hit, apart from the fact none of the kids would touch it, that is! Lots of leftovers for OH to eat while I have my crazy week
    * Claim back shopping refunds Shopm!um £2 submitted, one left to do
    * Wrap presents and write final list
    * Ask rellies what kids want for Xmas
    * Ask DSis when around for Xmas
    * Pull together giftcards for using up

    A good day, the oxtail stew was delicious and even used up a bit of last year’s mulled wine :money:. We took the littlies to the park to see the Christmas tree forest, there was dressing up and free mince pies and something that claimed to be mulled wine but I suspect was watered down Ribena. We all saw some friends so stayed til dark, chatting and playing until I could no longer feel my toes. We resisted buying a tree as we will try to get an IKEA one next week, £10 cheaper and a free £20 voucher too.

    Kids were a bit worn out by end of day and saw some challenging behaviour at tea time, but all went to bed happy. It was late however, so I was too tired to look at Xmas presents. I did also get three loads washed (2 hung out, one in drier when run out of space), sorted the bags of laundry from the week in my room, and sorted the three bags of mixed trash, recycling and washing excavated from DD1s room.

    Aside from haircuts, one small spend of £11 by DD1 on revision aids, which will have to come out of the Stuff I forgot to budget for pot.

    I thought you were supposed to be having a restful weekend?! ;) It sounds like you had a lovely time at the Christmas tree forest though - what a lovely idea.

    Make sure you take the time to recover fully though.

    Gosh, sadly that is my idea of a restful weekend :rotfl: I can see where I might be going wrong!

    Some life/ MSE wins this week:
    * set alarm and got up a bit earlier
    * Did 2x headspace sessions
    * Prescription collected and filled
    * Signed up for auto renewal of prescription via pharmacy, that should make life sooo much easier!
    * Bought 2x eye brow kits from B00ts for £5 each as stocking fillers then also £27 make up set as an extra gift. £49 worth of cosmetics for £10 :money:
    * Did some intention setting at work and managed to make progress on some difficult projects - yesterday maybe more successfully than today, but both days saw forward motion
    * Had free visit to exhibition with work (worth £16) and free coffee afterwards
    * Stacked some Mr W deals on toiletries with PYO offers, Green Jinn and Shopm!um to get £47 of shopping for £20. That includes 5x beers for OH’s advent
    * Shared TCB referral with a colleague
    * DD1 wasn’t in concert last night so £5 saved on ticket
    * DD1s concert tonight was free and my DSis came too which was lovely. They also played a great piece really well
    * visited two @mex shop small places and topped up my 0yster - after cashback will be £9.30 up :j
    * Packed lunch with free if strange cactus water from Shopm!um and free yoghurt from Check0utSmart
    Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

  • I have to say the cactus water hasn't yet appealed to me enough to try it.....I am impressed that you went for it!

    Your "restful" weekend looks like mine normally do - why is it that we can't just switch off for a while (and still have things done?!)!!
