  • I tried to post yesterday, but my phone was being silly, so I abandoned in favour of falling asleep.
Yesterday was not a nsd, I needed fuel for my car and some journey snacks. But I kept it under control. I also had to pay the deposit for the heat exchanger to sort out our damp/condensation issue. Today however has been a nsd with the exception of work expenses on the charge card.
I'm now in my hotel room, feeling a little lonely, but I'm hoping for a decent night's sleep.
    Wish.

  • another nsd over here. We are just on the middle of the month too and budgets are holding up remarkably well. The payroll lady has sent the additional hours forms out today, I don't have any additional hours before the deadline, which is actually a good thing Becuase if my contract amendments have gone through I will know what my basic monthly pay is for now, going forward. Hopefully the deadline for mileage claims is after Friday as I've got about 600 miles to claim already and another long trip next week too now. Should reach a resolution with my work issue tomorrow. It's going to be a tough couple of days, but I do feel supported by my colleagues and friends.

  • Work issue is now behind me. Woo hooo, there are a few bits of 'mopping up' to be done, but I actually think that overall the final outcome will be better for me and the people I work with. It's a shame it came to me making the mistake I did for the progress that is going to happen to happen though.
As a result I am celebrating with a glass of wine which I can't expense, so today is not a nsd. (But, I don't care!) yesterday was though, so still making progress.
Hubby says car insurance renewals have arrived at home £20 increase on both, so I'll be dining them up to 'negotiate' I also need to do my breakdown which I think will increase as I had a call out last year.

A day of work to do tomorrow, then the long drive home. I'm really missing Pickle, we video called this morning but the poor thing had just been dragged from his bed and was really groggy. I don't think he realises I wasn't there as he was thrusting a book into hubby's phone 'read it mummy, read it pwease. Saturday morning cuddles are going to be fab.

  • Morning all.
I'm home. And so pleased to be here too. Hubby has been a busy bee but he has left the messy evidence of his efforts all around the house. I'll get that sorted over today and pull the house back to normality.
A few spends yesterday including paying for the radiator fitting payment. Not sure of the plans today but I'm unlikely to get away with a nsd.
I hope everyone else is sleeping still.

  • Just popping in for some updates.
Just sorted both car insurances and my breakdown cover. I must be the only person in the world who can spend £1000 and feel like I'm £300 richer than I was this morning.
I had £1300 saved in the car insurance pot, only needed £1000 so £300 to allocate elsewhere.

  • Looks like I'm only checking in on NSDs. Which today was and the other days since I last posted weren't. Ho hum. Budgets dire but the end of the month is in sight.

  • Another nsd today. Budgets are squeaky squeaky. Pay slip has arrived today with my increased hours reflected. So I've entered the transaction into ynab but dated it for the day it will be paid (Wednesday) I've increased my month budget by £100 (I did this in January using overtime money- no over time this month) which has helped a bit, but a huge fuel bill and overspending on eating out (as usual!) as well as a stock up on some household goods has pushed the budgets to the limit. I'm beginning to think my budgeting is unrealistic. I'll look at my 3 month averages on Ynab and see what further adjustments I need to make.
Still we are about to have masses of work done on the house and I can pay cash for it all. It does put my long term financial plans behind but should also increase the equity in the house, so, basically a 'no loss situation'

  • Ast day of the month.
Yesterday was a nsd, not going to hit the target but never mind.
Budget pots are empty so today will have to be a nsd.
Wages paid, mop pot payment made (hit target so I'm pleased about that.)
Savings target not made, but happy, despite the fact all forward movement I've made this week will be put back due to woodworm bill next well. Oh well, such is life!

  • Looking good, Wish!

Life always seems to get in the way, one way or another!

Still, a salutary lesson in having savings and managing money well.

Hope woodworm work goes well and isn't crazy expensive!
